Belaluin thinks to himself "How unlucky can one be. It's better to prepare for retaliation. Things are about to get interesting". As he casts the spell he prepares for defense. In order to deceive Parth in case he attacks, he prepares a cast "minor illusion" of himself right near Parth as he moves back 15 feet.
Parth's eyebrows furrow together and he starts turning a sickly looking greenish grey while a big vein pops out in his forehead. His face starts to contort into a mask of rage and then...
He sneezes and starts to laugh maniacally... "Bwahahaha, hahaha, Oh my. Did you try to spell me young one?" He continues laughing with tears starting to form in his eyes. "I don't know if you've got the biggest sack I've seen in a while or you're just dim, but, hahaha... I haven't had a laugh like that in a good long while. I'll thank you for that!"
As he starts to get his laughing back under control he says "Perhaps we will talk more about what you were hoping to accomplish with that but that will have to wait for the moment. We may have company"
He gets a serious look on his face for a moment and says "Next time something like that happens, I won't be laughing. It is part of the agreement that I am not responsible for your deaths... however they may happen"
Wormsquint, You fairly easily back away from the fire and find shadows to (mostly) go unnoticed in. Once you get away from the wood smoke of the fire you smell a most pleasant aroma of cooking coming from somewhere near the main house.
ooc: I usually whiteboard draw everything out, but I wanted to check out some online map editors. Not so impressed. I'll draw the other maps as needed. this is the basics of Parth's camp. The camp is surrounded by crude low wood walls. About 40" tall on average. higher in some places, lower in other. The 2 buildings with the 4 doors are low roofed, barrack style buildings. The building on the left is a house with a tall peeked roof. Fire-pit with bench and stumps in the middle and some standard training gear along the south wall. Training dummies, workbenches and practice weapons on racks.
Having been completely oblivious to the spell casting, Zarbof has no idea what the warning was for, and assumes that Parth is just a little volatile, but all the same makes a mental note to stay on his good side if possible.
Zarbof wanders over to take a look at the workbenches.
We have people doing different things so I want to re-cap where everyone is.
Belialuin has moved 15' away from Parth and both are still near the firepit.
Roger is watching what unflods between Parth and Belianuin, still by the firepit.
Mysti has been very concerned about the tale of Gnolls following Wormsquint and has started to wander away from the fire and is actively scanning the walls.
Wormsquint has moved away from the fire and disappeared into the shadows.
Zarbof is making his way over to the workbenches by the southern wall.
Thorum is sitting by the fire, watching everything unfold.
I have messaged some of you information about what you see leaving the area of the fire. It's up to you what you do with that info.
Yes, from what you can see approaching the workbenches it looks pretty basic. Looks like it's mainly used for repairing practice weapons. Leather scraps, jars of what you figure is probably glue, binding twine, brads, some small hammers and carving tools.
Thorum stands and looks at the setup of the camp and says "Parth, this is a very nice setup you have made. If you don't mind me asking, what is the story behind the creation of your training camp? Any interesting stories to tell about your journey to get to this point?"
"Well, I'm surprised the tale hasn't reached your side of the woods. It is well known in these parts. We have much to do and have dallied overly long so I will give you the short version for now."
He gets a distant look in his eye and a slight frown, as if he'd deciding how much to tell. Finally with a huff he says,
"I once had a son. A strong warrior, bound for greatness." He pauses and you think he may not speak again, finally he says "I failed him. I had not prepared him for the cruelties of this world and it cost him his life. I wandered, broken and angry for many years until I stumbled into this place. Knowing the fate of some of your folk in this realm I'm sure you, of most Thorum, can understand the loss of family."
"The man who owned it then gave me direction, gave me a purpose. I... inherited this place and carried on his name. After his death I vowed never to leave another young one unprepared who is in my charge."
Thorum readies his bow and says "I have heard rumors during my travels here, but hoped to hear directly from you. I understand fully the weight of a family member loss. Perhaps we can speak more on the subject later. For now seems the time for action is upon us."
Belialuin moves right behind Thorum and Parth while drawing his light crossbow and says with a happy smile "Well doesn't trouble always come looking for me. Let's start with the "cleanup" gentlemen, shall we? " As he prepares to attack anything that comes their way.
Mysti hears the whistle blows, sees Parth and few others ready weapons. She gracefully moves to flank Parth to the left sliding her warhamjer out and shield ready. “If it’s the gnolls I am ready to send them from this Plane.” With that she can be heard uttering a few words to her diety, Tyr, then continues, “ bring it we are ready!!!”

Parth is interrupted by 3 short whistle blows.
"Ah, that would be the lookouts now"
"Nothing to worry about. Hmm, I suppose the little kobald was right. Now where has he gone off to?"
Parth doesnt not look concerned at all, but does draw his sword
