There are about 12 children (not including you four) Total. While Carmir works to unlock a few of the chains, freeing a small tabaxi and goblin... George manages to pull and pry his manacles apart. Rustler tries once more to wiggle his way out of his chains and is able to do so, with the manacles not being able to be set tight enough to securly fasten to his bird-like feet.
9 kids are still chained (you just free'd two and had already removed the chains from Chirpee)
As Rustler looks down the hall and listens for sounds of movement, he doesn't hear anything coming from upstairs but he can barley make out the familiar sounds of Cassandra shouting down the long spiral staircase below. He cannot make out what she is saying however...
Rustler antsy takes a turn for the worse. Acting in haste, he goes over to the stairs and a short ways down for safety to shout a phrase in Chad's voice. Something the Kenku may have seen and heard said to calm the priestess down.
Then its back up the steps, tugging at this point at peoples arms and gesticulating they move either up the other set of stairs off the other path to the mine. Neither are particular of preference, so long as movement is done."Take the little monsters upstairs and put them with that mouthy kenku you taught a lesson earlier...", he repeats, using the priestess' voice.

Working faster now, Carmir is able to get the chains off of a little green kobold who excitedly bounces around once free. Rustler heads a short ways down the stairs and strains to think of anything to yell to Cassandra... Eventually he blurts out "Yeah.. Yeah.. I hear ya!" in almost an annoyed tone. After saying it you realize that while it was something Chad had said... it was something he had said to Kyle and didn't have nearly the tone of respect that he would normally use when addressing Cassandra.
Ducking back up the stairs and motioning to the freed children, they begin slowly making their way up the spiral staircase. The three of them have picked up their chains to use as weapons if need be, but you all hope very much that they won't have to try to use them...
Carmir sees kids heading up the stairs out of the corner of his eye while fumbling with all the locks. "Wait, where are they going? Sparks, watch the little ones!" he says, trying to keep his voice down.
Carmir is able to get two more chains free as a quiet Gith and small hairy shifter stretch their newly freed legs. After Rustlers response down the stairs, you don't immediately hear anything else coming from the stairwell to the crypts.
***Are George and Cinders doing anything to help speed up freeing the little ones? Checking upstairs for threats? moving to collect Chirpee and vignar?
(You guys still have the dog and Chirpee hidden in a chest in the storage room as well)
(So I don't want to be... That guy... but I would like to remind the group of the large key ring that you guys recovered from Herman's body.... It had quite a few keys on it... i mean.. there could be like.. a manacle key in there. I think Cinders has it)
George turns to Cinders “listen ‘ere ya wee Barra. Don’t ya be tryin’ ya tell me what to do!”
"Listen 'ere ya wee Barra. Don't ya be tryin' ya tell me what to do!" Rustler repeats as he stood beside George. He then looks to George with a 'Did I do good?' expression, and waits in eager anticipation of the answer. Soon as he had it, he remembers the bodies of Chad and Kyle(?), cocks his head curiously at them for a moment, and then tentatively goes over to the former to start rustling about his person for things. What with it being clear noone would heed the warnings.

The kenku makes a quick search of the bodies, not wanting to spend too much time focused on anything except getting out of this basement. Between the two bodies, he is able to quickly find....
1 x vial of liquid 2 x coin pouches containing 20 gold total 2 x silvered morning star 2 x heavy crossbow 40 x bolts 2 x daggers
Without missing a beat, Rustler pockets the vial and pouches of gold, but holds onto the daggers only briefly before chirp at the recently released Gith and Shifter. "Its dangerous to go alone. Take this." He says in elderly voice while handing the daggers off. Heedless of any concern or confusion, the silvered Kenku struggles to get the two silvered morning stars over to George, repeating the same words.
Taking a heavy crossbow and set of bolts for himself, he moves to stand guard by the lower stairs, weapon awkward in hand, and yet fails to dissuade the Kenku ready to fire upon the priestess. If she comes up anytime soon that is...

As Rustler guards the stairwell, he eventually hears the sound if footsteps... they are slow moving... amdnd it sounds as though there are more than one set of feet making their way up, but it is hard to be sure.
The children heading up the staircase stop when they come to what appears to be a solid wooden wall. On either side of the wooden wall, there are lanterns hanging on chains sticking from the smooth stone wall.

How many kids are there? If Carmir picked one (thanks, Orileo), George broke out of his, and Rustler slipped out of his, who's left?

Cinders does his best at herding cats (keeping the kids in check) as Carmir unlocks them one by one.
With a few, "Oi's", "Watchit's" and a "Wait up!" Cinders keeps all the younger children, in the one room.
George turns to Cinders “listen ‘ere ya wee Barra. Don’t ya be tryin’ ya tell me what to do!”

Cinders has a keyring?!
(OOC: You guys used it to unlock the massive chest containing your parents gear remember... in post 1682 You guys always make everything so hard ;) )
