Thieven reply with a pinch of sarcasm "Yeah, I forgot to carry out all the polite manners, I am Thieven, the local druid, and you comrade? It seems you are another forest guard, and your companion, what Leb stands for?"
"Anyway, lets try to be as efficient as possible, you can go to the temple while me and Asgar will go to examine poor Poffer's body...if everything will be ok, we will met up tomorrow, good luck"
"Me? I stand for... " she exchanges a funny look with Alerian. " I guess that I stand for getting into troubles... and getting friends out of them " she winks.
"It's a pleasure to meet you all. And first of all let me thank you for coming into our aid. I admit that I don't like all of this. Mists that kill people and missing powerful magic amulets. We must be very careful.
Well we split then. See you tomorrow. Try not to get yourself into trouble. "
"Alerian, Al, Arrows, whatever you call me is fine. Good to see someone else from the wilds coming into town for some good works. I'll admit I prefer the trees to buildings, though."

The four of you head to the Temple of the Seven Gods, Asgar and Thieven are shown to the body of the old farmer. Meanwhile, Lebenha and Alerian meet with one of the initiates. The initiate explains "We are a small temple with very little need for a large stock of holy water. I am afraid that all we can spare are these four vials. I pray to Erathis that it will be enough to assist you during your mission." During this exchange the old priest, Argulan, arrives. "My children, I am sorry for the lack of holy water. It is difficult and expensive to craft and I failed to see this evil coming. I can offer you a few vials of sacrament oil, though I am not sure what use they may be. And..." he reaches into the folds of his vestament and produces a crock " a long time ago the old sorcerer himself gave us this as a tithe, although I don't know why he never came to the temple for anything. It is Alchemist's Fire, so be very careful with it. Perhaps it will be of assistance to you."
Asgar & Thieven please roll a Medicine and a Investigation check while examining the body.

Lebenha thanks, both the initate and the old priest.
"No one could have expected something like this Argulan. Your help is highly appreciated. Do you know what's in the crock?" she says when the priest handle it to them.
she let Alerian speak with the old priest and when they are leaving she stops at the door and looks back at the priest. She adds. " Better to make some more holy water Argulan. In case we don't come back."
Asgar - When you first see the body of Poffer it certain looks like an attack from some sort of undead creature. His skin is that tell-tale sickly pallid tenor that accompanies every undead attack. And you find no wounds on the body, however, when you check his hands you notice a bluish hue to his fingernails, which you have seen when someone suffocates or is choked. You check his throat but find no marks, you open his mouth just to be and noticed the faint odor of brimstone on his breath. Something doesn't feel right so you open his eyes just to be sure and instead of the bleached colorless eyes you expected you find his eyes are almost normal, except for the strange ochre tinge around the irises. You are not sure what killed this man but you suspect that it was not some undead spirit.
What do each of you want to do now?

"I think we may need to have a talk with Poffer's widow, to find out if there's something she's forgot to mention, on purpose or not..."
@DM: would Asgar know whether or not there's any chance of the body of Poffer to rise from the dead? Would it be safe to leave him here in the Temple for the night?
After carefully listened Asgar findings, Thieven wants to try to find any signs of Arcane magic or power used on Poffer. In the meanwhile, does he could know more about eye color changing or unmarked choking?
"Sure we can Asgar but I don't know what she could tell us more than his body, this story starts to puzzling more, not a blessed sign"
Ivan, how is Thieven going to try to detect any arcane presence? You did a good job telling me what you hope to accomplish now tell me how your character is going to go about it.

(ooc) Well, I suppose that cause Thieven doesn't have any specific spell to do it, he will better look at the signs noticed from Asgar, such as the color change around the iridis, or the brimstone's odor in his mouth and try to understand if these can be magical alteriations, moreover he will try to see maybe any direct or indirect effect (such a scar or sign)t of a spell or magical beast on Poffer's body.

Yes an Arcana check is required but not in the way you are probably thinking. Arcana is usually a knowledge skill and I believe that knowledge skills should be passive checks. So I always gate my information and if a PCs passive knowledge skill is high enough then I will reveal the knowledge required. However, Arcana can also be used in an intuitive way, as an extension of a PCs senses. This use of the skill is limited to those natural spellcasters who happen to be proficient in Arcana, which our dear friend Thieven happens to qualify on both accounts.
Thieven after that lengthy explanation please make me a Arcana check but use your Wisdom modifier instead of Intelligence.

Thieven senses that there is no necrotic energy residue on the body, he also remembers that while brimstone is a sign of infernal forces it is also used in other conjuration and evocation spells.
Asgar, unfortunately no one knows exactly all the causes of the curse of undeath or who may be afflicted, while some causes such as vampirism and the rituals of lichdom are known there are so many others that aren't.
