OOC: No probs. Sometimes the initiative will change your situation, just giving you the option!
As the others pile in around him, Arkhan strides forwards, his own long sword in hand flickering brightly with long forks of electricity. He swings into the fire, slashing at the screeching zombie.
Arkhan Attack Roll: 9
Just as the dragonborns blade enters the fire, the zombie lurches backwards, howling as Brots’ arrow shaft plunged into its chest. To his obvious disgust, the Dragonborns strike misses its target. Frustrated, he raises his longsword once more, fuelled by his anger.
Regaining its balance, the burning zombie launches itself out of the flames into the arms of the awaiting Zyltris. Slashing wildly with its claws, the undead soldier grasps for flesh, scratching at the elf’s shining armour.
Zombie 3 Attack Roll: 4 (+ Vicious Mockery D/A)
Without flinching, Zyltris lashes out with his crowbar, knocking the beast backward into the flames once more. Another roar of anger ripples through the fort as the intense heat engulfs it’s body.
With a whoosh of searing heat the zombies body crispers and falls to the floor, a shrivelled black carcass encased in blackened armour. In the doorway, Zyltris gags slightly as the smell of burnt flesh wafts past him into the open air. Beside him, the second of the zombies has turned to face the threat from behind, lashing out at Beetle with a handful of sharp claws.
Zombie 4 Attack Roll: 16
Pointed claws scrape at the paladins steel chain mail, ringing out but causing no harm. Beetle merely smiles, almost mocking the creatures attack, before lifting his own weapon once more.
The single defined groan from the southern room suddenly grows louder. A heavy thud echoes through the corridor as a frantically clawing creature throws itself at the door.

A hinge snaps free from the doorway as the door heaves under the pressure leaning against it, bouncing away down the corridor. The beast snarls as the scraping intensifies, the wood weakening with each strike.
OOC: Also realise now that I've forgotten about a save earlier in the round. Beetle needed to make a Constitution Save after striking the zombie.
Beetle Constitution Save: 5 Save DC: 10

Taking a strategic long stride away from the increasingly noisy door behind him, Serak takes a quick glance into the north room. The bard flicks his head towards the loud crashing behind him and makes eye contact with the remaining zombie. “Friends of yours?”
Zombie 4 Wisdom Save: 4 Spell Save DC: 13
He smirks to himself as he slinks away down the corridor. Stupid creatures. Assured that the others will make short work of the remaining zombie, Serak sidles up beside the patiently waiting Druid. “I trust the situation is under control then? Say the word and I’m sure this old fool will gladly sort them out for you.” Jelenneth playfully nudges her husband sharply with an elbow, though Dayereth struggles to see the humour. The old monks eyes fixed firmly on the flickering firelight at the end of the corridor.
Doubled over, Beetle struggles to breathe as the thick black ash chokes his lungs. He shuts his eyes tightly, trying desperately to force out the tears clouding his vision. The paladin lifts his long sword and brings it down onto the silhouette standing before him.
As the ash clears, Beetle finally manages to open his eyes. He pulls Talon, wet with blackened blood from the crumpled body on the floor. The undead soldier seemingly no match for modern steel. With the room clear he turns to the others, suddenly aware of the loud noises coming from the door on the opposite side of the corridor.
OOC: Sorry guys, long day today! The two zombies are dead (again).
Syna and Arkhan, your target isn't available anymore. It's up to you what you guys want to do next.
Syna, letting the fire die, moves across the room to stand beside Serak and opens the door. If an unfriendly is in the doorway, he will attack with his scimitar. Attack: 15 Damage: 8
OCC: I will be out of town from tomorrow, till Sunday and not sure of connectivity.

Racing inside, Syna clicks his fingers extinguishing the bonfire as he leaps through the flames. Squeezing between the others in the room, the druid draws his scimitar, and reaches to release the beast from the other side of the door. "Hold on Syna" A voice behind him speaks authoritatively, "Allow me." Zyltris rams the crowbar into the doorway, prying open a gap in the frame.
Zyltris Strength Check: 21
In an explosion of splinters the door falls to the floor, revealing the beast inside. An undead solider much like the others, but much larger and well presented. The zombies chain mail, though as aged and broken as the others, is emblazoned with the sigil of Thundertree - a single lightening strike before an oak tree. Without hesitation Syna stabs at the beast, thrusting his scimitar between the folds in the zombies armour.

Syna Constitution Save: 18 Zyltris Constitution Save: 19
The druids blade easily penetrates the zombies armour, releasing a foul smelling goo from the creatures side. As he withdraws his blade, a sudden explosion of thick blade smoke fills the doorway. An ashen taste fills the druids mouth, burning his eyes as the dust cloud billows around his head. Zyltris, doubles over, coughing furiously at the deluge. As tears well up in Synas eyes, his vision blurs. The zombie takes a heavy step forward, grumbling to itself as it assesses the prey before it.
WHEEE! A high pitched shriek fills the corridor as a projectile soars over Zyltris shoulder.
Brots Attack Roll: 15 Damage: 10
Brots' arrow scores a direct hit, planting itself deep into the zombies chest, smashing the Thundertree sigil to pieces. The zombie staggers backwards slightly, groaning in a mixture of pain and anger until it finally regathers its balance. Raising a clawed arm in anger, it swings an attack through the doorway.
OOC: Back to Arkhan again. I'll post up an updated map now that the southern room is opened...
Arkhan roars with frustration as the third zombie is revealed. As he moves into the corridor, he reaches a hand out for the beast. Long electrical arcs from shoot from his fingers, grasping for a target until finally clinging tightly onto the zombies armour.
With a whip of his thick arm, Arkhan yanks the undead soldier effortlessly from its position. The crackling beams of electricity between the pair intensify as the zombie nears the Dragonborn, filling the air with the putrid smell of burning flesh. Releasing the creature midair, Arkhan stands tall over his capture as it falls before him, sparks still creeping over the patches of steel on its armour. The Dragonborn snorts, daring the creature to move.
Staggering to its feet, the zombie hisses weakly, it’s body still convulsing from the intense shock of electricity. Without warning the rotting corpse launches itself at Arkhan, scratching at his golden skin as it tries to grasp him.
Zombie 5 Attack Roll: 21 Damage: 2
Arkhan reacts fast, sending a backhanded swipe across the zombies face before it could properly grab hold. The zombie barely managing to land a scratch before it is put in its place. A flesh wound, nothing to worry about.
OOC: Finally got one Arkhan! Both Arkhan and Z5 are in the corridor now. I’ll draw up round 3s map ASAP.
Seraks nasal voice echoes down the corridor, ringing in what remains of the zombies ears as it staggers back to its feet.
Zombie 5 Wisdom Save: 20 Spell Save DC: 13
The zombies show no reaction to the insult. Standing upright once more, the braindead creature gargles, cackling an inaudible response, barely able to keep its balance. As it flicks a long black tongue from its mouth, a thin sliver of grey drool splatters across Arkhans chest.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
OOC: Think you’re a round behind! You’re clear of the ash now. I’ll move you one square east and take the same attack if that suits
Following the yells into the corridor, Beetle appears in the doorway, Talon in hand. The paladin swings his arm, his blade sounding sweetly as it slices through the air.
Beetle Attack Roll: 20 Damage: 11 (Your damage roll for Longsword is 1d8+4 so I've just taken 1 off your rolled total.)
The zombie makes no sound as Talon cleaves its head cleanly from its shoulders, falling into a motionless crumpled pile on the floor. Rolling down the slight slope of the corridor, the head slowly comes to a stop, its blackened eyes staring at the ceiling. The silence from outside infiltrates the fort, broken by a slight metallic squeak as Beetle wipes his blade clean of thick black gunk.
OOC: You made short work of this guy too! Sooner these NPCs are gone the better lol. 25xp this time for each of you!
ooc: don't want to cheese my way into a new roll, so i'll still burst in and swing as previously stated.
