You have been sent to The Larches to meet your contact and start a foothold, the plan; a Heist! Trader Ships: 10 Days
The Larches is a port town that has gotten comfortable within its walls and has begun to lax in the way of "Security" if you could ever call it that, nothing more then a couple half trained nit-wits with a sword! The town stands at the very edge of the water, some houses and shops perched atop the water itself on the dock, in fact the dock even stretches out of sight past the mist and fogs its so long.
This town gets most its money from being a trade and repairs stop for ships but there sure is plenty of opportunity here. Anything from jeweler's, smith's, library's, merchant guilds and many other stores you could think of. Also the Lord of the town lives at the peek of a hill looking over this town, he and his family are well known for taxing high and living a good life of the work of others.
Find the information, make a plan and make it happen, lets get to work!
Con, Gom, Livvi, Malafindor, Merrick, Rasen you are all on a small Vesel making your way from the large city of Kindsguard. You all first met when you were walked onto the ship and set sail, you are maybe a day off until you reach your destination, the ship and its crew are yours to play with, get settled and get to know each other because the plan starts now.
You all sit in a small room with a bench around the edge, the wood is warped and bent from the years of use it has clearly seen but nether the less its some where to sit whilst spending a week at sea. The only light you have is from what was once an old gun window which is now just a port hole in the side. The sea is soft and the waves are smooth so luckily anyone who gets sea sick is safe. It smells of damp and salt but it will do,
The first real job. That's what it took for him to get in the door and once he was in, he was going to be one step closer to goals. He needed to take it all one step at a time: one day, one job, one mission at a time. Things were hopefully going to be significantly easier after this, that was the hope at least. But, he wasn't going to get ahead himself. Not this early in the game. Malafindor breathed in the salty breeze as he leaned over one of the vessel's side railings, looking out beyond into the expansive sea. The place was serene, beautiful. He could see himself coming here to meditate hours at a time. The calm lapping of the waters, the sound of the wind slapping against the sails, and the wood creaking underneath.
It was calming. And for the past hour he'd been in a sort of meditative trance of sorts, simply looking out and concentrating on his breathing. Not moving, simply thinking. But now that he was getting out of it, he could feel the agitation that was always hidden beneath the calm beginning to bubble up. His first real job in a long time. He'd done jobs before, but those were small time things. This one... this one was the real deal and he needed to impress.
Livvi stood out on the ship. Not so much because she was a girl - the crew had certainly had women passengers, and even crewmembers, before. They had even had pretty and privileged girls onboard. But they had never encountered someone who looked like an angel and talked like a sailor. Someone who carried herself like a princess but could wield a rapier or dagger like a pirate. Someone who could lift your spirits or crush your soul with a word and a gesture.
On this last day, Livvi will ask Con to quietly ask the other passengers if they are getting off in The Larches and if they might now where the Broken Lodge is. Hopefully, she and Con would meet up with the other members of the Guild who were on the same mission with them...
Just as Malafindor stirs out of his trance, Con strides up beside him and gives him a hefty slap on the back, almost sending him over the rail and into the water. You done with the meditating, then, Mal? he asks cheerfully. Everyone's headed down below, he nods towards the ladder he just came up, looking to have another meeting, you know, about what we're all doing when we get to where we're going, I suppose. Coming?
He notices Livvi walking up to him, and falls into line at her side.
Malafindor almost practically jolts at the slap, and looks over at Con, his body tensing for a moment before calming down. "A slight warning before you do that, big guy,"he says as he rolls his back, though there's a wry smile on his face. "Aye, I'll meet you downstairs,"
Rasen is already waiting for the others in the room, in one of it's darkest corner he had movend one of the chairs and is just sitting there waiting. He isn't particullary exicted about the new job, the one thing that made him accept the offer at the end, besides that he needed the money, is that the voyage carried him even far from home.
Gom has spent most of the trip rather quiet. Listening to everyone and anything. Trying to get a feel for the crew, and his new crew. He doesn't hide that he's listening really, and would often cock his head and look curiosity when he hears, or sees, something particularly interesting.
He would also spend some time up in the crow's nest. Both to look around, but more just to enjoy the wind beneath his arm/wings.
One other thing to notice is that he often keeps his hood up. And to most he just looks like any other crow-person you may have seen (though perhaps never have). When asked questions he generally would have answered with gestures or a nod or shaking his head, though occasionally you'll hear him repeat the sound of waves or dolphins or sea birds that happen past on this voyage.
Con after belittling the crew on deck you were able to find that there is no place named the broken lodge in The Larches but there is an end of the docks which is no longer used and has a few houses which have fallen into disarray.
Maland Livvi you found out in your own ways that there is word of a group trying to make a problem within the town, but your group haven't made a start yet.
Rasen you haven been sitting by yourself patiently attending to your equipment and you have a hot sensation over your body a comfortable heat but a heat none the less, it fills you with comfort in that you have made a decision to keep moving forward.
Gom you have listened and watched the crew walk and work with a variety of different languages not hearing anything in particular but just a lot of dialects.
Seeing that Con seems to be pretty strong, and taking, if not a leadership role, at least an imposing one on the boat, Gom will start to keep a bit closer to him. Also seeing that he and Livvi have some connection. Gom has learned that he does better when he can use others as a distraction for his actions. After Con asks the group to go down to a meeting Gom will look up at him, cock his head a bit, and perfectly repeat "Coming?" back at him.
Malafindor gives Gom a curious look when he repeats Con's "coming" as if the man had said it himself. He'd seen Gom's kind before during his time as a merchant, knew how peculiar they were, and just how grubby their hands could get, which only meant Gom was an asset to them. Who'd suspect the tiny creature of doing anything untowards? He'd certainly hadn't when he came across the Kenku for the first time.
Smiling to himself, he goes down below deck and enters the room where Rasen is sitting. "Greetings, friend," he says in Elvish, lightly touching his own forehead as was customary among his people when seeing other elves. He sits on one of the chairs and leans back, waiting for the rest to fill the room.
He'd been talking to the crew for the past few days, sparking idle conversation with them in hopes of gleaning any sort of information they had on Larches and the Broken Lodge, and although he couldn't gain any sort of significant information on the Lodge, he did learn there were strange goings on in Larches. From what he'd been told they were going to be the first to make a scene in the port town, and perhaps even establish a network that went back to the original source. But, from what they'd heard there was no crimes, and yet the crewmen of the ship were telling him otherwise. It was curious, and he wanted to find out what it was all about.
Merrick spends his journey keeping with his modus operandi. He wears a wooden sign of Ilmater. Weapons and armor carefully packed.
His pale skins and white horns jutting straight out from Raven black hair are hidden most of the time under layers of clothes and a hood.
He will go to the crew and heal and help. Always keeping an ear for information but never prying. He will ask about the places in the town where he would be most helpful.
He also keeps track of the others looking at them and seeing how they interact.
Con nods in response to Gom's echoing his words; Yup, we'll be right down, eh, milady?, directing the question at Livvi. He'd met a few similar birdfolk to Gom back in the city - slippery little buggers, and they'll take everything you've got if you're stupid and you underestimate them. Con had needed to learn that lesson the hard way, he thought ruefully, though A'kaar had ended up becoming a reliable partner on several jobs, and even a friend of sorts.
Con remains at Livvi's side, and will head down to the meeting when and if she does.
"หลังจากที่คุณที่แข็งแกร่งหนึ่ง" Livvi says to Con in a strange language. She follows him down to the meeting room, her dress and hair flowing smoothly as she walks.
(Draconic:)
After you, strong one.
The pair enter the room as if they own it, and she sits easily on a padded chair as befits a lady! "So, this is the crew they gave us, hmm," she says to Con. "Well, introduce yourselves and how you can be useful to us."Although she wasn't actually in charge, Livvi found that if she didn't take control of a group they would assume that she was just their pretty plaything. And she hatedthat...so she always made the first power move. It was just easier that way.
Con snorts at Livvi's words, then follows her down into the little meeting room. He settles into a chair near the door, leans back, folds his arms and watches as the scene unfolds. He's seen Livvi give this performance many times now, with many successes and - a wry smile crosses his face - some spectacular failures. He scans the group of people he's only recently met, and tries to guess how they'll react.

But they had never encountered someone who looked like an angel and talked like a sailor. Someone who carried herself like a princess but could wield a rapier or dagger like a pirate. Someone who could lift your spirits or crush your soul with a word and a gesture.
Livvi spent her time aboard the ship talking and flirting with the crew. She never rebuffed anyone outright, giving them a glimmer of hope that they had a chance with her without compromising herself in any way. Besides, she had Con to bust anyone's fingers who dared to lay a hand on her! Each night she practiced her bard skills in the mess room, singing and playing her pan flute. Because of her training, she knew songs that made the crew sing along with bawdy abandon, or look silently into their mugs of grog wistfully longing for that one love from home.
On this last day, Livvi will ask Con to quietly ask the other passengers if they are getting off in The Larches and if they might now where the Broken Lodge is. Hopefully, she and Con would meet up with the other members of the Guild who were on the same mission with them...
