Sven stares blankly while thinking for a moment. Does he remember any times that the goblins used a distress signal in the past? "Hmmm, trying to remember if they have used a distress signal before."
Hearing Pop's suggestion, Brats chuckles. "Wouldn't we all Pops, unfortunately we don't have one here. How about I mimic a loud goblin scream, and when they come rushing out, we ambush them. You'll have plenty opportunities to make them scream then Pops."
"It's a rare cave home which doesn't have a back door. I'd also like to circle around and get some high ground. Maybe we can lure 'em out and ambush the ambushers."
(OCC: How steep is the hillside? Would we have a visual advantage from above/behind?)
The cave is in the hillside. Around the opening of the cave is mostly flat. There would be no low/high ground in the area.

Hopefully a map will clear up some questions you have. Pops made it to the blue circle. Just enough to get a lay of the land. He returned back down the trail, south west, about a quarter mile where you all are currently.
(OOC: I guess my question is: Can Pops get up onto the hill - assuming that's what the light brown area is on the map?)
"It might be prudent to see what's behind that thicket on the right, too. Might be a good staging area for our ambush.
(OOC: Where's the trail? Does it lead to the cave? On the left side of the stream? Does the path go into the cave, too, or will we be wading our way into the cave? How loud is the stream?)

The cave is inset into the hill. You can go around and fight your way up through thicket.
The trail you followed came to an open clearing. There is another “trail,” more of a path, on the east side of the stream. It leads north into the mouth of the cave. The stream is not very loud. It’s very shallow from what you can tell.
Sven chokes a little and coughs at the same time as he clearly is trying to suppress a hearty chuckle. "Aye Pops, the goal is to make all of the goblins scream. It is just trying to figure out the best way to do so without facing them all at once!" Sven beams with a giant grin on his face. "So which way do we go in? Or do we want to try to lure some out with the Brats suggestion? It may well work, or it may just get rid of our element of surprise..."
"I'm not sure I want to bushwhack my way up the hill, but I'm not ruling out that plan quite yet. ...But right now, unless anyone has any serious objections, I'm going to scout out that thicket and see if I can't get a closer look at the cave mouth. I'll be right back."
(Pops will attempt to cross the stream well downstream, out of sight of the cave mouth, if possible. Then if he deems it possible, he'll attempt to stealthily make his way up through the vegetation on the right and scout out the blacked-out area to the right of the cave mouth. Stealth:11 . Then, he'll try to get as close as prudent to the cave mouth to check out the area. Are there traps? Additional cave entrances? Evidence of arrow slits or defenses? Observation posts? Sounds emanating from the cave mouth? Perception: 15. )
"I keep thinking back on that first encounter. Those goblins did not want a fight. They ran away. They are cowards. So how does one fight a coward? If we attempt to lure them we will need to prevent them from going back into the cave. I am no tactician, but what if we were to stage two of us on either side of the cave and use the remaining fifth member as bait to lure them out. We then have their ability to retreat blocked. "
Brats raises his hand as an offering. "I will gladly be the bait! I will mimic a goblin scream, lure them out and you guys can jump on them as I attack them from the distance. That is of course if Pops doesn't find something better."

You can cross the stream with ease, but the thicket there is thick. There’s no going through there.
"It seems trying to lure them out may not be the best idea. If they do not expect company they may only have one or 2 guards at the cave mouth. We lose the element of surprise by trying to draw them out. They will be more alert especially if the scouts do not return." Ny looks to pops. "Is this our only way into the cave?"

Frustrated by the thickness of the underbrush, Pops creeps along the western edge of the thicket, getting as close as he can dare to the cave mouth without putting himself in clear view of anyone inside. (How far can he see inside? Any guards in view? Are there obvious traps or defenses apparent? Evidence of arrow slits? Observation posts? Sounds emanating from the cave mouth?) (OCC: need a reroll?)
"It seems that a direct course of action may be best. If we can't sneak around then do you all want me to lead a charge as this thicket seems too suspect to ignore?" Sven sighs heavily after suggesting this option knowing it may get him hurt. "If Pops gets into position to move quickly when I head in then we can possibly catch anything out front by surprise."
"I guess we are doing this. If Pops and Sven are willing to take the lead I will do by best to support their efforts." Petros stands and begins to prepare for what he assumes will be a difficult fight. Petros picks up Sledge Hammer, his lute and studies the tension of the strings, runs his fingers over the wooden shell, "I am ready when you all are". Petros swallows hard. While no stranger to conflict, he has never felt comfortable in the moments before battle. He would sooner face the cold stares of an unwilling audience during a less than exemplary performance. Quietly singing to no one in particular "...I've been feeding the rhythm, I've been feeding the rhythm, going to feel that power build in you..."
Brats readies his bow and prepares to fight. "The longer we wait here, the more likely the chance that they figure out were here. I say we just charge in and hope for the best!" Brats chuckles, hiding the fear running through his head.
"When we get inside and into the heat of it i will do my best to keep everyone going." Ny sits and whispers to her self. Praying for guidance in her upcoming duties.

"It appears we have a consensus then, Pops give me the signal when you're in position." Sven closes his eyes for a moment and focuses himself for the upcoming confrontation. "When you are all ready I will move quickly, try to keep up. Brats, if they reveal themselves make sure your shots count, there may be too many of them for me to face otherwise." When Pops gives him the signal Sven will dash out as quickly as he can, trying to move in a slightly erratic movement as to not be too easy of a target heading for the thicket by the cave mouth.

With your perception, you notice on the east side of the stream flowing from the cave mouth, a small area in the briar thickets has been hollowed out to form a lookout post or blind. Wooden planks flatten out the briars and provide room for guards to lie hidden and watch the area—including a pair of goblins lurking there right now! They are not paying attention to you.
You do not have dark vision so you can not see very far into the dark cave. The only sound is that of the stream.
Pops give the hand signal to the group that two enemies are to the east. Everyone can make their way to the side of the river with the thicket near Pops. Must succeed on a DC 10 stealth check.
Pops has moved forward. All the others are in the area of the blue dot for now.
Those that want to look into the cave must make it over to Pops. I'll resolve that after stealth checks, and the possible consiquences of that.
