Not sure what to do about a single crazy drow. (Would be easier without a Good-aligned character.)

Beegred Thornpost - Lvl 8 Halfling Ranger - Out of the Abyss by Kerrec Drusk - Lvl 8 Half-Orc Life Cleric - The Long Road: Dragon Heist by Mingofaust (player & current DM) Hunferho Aelorothi - Lvl 5 Half-Elf Bard/Rogue - Baldur's Gate: Descent Into Avernus (by Pokepaladdy) DM - Frontier City of Nunkreet (ended)
There's not a whole lot going on with this encounter. The dice rolled something almost pointless, but there is a little bit of foreshadowing going on here so I'm playing it out. If you want to move on, you can just hand waive and say, "We make sure he can't hurt us and let him go on his way", or "We kill him so he can't report us to other drow", or "We take him with us...?".
If this works for the DM... While the rest of the group are squabbling over what to do, Sarith goes over and quickly hacks the mad drow to death. Walking away, Sarith mumbles in a numb voice, "Can't return, can't squeal to other drow soldiers behind us..." before going back to sleep.

In that case, have Sarith be creepy-possessive about his new buddy, which will make everyone else want to get rid of the new guy right away (either kill or let loose).

Narstin convinced Beegred to "take him with us", and we should hand-wave the others being (reluctantly) convinced, so we can move on.

Ok. He would be an unwilling prisoner AND he frequently bursts out laughing, which does nothing for your ability to stealth. It would be impossible to move at a fast pace, but you are not anyway. Just keep in mind in case you decide you want to later.
One party member is going to need to be removed from foraging duty to lead him/watch him. And he's 1 extra mouth to feed.

Are Tozer and Bold back?
Does Sarith have a ballpark guess on when they'll get to Neverlight Grove. (Assuming that the group never got lost or had terrain problems, how many more days?)
I'm fine with what the others decide. My suggestion is Derendil change from water foraging to prisoner guarding. Narstin will have to Create Water most days, but hopefully that won't be an issue.

Narstin also wouldn't argue against a "We make sure he can't hurt us and let him go on his way", as long as it actually is sending the drow on his way and not killing or maiming him.
Have a great weekend everyone.

Sorry folks. Holiday weekends are exhausting. Now I'm back at work and I can relax. ;)
Tozer and Bold have let me know they will be out of town for a few days. I will play their characters, if necessary, through this little encounter.
Meanwhile, Quasi and Vander around to play this one out?
I'm around

Unfortunately because of his backstory, Sarith would want him to come along to Neverlight Grove. Now if Buppido was around....
