"...Debts must always be paid, sometimes in more than blood and gold. But this is Ordo Ursa," Ren places his hand on Erakas's chest, right where the Dragonborn's heart is. "Right here. And it always has been and always will be. Don't ever forget that. Because I won't."
Serandis Mendaen (Aereni Elven Rogue/maybe one day Wizard)- Project Point Playtest
Kora is a Kalashtar. That's important to know, because she looks a little different, with white hair and fair (but not white) skin, her features a little too symmetrical to pass for human. She's not pretty, exactly, but she's pretty unique looking. She stands 5'6", shorter than most in the garrison. She wears chain mail, and carries a brace of weapons: longsword, short sword, daggers, and hand axes. Most of the time when she goes into battle, she paints her face with purple symbols, almost always with an eye on her forehead.
OOC > I seem to have inadvertently created a look-alike of Ciri from Witcher 3, a game I've never seen or played. But she's not as tall and lanky, and more heavily armed and armored.
She's the grunt of the unit, from a soldiering family, tough, strong, and never far from a blade. She sleeps in her armor when she has to, doesn't complain about bad food and long days, is always ready to pitch in and do the work. She'll be raucous with the others, drinks hard and eats hearty, but she's always looking for one more chance to improve. Another sparring session, another look at the map, another review of a text on strategy. That said, you'd think she'd be a brown-noser, genuflecting to the chain of command, but she doesn't. She's driven, yes, to serve, to fight for Aundair, to fight next to her unit, but there's something else driving her, and you're not sure what.
You don't know much about her people, her family lives up north, have been Aundairian for generations, and all her siblings serve in the army, too. But she's not shy about what she is. You all know she's bonded to a dream spirit named Shali, who she talks to on occasion, and describes as a warrior on the dream plane. When her blood is up, her eyes glow white. You like her, she's a tough friend, but fair.
OOC > Here are some other images I used for inspiration:
Right now, she's sitting by the fire, her longsword out, and she's wiping it down with a little oil. "Some day a clanker's going to come up to you and ask for that back, Kashkaval. I wish to be there when it happens." As you would expect, she's not complained much about the boring patrol, though she's made sympathetic sounds when others have.
"I've lost enough games of dagger toss to you, Sylrie. But I'll dice with you," she offers.
Sylrie smiled at Kora, "A game of chance over a game of skill, oh what I wouldn't give for a game of Dragonchess right now." Sylrie made his way over and sa down next to Kora, "As long as we put a bit of money on it?" he smiled again, this time a bit more mischievously though. He re-situated the ornate longbow strapped to his back so that it sat more comfortable without jabbing into the log they were crouched on.
Johnathon is a scraggy looking man, with a mark, almost like a tattoo, on his shoulder. He wields a club, which is almost always, even now, enchanted with Shillelagh. He smiles at the smell of the cooking. The mark on his shoulder glows as a fly approaches, and, with almost super speed, he swats it. it stops glowing, and his smile fades. On his other shoulder lies a bite wound, from an undead creature. His long hair sits on top, as if trying to cover it up with how blonde it is. The man's shield bears a mark, the same one on his shoulder, and is looking strangely durable.
Johnathon isn't comfortable packing up. He scoffs at your willingness to play games as he casts Detect Poison and Disease as a ritual, taking time. Afterwards, he dons his shield once more. He then looks weirded out by the minotaur talking to Buttons. Ill never get used to you talking to that, thing. it is just weird. and I have seen some weird things in my life.
Sylrie cast a bit of a side eyed glance at Kashkaval, "Now now, go back to playing with your Clanker Doll head Kashie..." Sylrie smiled a half smile, "...Guy beats you one time and he owns you at the sport"
Isuzu (-a word in the Celestial tongue means 'fifty bells'-) sits off by herself away from the rest... silently watching and listening. An odd one, she refuses to answer to any other name, not even the name that was given to her at birth... Messalina d'Orien. If the rumors are true she is the daughter of Baron Kwanti d'Orien born in the nation of Aundair at Journey's Home, a large House Orien enclave. Isuzu never speaks of her birth, her father, or her family and certainly does not dress or behave in the manner of one from such a great and prestigious house. Her family name was only uncovered by those with access to recruitment and induction documentation or through back channels, or idle gossip. The only things that seem to connect her to that House Orien is a pair of lightning rail goggles she wears on top her head and the Mark of Passage located on the inside of her right forearm which she seems to keep covered-up and hidden under her gloves which she very rarely removes.
Isuzu's appearance is rather strange, her skin ghoulish and corpse-like... a pale ash-gray, her eyes dark amber, her hair raven-black. A copperish-birthmark in the shape of a fang located on her forehead signifying that she is a Reaper sometimes called the Ashen, a chosen of the Keeper, the Sovereign of Death and Decay. One who has trained deep in the bowels of the Black Chapel itself in its very black heart, a chamber known only as the Unseen Sanctuary. Her attire is simple and common, consisting of a soft-leather shirt, tunic, trousers, leather boots, no armor and just a few weapons, a pair of matched twin-scimitars, a net, and some darts. She stays close to her unit and is loyal but keeps to herself most of the time performing her duties without a word of complaint... she does what she is told when she told.
Kora has designated herself the horse line tender, since she likes horses (and has actual Animal Handling) though she recognizes Johnathon's inherent skills with animals, but Johnathon's easily the most skilled cook (Survival ftw!), so he's busy. :) Everyone is in charge of their own horse, of course, but she will have made the rounds after we stopped, to check tethers and feet and whatnot.
"Leave off with the puppetry, Kashkaval, it is disturbing enough when it just hangs by your side. Come, Sylrie, we'll use my dice. No, not because I don't trust you, just because I know better!" she laughs, sheathing her longsword and stowing her supplies, pulling out a set of dice.
She'll pull out a handful of crowns (cp) for betting with. You know from history that she's not one to bet big, she sends most of her earnings home to her family.

If the sour soup were sour, it was made that way by you. And bud... John stares at you with the fury of a Magic Lion. His mark glows. Don't try that again. I don't like people messing with my head. I've had enough of that for 3 lifetimes.
"Then it's side bets again," she sighs, and arranges the coins so that Percival's larger bet doesn't overshadow her own. She's put three crowns in. Percival is in for two sovereigns (sp). She looks expectantly at Sylrie, while shaking the dice in her hand.

Isuzu upon seeing the others in her unit starting to gather closer together she gets up and makes her way towards them, picking a spot to stand just behind the Kalashtar ... motionless, without saying a word, her face solemn and passive as she stares down at the growing pile of crowns... watching.
She looks up at Percival's comment about it not being a contest, and just shakes her head with a smile. "Not my concern how much money you give Sylrie, Percival, just making sure my winnings don't get confused with your losses."

Sylrie laughed, "That's exactly what it is Perci...", he thumbed through his coin purse, pulled out a couple Silver, then threw them into the pot. He then smiled, "...Any other takers?" his eyes glanced up to Johnathan and then to the mysterious Isuzu, then over to Kashie.
Isuzu turns her watchful gaze to Percival and gives him a slight bow of respect as she responds in a low hollow tone to his invitation, "thank you... but I must decline your kind offer, I am content to merely observe."
