Looking into the water she realizes that Velon is beyond her aid. She looks after him with great worry. Lia flies towards Poljen as she notices heading her way. As they meet up she grimaces at the burns on him. " I am sorry that i didn't heal you before. Let me make it up to you now. " She places her hand on his shoulder and asks Sune to pour out healing upon him. Healing warmth radiates from her hand into him. " Let us see about stopping that creature coming this way. " She will head towards the others to group up.
Mari hears Lawrance over the link. " Looks like Perry is trying to help speed up the process with the mask. Let's buy some time now. Come on Poljen, Cratol and Morgaine. We must attack it in a coordinated fashion and leave our friends to attack from a distance. May whoever god you all believe in shine upon us brightly today. The illusions covering Perry and Velon fade away, and the strength they had been benefiting from slips away as well. Apparently Protanther was unable to keep maintaining the spell.
As Perry approaches the ship, there is a shimmering, and he can finally see them for what they are. In place of a pair of light whaling schooners are two massive slaver's galleons, big enough to hold thousands of people, and clearly armed and armored for war. Several hundred armed men line the decks, most of them have bows pointed in the pegasus' direction. As he gets close, some arrows streak out in his general direction, though they seem to be warning shots, and someone yells at Perry to bugger off.
---
Velon manages to get close enough to strike at Hoondarrh, his hammer flashing out for a single blow. The two dragons keep tearing at each other, and the water is growing cloudy with blood. The pair are starting to sink rather rapidly, and Velon is having some difficulty keeping up, he'll need to grab on if he wishes to stay with them, and in the meantime the light down here is fading...
---
The massive air elemental continues its approach as the Blaze regroups. The Blue on the ground finishes breaking up the ball of ice, and then transforms into a blue scaled dragonborn, simply walking off to the west where he sits at the edge of the forest. He seems to be content to watch and wait.
Velon is not daunted by breathing underwater, his movement with armor on, or his ability to swing his hammer underwater, but when the depths of the sea begin to blind him as well and even his hasted speed isn't enough to keep up the challenges of staying in this fight become too great. He heads for the surface once again to scope out where the rest of the Blaze is at. He calls out to Lia "Do I need to fly again, or should we go to the beach?"
Just before the elemental arrives, Velon calls upon Bahamut to bless his weapon for what he hopes is the final fight of this particular day. (Sacred Weapon C.D.)
Perry finally sees through the illusion and immediately panics at the threats posed at him, knowing he is still too far away for them to hear. He moves away again and waits for the smaller delivery ship to emerge with the mask and approach them slowly. He creates a small illusion of a white flag waving until he can get close enough to call to them and try to convince them to ride Shadow to the meeting.
Lia is greatly relieved as she hears Velon. " We should head to the beach. The creature seens to be coming directly to the meeting place there. Also, the blue dragon is just staying out of the way. Do you think you can convince him to aid us? It's worth a shot at least. I'll help speak with him. " She flies towards the beach and the blue dragon while looking back for Velon.
Mari hears them over the link. " The beach it is. We had better hurry and get our defenses set. Time is almost out. " She races to a spot on the beach in front of the meeting place.
Lawrance, seeing the dragons sink below the icy, dark and undoubtably clothes-ruining waters, wheels around and heads back to intercept the rest of the group. Mentally he calls “We should deal with the elemental first, but those Thaysians need to be stopped before they call another nuisance!” Hearing Velon, he adds “If they are too deep to help, let’s deal with the surface threats. Maybe a couple of days from now the Zhentarim will finally deliver the mask. Anyone know who sent those Illithid agents, yet?”

“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar
Velon nods at Lia and begins swimming towards the beach at rapid speed despite his bulk, aided by the magic of his armor and his spell. Sprinting up onto the beach, water pouring out of the various gaps in his armor, he looks for the meeting site and the blue dragon. He joins Lia in approaching with caution.
In draconic, Velon says "greetings, mighty one" before he resumes in Common for Lia's benefit. "You have been defeated, and you have seen Hoondarrh fall, but you can still choose your fate. Join with us against the red wizards and whatever they summon and get another chance to show us your strength. Choose wisely and I will tell the dragons of your honor, and your might. I will even listen to any terms you have in accepting this opportunity, but we have little time, so don't press your good fortune too far. Alternatively, swear to join with us until I release you from your duty, and I shall offer you a new lair and more. The Silver Blaze and Castle Skyreach would benefit greatly from having the mightiest of guardians."
Velon looks to Lia to see if she wants to add anything.
The blue dragonborn standing at the edge of the forest looks to Velon and states quite simply, "No. I cannot openly fight against my queen or her interests. It is no more in my nature than fighting Bahamut is in yours bloodkin, even if I could fully forgive you for killing my clutchbrother, Lennithon."
"I came here for his sake. The cult has been claiming that you were only able to bring him down through treachery and poison. Clearly those insects lied, your prowess in honorable combat is considerably greater than they claimed. I will observe the outcome of this fight, ensure that no more of my kin are lied to, and remain out of this particular war as best I can. I can promise no more."
He produces a sapphire the size of a chicken egg from somewhere, "A token of your victory over my person as well as my pledge, and my bid for leave to watch this event then depart unmolested. I will not interfere in this event in any way, but I would observe and know the outcome. Do you accept?"
Knowing they are in a rush, Velon decides to accept the offer as is. He walks up and accepts the diamond and says. "I myself was not there to meet Lennithon, but I heard he was mighty and it took many to bring him down. We accept. I hope your kin will remember who lied to you and who was more honorable if any are pulled into this great war."
At that Velon nods his head a bit in respect to the dragon and returns to the others with Lia, ready to fight. He starts shrinking back to his normal size and wobbles a bit as his haste spell wears off, grabbing onto Lia in an attempt not to fall over and vomit as the exhaustion hits him. A few seconds later he is fine, however, as he remarks "who says being gifted magic is a blessing?"
Just before the elemental arrives, Velon calls upon Bahamut to bless his weapon for what he hopes is the final fight of this particular day. (timing Sacred Weapon C.D. as somewhat of a readied action)

Meanwhile, the pinnace managed to reach the Zhent ships, and taken aboard a heavy looking chest. One of the two ships turns inland and keeps pace as the pinnace starts returning to shore, apparently prepared to run themselves into the shallows if necessary to protect the smaller vessel on its way back for as long as possible.
The return is cut short as a pair of clawed flippers latch onto the rear of the pinnace, and a huge head emerges from the water, breathing a huge plume of steam onto the hapless sailors. It looks like a turtle, but with crimson scales, and far bigger than any turtle has a right to be.
As the elemental dissapates to another plane, Lawrance 'paths #Lia, complete the spell and the rest of us will engage HoonShell, unless there's a better plan?# and he races off at low altitude towards the embattled ship, enjoying the flight speed far too much.
