Tayla Varan, Water Genasi Monk:A licentious daughter of a licentious union, out to live and love in a war-torn world. Campaign:The Eagle's Eye Elsie Conway, Human Roguelike: A normal university student in a modern world, in the wrong place at the wrong time. Campaign:The Advent of Shadows
July 1 is the character submission deadline. July 3 I notify people that they've been picked via PM and work out any issues I've noticed with your characters (this is when I'll do the character audits); if there are no overfull threads then you can assume you got in; I'm only cutting players if there are more submissions than slots for a thread. July 5 I'll make the campaign threads and let you all introduce yourselves to each other IC and work out basic party dynamics without having any action going on. July 10 is when the action officially starts. All of these times are noted in the OP. For July 5-10 I'll be available to answer questions about the world in general and handle any other things that you may need to have done.
Why the delay? A couple of reasons (in no particular order):
I want to not have IC stuff until after the July 4 holiday to ensure that people are actually around to post. I view the ability to get to know each other to be very important, and having someone miss the very beginning does not bode well for their continued participation in my experience.
I need time to audit characters, as it's a very tedious and time-consuming process. Additionally, I like trying to work character backgrounds into the campaign world so that you have some additional personal motivations for doing things in addition to merely helping out the party's goals. I plan on having the audits complete before the beginning of the action (July 10).
I still need to figure out specific details for how everything is going to start out. I have some vague ideas in mind, but vague ideas do not generally make memorable experiences.
With work being massively busy recently compared to a week or two prior, I have less time to do all of the above as I'm now kept busy doing actual work at work (unlike before where I usually had around 3-4 hours a week with literally nothing to do)
Character-wise I'd like it if I got another submission for thread 2, but otherwise every thread has hit the minimum player count needed for me to run it. As a recap, I have 5/6 people in thread 1, 3/6 in thread 2, and 4/6 in thread 3. For those watching this but haven't applied yet, please do so :)
If anyone still wants to join, all threads are still open! You have 2 days. I'll likely begin character audits during the weekend so that I can have them mostly done by the 3rd.
Recruitment is now closed. As none of the threads were filled, everyone gets in! I will be following up with you in private message as I go over your characters.
I would like to watch and learn a little more watching you guys. I always played locally with my friends and it's been a really long time without playing a single session since today.

Raphael, male 33 years Old. Works as a police officer in Chicago Police Departament. He is into occultism and "hidden arts" as he call them.
Raphael started to deal with it since he started to have strange dreams about horrible beings whispering things in his head, the therapist said he was listening voices because the stress and violence he witnessed in his duty. The "monsters" were the people he couldn't help somehow or the bad guys he had to shoot. After some days off for vacations in a cabin in the woods, he returned different from usual. The well humored guy were now serious and less talkative, with his eyes looking to nowhere and passing most of his time researching things and people in the system.
He is an average man, with his 6'0 inches tall and abou 150pounds, honey blonde short hair and brown eyes. He is left handed and expertise with most of fireguns due to his job as a police officer. He has some survival techniques.

Flaws: Naive know it all, leaves self vulnerable with encounters that bring flashbacks from his horrors of war.
Backstory: Pinned down by enemy fire, I laid my life on the line to save those beside me. As the enemy laid down suppressing fire, one of them managed to throw a grenade which came to rest by my foot. With milliseconds to spare, I flipped on my stomach, removed my kevlar and covered the grenade with my body. The grenade was a dud, never went off, my life still flashed before my eyes. Distraught and disorientated I got up, my body was exposed and I was shot in the back. I could hear someone screaming for a medic as I faded in and out of consciousness, the bullet missed my spine by mere inches. There wasn't much the medic could do, I started to bleed out, right there by the dud grenade. I heard aircraft circling above, the sounds of the A-10's GAU 8 rained love from the sky, taking out enemy fire. Emergency evac was called in and soon I woke up on a helicopter, the light faded. Waking up in a hospital bed, alone, unable to remember how I got there, my doctor came in and broke the news to me. The bullet in my back had fragmented, he couldn't remove all of it. My military career was over, my life wouldn't be the same. I now begin my new journey with the Chicago PD.

I was working on him, feel free to use as a NPC or If someone want him, you can use and alter wharever you want
(Feel free to do whatever you need to do, and we'll fast-forward to the concert tonight if everyone's good. I'm assuming Rhodri will be one of the performers and the others will be in attendance. Up to you if you want to figure out a way for Brady to meet up with the others or not before that point, it doesn't matter either way plot-wise at this time.)
It seems like there's not much to gain from the House of Mirrors, so heading over there and exploring doesn't seem like it would uncover anything, right? This is TECHNICALLY a metagaming question, but it's for the better I swear! :P I'd rather not slow down the game to go over there and ask around to find out there's little to nothing.
I'm good to progress on to the concert if the above is true since we're already here and ready for it. The other two can work on the information and bring it up to the party later when it becomes relevant.
Sweet, awesome! I'll look over it regardless though. A Strong Martial Artist is rather tempting. I'm assuming there's no multiclassing in the future right? Since there isn't a Multiclassing Proficiencies Table or a Multiclassing Prerequisite Table?
At level 3, you choose an Advanced Class. Treat the Advanced Class like a cleric domain or fighter archetype or other class specialization -- it isn't something you multiclass into but rather just adds additional things to your regular level up. I could try to work out multiclassing rules if they don't exist and someone is interested in them, but I'm not going to put in design work that I don't need to do.
I could work out multiclassing rules pretty easily, if you like.

"Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both" -- allegedly Benjamin Franklin
Everything is proficient with simple weapons, personal firearms, and no other weapons, so I'll ignore weapon proficiencies. Everything is also proficient with light armor.
Each basic class grants one fixed saving throw proficiency. That is the ability score you must have at least 13 in to multiclass in or out of that class.
Smart and fast heroes select 3 skills at start, so multiclassing into either class grants proficiency in one skill from that class' skill list.
Tough, strong and dedicated heroes are proficient with medium armor, so multiclassing into any of those classes grants proficiency with medium armor.
Now for the tricky bit: Advanced Classes. Non-class-specific subclasses. The simplest thing I can come up with is to tie each Advanced Class to the Basic Class you got it from. Example: You are a strong hero 3/tough hero 7. When you hit 3rd level as a strong hero, you chose the Soldier Advanced Class. When you hit 3rd level as a tough hero, you chose the Bodyguard Advanced Class. So, you have the 3rd-level Soldier feature and the 3rd- and 7th-level Bodyguard features. When you reach 7th level as a strong hero, you gain the 7th-level feature from the Advanced Class you have tied to that Basic Class (Soldier). If you decided to multiclass again and take 3 levels as a fast hero, you would select a third Advanced Class to be associated with your third class, and gain the 3rd-level feature from that Advanced Class.
Everything else uses the base multiclassing rules.
Noted, thank you! I'll add 2 onto my wealth in the character sheet so there isn't any confusion (new total is 5 after initial equipment). Background to be posted momentarily.
