Evening was coming soon, and you realized that stopping to help the injured farmer has delayed you so that you will not reach the next hamlet before nightfall. The early spring air has been getting heavier and more oppressive as dark, threatening clouds roll in from the east. As the light fades fog begins to gather in the ditches along the road, growing thicker and until it covers the road. As the distance becomes hazy in the fog, a single light shines out in the distance.
As you approach, the light resolves itself into several lights. The lights of windows in a building. It is a large two-story building, with a stable and a well to one side. It is far too large to be a house, and in fact, it almost looks like an inn.
As you approach the building, you see it is a decently constructed, two-story, stone and wood edifice. A lamp hangs from a spar protruding from the wall, illuminating a green sign with red trim. In flowing, golden script the sign proclaims that this place is the “Tavern of Nezhyti.” From inside the tavern comes the sound of laughter and music, the clinking of mugs, and the delicious aroma of good food.
Terrance enters second closely behind Horus. "Awoooo that smells great." He howls as the door starts to swing shut behind him. "Sure is a lot nicer in here than out there tonight." He walks on over to the bar and takes off his backpack. Letting it lean against the stool he lifts himself on top of it and takes a deep breathe. "Sure is nice to be sitting after a long journey friend. Maybe you could send a hot meal my way as well?" He says to the bartender pulling out his coin purse.
Knowledge History: ((Does Nezhyti mean anything to me?)) 20
The near 7 foot tall Dragonborn lumbers behind the group. The sound of metal sliding and clanging against metal caused by a worn but still sharp battleaxe hanging from his hip. His silver scales are dirty and lacks the luster they would have because of it. He looks at the sign on the building but as to stop for a few moments to read it. "Tavern of.......Ne-nezith? what does that even mean?" His voice is as deep as you'd expect from someone of his size, Gravelly on the tongue and Kinda raspy. No matter how warm the air, When he breaths its like he's in the middle of a frozen tundra, his breath always see-able in the air.
Darwin checks his coin pouch, he has some money but not a whole lot. Maybe....maybe he'd sleep in the stable, Made rooms were always too small and uncomfortable for him anyway. "Terrence, what does nezith mean?" He tries to get the attention of his Gnome companion before he enters the inn.
Edit: ("Nezith" comes from Darwins inability to pronounce Nezhyti, He can barely read common so it makes sense for him to mess up words from time to time.)

Andolin enters the tavern and quickly scans the room for threats or anything that seems out of place as he makes his way to join Horus to keep a look out.

He sets his bag down and leans back in his chair, stretching his back from the long day of travel. He then turns to Horus and says, “Seems quiet. What a day...didn’t know if that farmer would make it. Good thing we have healers.”
Following the group into the tavern, Wren picks the chair at Horus's table with the fewest people behind him. He scans the room, checking and rechecking the faces that are visible to him to make sure that he doesn't recognize anyone. Startled by the bartender he didn't seem to have noticed, he quietly says "A meal sounds good. Water too if you have it."
After Terrance gets his meal he dives in immediately. Stuffing warm buttered biscuits into his mouth with one hand while pouring the gravy over the fresh potatoes with the other. Pausing to chew he looks back at his group. Some of them settling in, getting a drink or a meal but others seemed to be oddly shufling around seeming unsure and standing off on the sides.
Terrance had only met his compatriots over last few weeks but had grown quite fond of them in that time. Especially Darwin, while their patron deity wasn't the same they saw eye to eye on most things and he had proven him self a very capable fighter, as well as a loyal ally.
Leaning towards the bartender he whispers, "Hey get me another big meal but heavy on the meat alright?"
When the barmaid arrives with his second plate he turns around and yells across the inn, "DARWIN get over here you must be exhausted from earlier." Jumping down from his stool he makes his way over to the dragonborn. "Still can't quite believe you were able to lift the cart off that poor farmer on your own. Woulda taken 10 gnomes to do that. Here's a plate to help you get your energy back." Terrance finishes as he passes the large plate fill of sausages, assorted vegetables and other fixings.

Horus gives a barely perceptible nod and gestures to Terrance and Darwin.
“Their gifts are incredible. It’s sort of affirming to be among them, don’t you think? If their gods have blessed them so, we must be in good company.”
With food in front of him, Wren seems to relax and dives in. Hearing Andolin and Horus, he snickers "Not much for priests myself, but their pontifications can make for a great distraction." Looking over to where Terrance and Darwin are sitting, he asks, "Doesn't their presence unnerve you a bit? Im not too keen on having the gods watching too closely. Guess they'll be useful where we are going though, and it was fine impressive how Darwin lifted that cart like it were a twig."
Walking slightly behind her companions, Cellica was lost in thought. They had been delayed by helping that Farmer and though Cell didn't mind helping others, it was basically the core of her being, she was slightly dissapointed that it had taken them so much time. Trailing behind her group into the inn, Cellica sat down, looking around a little bit to see what kind of people were sitting at the Inn that they had decided would be their lodgings for tonight. Cell hadn't been travelling long now. She had only left the monestary mere months ago so she wasn't as knowledgable about the adventuring or outside world as her companions were. Gladly she was a quick study and was happy, maybe even lucky, that she found people who were wiser than her and who she could learn from.

The doors open to reveal a pleasant tavern within. A fireplace roars from across the room, warming up the interior of the tavern, and providing a warm glow to the room. To the right of the fireplace stands a wooden bar, over which watches a very unlucky bugbear. Several lamps hanging from wooden posts light up the rest of the place. There are about 10 patrons or so, sitting at the various tables and talking loudly. A bewitchingly beautiful serving lass walks around, passing out fresh mugs of ale. Behind the bar is a pudgy man, who looks to be in his forties. His head is balding, and his hair graying, but he laughs with the air of youth at a jest made by one of the men he is talking to.
Upon seeing you enter he bellows in a heavy accent, “Hello travelers. Nezhyti is me, and I am Nezhyti. What can I do for you this fine evening?”
Deciding to order drinks, the lass introduces herself as Olena, Nezhyti's daughter. She informs you, in a lilting accent similar to her father's, that they ale by the pint for a mere 5 coppers, beers for 3 coppers, merchant’s meals for 5 coppers, and rich meals for 10 silver pieces.
Room:
1) The Common room has two fireplaces along the far wall.
2) The bar sits before one of the fireplaces, with Nezhyti behind it, and two muscular men in hardened leather armor daggers and short swords sit on stools before the bar.
3) Stairs leading up
A) Two middle-aged men sit here, there table littered with scrolls and books (as well as tankards) to which they return their attention and whispers.
B) An elderly man sits here, dressed in brown robes, with a large symbol about his neck. He is enjoying a fine glass of wine and a roasted chicken.
C) A dwarf and two halflings are sitting here, chatting amiably. All of them are fairly young.
D) An elderly man, who is clearly blind, and his youthful daughter sit here. At the man’s feet is a rather large dog.
F) Three men in fine travelling clothes sit here drinking, and discussing.
Darwin does look and feel out of place, in a tavern full of mostly humanoid folk. He sticks out like a sore thumb, Not only because of his size but of his scales as well. Darwin was just idly shifting threw the tavern before he heard his Gnome friend, hurrying over to him with a plate of food in hand.
"Thanks Terrence, I am feeling kinda hungry." The dragonborns toothy grin comes out at the mention of his aid with the cart, He was proud that he could do things like that; Not only helping folk but also lifting things others couldn't. "Dont forget you were the one who healed that wound on his leg Terrence, thanks to you that man can walk without pain." He follows Terrence back towards where he had been sitting and takes a seat beside him. He practically swallows the meal whole, barely taking time to chew. Kinda hungry was an understatement. "Nezith! can I get two pints here? one for my friend and one for me."
He hadn't known Terrence for long but he liked the Gnome, He was kind to Darwin and didn't judge him by his lack of book learned skills. While they did worship different deities It was nice to have another of faith close by, It made Darwin feel like perhaps two gods were watching over them. He didn't mind the others but they did seem.....different to him, he wasn't sure if it was because of their lack of faith or something else entirely.
(Sorry Horus, Darwin has LOW passive perception. He would've never seen your gesture towards him and Terrence.)

Hearing the prices for the meals, her stomache began to grumble as if in answer to her silent question. Cellica watched as everyone ordered some food and decided to get a Merchants meal as well, putting down a silver for Olena. Cellica eyes the two armed men who were sitting at the bar, they clearly had seen some action in their day. A little weary by the crowd in the tavern she kept her eye on everyone to see if anyone acted differently or weird or hostile.
She also glanced at her companions who were getting to know each other and smiled slightly. She was the quiet one, the one who would watch and observe before getting close to people and trust them.

Terrance eventually makes his way back to his seat. After sitting down at his almost empty meal he waits a moment and then says a brief prayer. In doing so he tries to stealthily cast Detect Evil and Good. Afterwords he takes a look around.
Darwin hungrily finishes the meal in front of him and downs the pint of ale, He belches loudly and wipes his mouth on his sleeve. Noticing Terrance praying beside him, Darwin will shift his attention to the tavern floor, looking around to see where the rest of his companions are. Spotting the "Weird ones" sitting in the corner, He called those three in particular weird simply because they never seem to be quite as thankful for life as Him and Terrance.
Noticing Cellica sitting away from either group, Darwin waves both of his arms to get her attention. The sound of chain mail clanging against itself loudly takes the air. "CELLICA COME SIT AND HAVE A DRINK WITH TERRANCE AND ME!" Abrupt, Loud and seemingly unaware or uncaring of the other patrons, Darwin may be a Paladin and a believer in faith but he sure doesn't come off like it.
In truth, Darwin liked Cellica almost as much as he liked Terrance. She wasn't like the other three who just seemed to prefer quiet and liked the shadows. Soft spoken but strong willed he thought, That and she was ALMOST as strong as him which was impressive given her much smaller frame.

Andolin shot a glance over to Wren and wondered, not for the first time, what the young human was running from. "I'm pretty sure the gods are watching whether their priests are here or not. And it seems wider to have them with us than against. I suspect we will all be grateful for their gifts before this is over."
As he orders a merchant's meal and water from Olena, Andolin takes a particular note of the men at the table whispering between themselves, the large dog, and the older gentleman with the large symbol around his neck.
Olena smiles, "I believe we have a room left, 3 bunkbeds, and it is 4sp per night." The she looks at Darwin, "Don't see many Dragonborn, but if you'd like, I can have Dad put a couple mattresses on the floor for you. Sorry, but it is really the best we can do. Its a normal night. With the crossroads, at the bottom of the hill, we get a lot of travelers."
She nods her head in the direction of the two middle aged men, "Mages, they are. Meet here once a moon, stay the night. Friendly enough, but not very sociable. The rest, well travelers. Those three", nodding to the table of men, "are merchants, on their way to Waterdeep. The two at the bar are their guards. The old man, he's some kind of Priest, some god I ain't ever heard tell of. Cellica had been quietly eating her food and enjoying the flavor of it. It wasn't much special but after spending days on rations she was happy to have some meat in her system. "Hello Boys, what are you plotting so far away from the others?" Cellica asked before taking a sip of the drink in front of her.
