"'Sjus' apologizin' fer teh smell is all." The wolfpelted druid winks at his fellow party members as the shaggy fur of his cloak seems to meld with his weathered skin. His torso shortens, his face elongates and begins to grow muzzled and haired. His oaken staff, along with the rest of his gear, fade into his body as Thorok is replaced with a grey and mangy looking dog. With a brief nuzzle to a few of the party members the dog that is Thorok stalks forward, sniffing about while pretending to be rummaging around for scraps. Hoping it a good enough ruse, he creeps forward for reconnaissance.

Aedra bows her head slightly.Oops, I misunderstood.Sorry Thorok, she says as she scratches behind his furry ears.Aedra decides to be stealthy14and attempts to stick to the shadows as she approaches the estate, trying to see what she can discover.
Varris breaks his hours long silence and mumbles to himself, Why do they always choose to attack? I try to avoid the killing, but they just insist on making attempt after attempt on our lives.. Mishkal...lend me your strength, I fear this world is being dipped into a darkness not seen since your great crusade. Ancient evil stirs...Mikkael has already paid a price, one much too high...
As Varris watches Aedra and Thorok advance shrouded in deception and darkness, he responds to Darna, why don't we let our friends make a cursory look around the estate and decide from there? Knowledge shall be our friend here. An ambush would be almost too fitting. My nerve tells me that this emptiness is a farce.
Applying Guidance he peers around (Perception): 13
Thorok ranges forward as Aedra loops around in the shadows. Neither of you can see any activity in the estate, but Thorok, you smell blood, and death, and the hint of something that could be fear coming from the main house. Aedra, you see a few open doors, as if people left in a hurry. One is hanging off it’s hinges.
Aedra uses message to tell Varris about what she sees for the rest of the group. There’s a door on it’s hinges and a few others left open.I dunno if I like the look of this. Some people must’ve left in a hurry.
The dog that is Thorok nuzzles Aedra and whines softly in a fearful tone. He paces carefully forward, keen to not get to close but confident that he doesn't hear anything in the immediate vicinity. Circling around to angle himself by the open doors, he peers in to see what details he can of the interior without going inside. His nose is twitching.

Ackam walks up to Darna as the dog Thorok and Aedra scout out the estate. He looks at the estate and it reminds him of his childhood days when he attended a proper boys school that was housed in such a place. A chill rolls up his neck as he watches the dog Thorok and Aedra come back to report their scouting mission. He can tell by the furrowed eyes of the dog and the tail between his legs that something is not right with the estate. He turns to Darnaand says, "Lady Darna, I feel dat someting really really bad has happened over in dat estate. Fer yer safety maybe you should head back to town to warn da others. Unless revenger fer yer brother is more important, which I understand."
Varris ponders what to make of the message Aedra has sent him as he grasps the Talisman of Mishkal around his neck.
Ackam, your words ring true. Aedrasent me a message that there's a door off its hinges and signs that people fled in a hurry. Looking at Darna, Varris continues, while there is definitely darkness afoot that will most certainly led to danger, with your host having been unfortunately killed on the way here, I don't know if heading back to town alone would be the best decision. At this point, I think sticking together might be our best option....
I thank you for your concern, Ackam, and you too, Varris. I’ll accompany you to the estate, I may be able to glean something from some clue related to the nobility that might escape you all. Her face grows somber. We’ve already sacrificed too much to waste any asset or advantage we might have.
Thorok takes a final look through the doorways of the estate at the interior before padding his way back to the party, his slobbery tongue hanging low beneath his shaggy jowls. He rears up on his hind legs as he approaches, his face shortening and his fur seeming to coalesce and separate from his body into his familiar wolf-pelt cloak. He shakes his now dwarven head vigorously and spits a few hairs out of his mouth. "BLEFHFGF...FEH! Darna nods in agreeaance with Thorok and the group heads towards the house. As you enter the estate, the sense of foreboding grows stronger, a stale breeze blows across the grounds causing the broken door to creak on it's hinges. The main house is of a style that was old when it was built 200 years ago the columns and molding hearken back to an earlier age. As you enter through the broken front door you see that it had been burst outward from inside. The entrance way opens up into a main hall with a grand staircase at the rear. On one side a piano sits among elegant furniture, the other appears to be an area for dancing and the like. The entrance way itself is thirty feet across with a door on either side, the open area of the main hall stretches one hundred feet across, with a large doorway to the east and a huge double door to the west. What has not been recently upturned is immaculate. What would you like to do?
Varrisstrokes his now forked beard as he processes the scene, This is quite the home, or at least was....I haven't seen anything like this in quite some time. The audacity of it all is breathtaking..... Doors burst out from the inside though. that's quite unexpected - maybe a summoning gone wrong? We should exercise caution. Shall we explore further? Just to be careful of an ambush I think it would be prudent to check these rooms and advance further.

Thorok harrumphs contemptuously as the party enters the estate. "Garish feckin' wreck..." he looks around the upturned room, hoping to glean any clues as to what might have happened here. "Summat gone wrong in any case..."

Thorok ranges forward in his dog form. As he approaches he begins to see that the estate seems largely abandoned.
