Zakon is wary of the whole situation, especially Leokus. He would prefer to notify the leaders here in Cherkobe, rather than bring attention to the group (and himself) from the Council of Nine. Councils, in his experience, are nothing but blowhards who cause trouble. "A generous offer," he says genially to Leokus. "But since we are already here, I think we'd prefer to continue on with our original plans. Of course, you could take the information to the Council yourself, since you have their ear."
Wysayra thinks Leokus is a snobbish prick and wants nothing to do with him. she just wants to put the massacre behind her and make it someone else's problem
Saryn comes barging back into the inn, joyfully weeping and laughing. “The sun is up! The sun is up! Have you ever seen such a beautiful sight? I thought I’d never see it again.” She darts all around the inn, hugging folks, while continuing to laugh, cry, and rant about the sun.
[If you can humor me until Saturday, I'll post then. I have a very big project for work this week and I need to put all my time into that. I haven't forgotten you all.]

Viaya's brow creased in a clear look of disdain. The last thing she ever wanted to do was help someone the likes of Leokus Glimmergaunt. He could go throw himself in a well, for all she cared. Still, decorum dictated that she dismiss him civilly. "As generous as that offer is, Leokus," she said, fighting back her urge to gag. "I believe our mission is too important to let ourselves get sidetracked. I understand your point, but we need to let the village decide how they want to proceed with this information. Going straight to the capital could cause a panic. I hope you can understand, and besides, maybe you could take care of alerting the capital for us."
Leokus' face momentarily looked as though he was about to boil over with rage, but he kept his composure. "I suppose there is no convincing you then," he said. "Very well, then. I would like to help you, but I do have my own matters to attend to at the moment. Perhaps if I'm not held off too long by this errand, I may get back in time to speak to the Nine." He shrugged. "Perhaps not either. Good day, Miss Morebrew. I hope our paths can cross again."
Before he left, Viaya grabbed his collar to whisper something in his ear. Her tone clearly shaper and serious. Leokus listened, but his face gave away no signs as to what was said. He only nodded and strode away just as cooly as he had arrived. Viaya seemed to return to herself. "Alright then, off to speak to the mayor then?"

"Yes!! A walk through the sun to see the mayor! Do you think they might want to meet outside?" Following the others out of the inn the strange little gnome flings her arms wide as she enters the sun once more.
Wysayra looks around for an indication of where the local authority would be or someone to give directions "yes let's get this over with quickly" a shudder goes through her "this place is not that far from the massacre it could be next and soon" she closes her eyes as images of the slaughter superimpose over the street. she reaches for the hilt of her sword and not finding it starts to fall into the flashback glancing around terrified whispering "where is it, oh god..."
[I'm not sure if I'm playing "PTSD young elf" a bit too strong or not. if I am and its causing problems let me know please and I will tone it down.]
Zakon looks over atWysayrawith concern. Patting her gently on the shoulder, he says, "Easy there, young one. You're among friends. Let's get this over with, shall we?" He motions towards the door of the inn, trying to gently herd Wysayra in that direction.
Viaya hands Wysayra the sword back. "Sorry, I just got caught up with that conversation with Leokus. I'm afraid we can't get much proof from it. I'm hoping our testimony alone might do something."
The streets of Cherkobe are relatively busy, as most merchant towns are in the early morning. Sellers are peddling items off their carts. Business deals are being haggled out between buyers and merchants. Everything feels typical. It's hard to believe that a whole area like Goyag has tried to remain completely neutral in a brutal war.
In the center of the town is a building taller than the rest, meaning it's obvious that it must belong to the mayor who holds political control here. It's not much, since elven lands are usually at peace and only require guidance from the Nine in extreme emergencies. Therefore, formalities are not a big deal, and you are presently escorted to the tall, thin, elven man who greets you with a smile. "Well met, travelers," he says. "If it's directions to your next destination you're after, we can certainly help with that." Many travelers pass through Cherkobe on their way to other destinations in Goyag. It must be a common occurrence here.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Zakon remains near the back, with Saryn, preferring to let Viaya speak with the elves. His eyes dart around the room, looking for any threats or oddities.
Not sure if perception or investigation applies, so I'll roll both: Perception 16 Investigation: 11
Viaya wasn't eager to speak, but being a part of elven culture, and fitting into her high birth, she really had no choice but to take the lead. "We aren't really looking for directions," she began. "We just came from Kolovoro, or what's left of it. Valcimonian forces destroyed the village with the intention of leaving no survivors. As far as we know, we're among the lucky ones who lived. It is clear at this point that the war is no longer going to stay outside our borders. We cannot stand by and watch, not when other villages are at risk."
The mayor's face immediately fell with each sentence. His brows furrowed."This is a very serious matter..."he says almost breathlessly. "We have thus far made no alliances in the war, taken no acts of aggression, nothing that could provoke this sort of thing. Then again, I suppose it isn't a far leap of the imagination to see Valcimonia getting more hostile. I'm afraid what you ask here is a bit much for somewhere as small as here. I thank you for your information. We shall make necessary preparations, and I will be sending messengers to nearby areas to warn them. However, I'm not sure that will be enough."
He began pulling out a piece of parchment and began scribbling something down quickly. "Considering how you were able to survive something of this magnitude, I trust in your abilities and fortitude. I will be sending you with a copy of the letter I will be sending with my messengers. I ask that you make your way to Golorere and hand-deliver this document to the Nine. It is imperative that the capital is made aware of this and we can start making real preparations. Can I trust you to handle this task?"

Theo takes note of Saryn's joy at a new day. He smiles. "It is a blessing is it not?"
He does not sense the depth of ties between Viaya and Leokus but can see she is conflicted by his appearance.
"Zakon, that is a fine idea. What say you Mr. Leokus?"
