Sensing the meeting is over, Sovereign Basidia moves towards the group and communicates, "Come, I will give you a tour of our Grove. You may ask the Circle of Explorers for your directions and we can discuss this 'mistletoe' you requested."
Once away from the influence of Sovereign Phylo's rapport spores, she ejects her own onto the group. "All is not well in the Grove. I suspect Sovereign Phylo is ill from some form of disease spore, and many other myconids appear to be succumbing to this 'disease' as well. Let me explain the Myconid way of life; apart from Sovereigns, myconids very rarely reflect on the past and almost never worry about the future. We are a race that lives wholly in the present. Myconids are also not prone to emotional outbursts and are often described as calm and serene by other races. A myconid spends 8 hours working at their tasks, 8 hours melding to share experience and experiences and 8 hours resting. Day after day after day, as it has been for eons. Very rarely do myconids change their ways, and when we do, it is usually under great pressure from outside influences.
Recently, for no apparent reason, Sovereign Phylo has been implementing changes to our way of life. One change would be alarming and would consume the melding circles for some time. The quantity of changes that Sovereign Phylo is implementing is unprecedented. It is not the myconid way. And when asked, Sovereign Phylo simply responds that something 'great' and 'wondrous' is going to be happening soon. If I press Sovereign Phylo or other myconids with the same symptoms, all I get is gibberish I do not have context for, such as: The Great Seeder, She, Araumycos, Weddings, and others."
During this conversation, Sovereign Basidia is leading you north towards the multi-leveled terraces. Climbing up to the middle terrace, the party sees the waters trickling from the walls of this vast cavern are channeled into a crude but effective terraced irrigation system. A thick, sweet smell fills the air from the thousands of fungi of all colors and sizes, many glowing with a strange, inviting light. The party can see the upper terraces are suffused with faerzress. Sovereign Basidia explains, "These terraces belong to the circle of Builders and Growers who grow special fungi that provide materials and ingredients for various crafts. This myconid here is the leader of the Circle of Builders, Gasbide. One moment…"
Sovereign Basidia seems to signal this individual, who approaches and releases a cloud of rapport spores, joining the telepathic discussion. Basidia continues, "Leader Gasbide, these are softers from the surface world, lost and searching for respite and…"
Gasbide excitedly cuts Basidia off, asking, "Surfacers!? Tell me, have you seen the structures built on the surface? The tall towers that spear upwards with the diameter to height ratio of a Nightlight? With tops layered with materials like Ripplebark to keep the interior dry? Tell me, what are the precise dimensions of your surface bricks? What is the density of the lumber used? What is the greatest span a piece of lumber can bridge without bending? What is the ratio of mass needed below to support the weight above?"
Rodolfo says, "Hi Gasibe, I'm Rodolfo and I have been building things my whole life. Not buildings, but smaller things. But I know most of the things you ask for and could teach you the principles."
And he goes into explaining the answers and approaches to all the questions. Time permitting he'll do some examples as well, using Minor Alchemy to turn stone into wood, saw it into the proper dimensions of a brick and let it return to stone, etc.
Once this starts to wind down he asks, "Could you explain to me the how things work here? Do you use magic? Do you maybe have arcane spells that deal with changing the world around us?"
For every question that Rodolfo answers, Gasbide asks ten more. Yet he is not as forthcoming with answers. Sovereign Basidia interjects, "Leader Gasbide, why do you need to know how surfacers build their towers?"
Gasbide answers, "I aspire to build the largest tower ever known. I hope with the aid of Araumycos, I can even pierce through the underdark to the surface world above!"
Gasbide answers, "I aspire to build the largest tower ever known. I hope with the aid of Araumycos, I can even pierce through the underdark to the surface world above!"
(OOC: Glad Roldolfo spoke up. Beegred would have happily given his best answers... They would all be wrong, including the size of a brick.)
"We've heard both you and Sovereign Basidia mention the word 'Araumycos'. What is that?" (Basidia doesn't know either, but it wanted to hear about it.)
"Gabides, you seem fascinated with the surface. Have you grown any surface plants here? For instance... mistetoe?" (Beegred will give an accurate physical description of the plant.)

Gasbide doesn't hesitate in his barrage of questions, until Beegred asks what 'Araumycos' is, and he finally answers a question, sort of... "Araumycos will be part of the celebration to come!" Then he resumes.
Sovereign Basidia interrupts Gasbide, "Leader Gasbide, my apologies. I must introduce the softers to all the Circle Leaders before they are brought to the Garden of Welcome tomorrow. We must take your leave."
Gasbide responds, "The garden of welcome! Such an honor. I must not keep you then. We will talk after tomorrow, and you will surely tell me all you know."
Sovereign Basidia leads you away toward the top northern terrace. "Gasbide is the leader of the Circle of Builders, it would not interest itself in growing things. You have asked several times for this 'mistletoe', I assure you I will be able to help. But first I wish to complete the tour of the Circles." As you follow, it informs you, that as a Sovereign, it is expected to carry the knowledge of all the circles. Yet it has never seen or heard of these surface structures Gasbide describes. Nor does it understand why a structure would be built to be dry on the inside. But worse of all, as a Sovereign it knows that the light of the surface world would sicken myconids to death. There is no reason any myconid would ever want to visit the surface world.
Once at the top, you are all close enough to the faerzress you could step into it if you wish. Sovereign Basidia once again approaches an individual myconid, who it introduces as Leader Hebopbe. It signals and the leader ejects its rapport spores, joining the telepathic link.
"Leader Hebopbe, these softers are surfacers lost in the underdark and seeking refuge. Sovereign Phylo will bring them to the Garden of Welcome tomorrow. This is the second group of softers entering into the Grove recently and Sovereign Phylo has not called for a mass melding yet again. Have you pondered on our last discussion. Have you reconsidered?"
Leader Hebopbe responds, "I do miss mass meldings Sovereign Basidia, but the new smaller meldings are more efficient. Your concerns are just from one resisting change. I do believe you can spend your time more wisely than worrying about it."
Sovereign Basidia concedes, "Of course. We must press on and meet the other Circle Leaders before the melds begin." Leader Hebopbe simply agrees and returns to its tasks.
Sovereign Basidia leads you all back downwards, explaining the other circles are on the southern side. As you travel, she informs all of you that Leader Hebopbe was one of the first and the most intense voice in opposition of the establishment of the smaller melding sizes. Gradually, Hebopbe stopped opposing the change and has lately become apathetic even though it still remembers the mass meldings and misses them.
"Second group? Is the first group still here, and/or can you describe them?"

Sovereign Basidia replies gravely, "We Sovereigns rule here in Neverlight Grove. We will not take away the freedoms of the softers that wish it. Your warning is well noted."
As you travel past the large melding mound of the Inner Circle, you make your way to another of the smaller melding mounds and Sovereign Basidia explains, "This is the Circle of Sporers, where we grow new myconids to replace those that return to the soil. The Grove is a delicate ecosystem and the quantity of myconids living here at any given time was strictly controlled to not exceed what the resources of the Grove can sustain. When I found the Grove with my circles and elected to stay, it was a serious upheaval to the balance that has been held for untold generations. Yet now, the Circle of Sporers are growing new myconids in unheard of numbers, many times more numerous than the circles I led here." Sovereign Basidia once again signals an individual myconid and when it joins the telepathic link, Basidia introduces you, "Leader Yrberop, these are softers from the surface lost in the underdark and seeking refuge. I am introducing them to all the Circle Leaders before they are brought to the Garden of Welcome tomorrow."
Leader Yrberop responds, "That is joyful news. They will be able to join us to spread the Great Seeder's happiness to everyone in the Underdark and even beyond!" Yrberop seems to lose interest and returns to cooing at the inch tall myconids that are growing.
Yrberop can be heard singing to the newly spored myconids, and the individuals catch two threads of meaning:
It sings of the Great Seeder and "HER" wedding to the Great Body.
Every myconid is invited, bringing joy to all in the world below and above.
Yrberop sways slightly, like a dance, unique among all the other myconids that you have observed. When Yrberop joined the telepathic link by ejecting its spores, you began to faintly hear a cacophony of various musics coming from the telepathic bond.
@ everyone else:
Sovereign Basidia very clearly gives the Yrberop an order, "Leader Yrberop, instruct Sovereign Phylo's servants to step aside to let the softers get an advance look at the Garden of Welcome." You see in the near distance that two large creatures covered in lichen and fungus standing on four legs with two arms ending in large claws are guarding a path leading upwards to the east.
Leader Yrberop casually replies, "Sovereign Phylo will bring them tomorrow."
Sovereign Basidia ushers you all way, not even bidding Leader Yrberop goodbye. Basidia explains that as a sovereign, it should be impossible for a lesser myconid to disobey, yet Yrberop is able to and frequently does when the Garden of Welcome is implicated.
You come to the realization that when the Myconids speak, they never say 'he' or 'she', always 'it' or a proper name. The only time you've heard a Myconid say 'SHE' since arriving, is in reference to this 'Great Seeder'.
Beegred looks excited to say something out loud, but Narstin points to his temple, eyes the myconids nearby, and says, "later".
(The rest of the party recognizes when Beegred thinks he knows more than the rest of them. This time, it might actually be true.)

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
You all head towards the southern rim, which appears to not be as fertile as the northern terraces. These terraces are quiet and calm. The only sounds here are soft, "ploopy" splashes as water drips from stalactites above onto the caps of oversized mushrooms sprouting from mushy earth. Basidia tells you this smaller terrace is the resting place for the Circle of Explorers, who are frequently outside of the Grove. It once again signals an individual myconid, who approaches and covers you in spores to join the telepathic link. Basidia introduces you, "Leader Rasharoo, these are softers lost in the underdark and seeking respite in the Grove.
