A’ro just looks at the bird as it watches them ‘Something is really off with this bird’ was all he could think as he surveyed the area that they found themselves in “So are we suppose to go deeper here or back to the stone pillars?” he asks the bird.

'Having snapped the centipede in half and swallowed the insect down, Worms is in the process of using the end of its dagger-sharp beak to root out its namesakes from the surrounding soil when A'ro approaches to stand below the overhang, looking up at the raven fifteen feet above to ask his question. The black bird merely cocks its head to the side, giving the master of sail that almost familiar by now yellow-eyed stare, letting rip with another silence shattering *CAWWW* before going back to its brunch. Standing beside Virt at the very entrance to the cave, A'ro feels a breath-misting cold emnating from within the dark opening before him.'

A’ro just sighs “I guess we have – so who wants to go first, this would've been a good time to bring the Master of Arms?” he asked looking at his companions.
'Kay shakes her head at Kestrell,'"Why d'ya look at me when you say fear of spiders? I'll have you know I was quite the pest killer back in my home town o'Fireshear. Could've made a decent living if I'd stuck with it I 'spose." 'She casts an idle glance down at her belt pouch, then shrugs,' "But not all vermin deserve killin', elsewise some guard would've had m'head long ago. Don't you ladies worry yourselves, I'll scout it out." 'She goes to pull up her hood, but remembers that her dark clothes with the cowl smell of zombie guts and are hanging from the back of her pack. She takes a moment to cast the soiled clothes aside in case whatever beasts lay within have a keen sense of smell, then sneaks in.

"Ah... my mistake," 'She chuckles slightly as she fades into the darkness.'
'As the intrepid Kay steps into the mouth of the cave, the frigid air almost causes her to clear her throat aloud, but the young though relatively experienced sneak manages to resist the urge. Noticing strands of thick webbing along the cave's ceiling, Kay resolutely moves forward.
Having moved barely fifteen feet into the narrowing cave, Kay notices that a single roughly ten foot wide tunnel seems to twist away from the back of cave to the left, though that is all she can see clearly, as the light from Kestrell's lantern is dim beyond where she now stands, the glow barely penetrating further into the waiting darkness.'
[OOC] Shadows hang heavy in these caves, to the extent that the effectiveness of all light-sources is halved, e.g. a hooded lantern shines bright light to 15' and dim light out to another 15' beyond that.

'Kay turns briefly to hold her finger to her lips then proceeds ten feet to the east (on the map) and takes a careful look at the gossamer strands of the spiderwebs shimmering in the lantern light.'
The fog of it all clears and Virt looks around... where the hell was he? The last thing he remembered was talking to everyone on the docks, and now here he was in beginning of a dark and dank cave. He can see into the darkness somehow, reaching up he feels some type of goggles on his face.
“What’s going on? Where are we...?” He mumbles out, his mouth dry and his near silent voice cracking. “Ah...”

'The faint fingers of light from Kestrell's lantern, still back in the tunnel, barely touch the mass of web. Steping forward within scant inches of the white and grey tangled mess, the brave sail monkey has to lean right in and even then the dim illumination is barely enough to reveal what look to be dozens of coin sized spiders crawling about within the webbing... all scurrying about some larger form that lies wrapped within living cocoon like a shrouded corpse...'

DC 15:
'Steeling her nerve despite the oppresive cold and dark of these caverns, the resolute Kay manages to note a few further details about the form within the webs - a large furred unarmoured torso, something possibly shield-shaped attached to a long muscled arm and the block-like head of a long-handled weapon that is suspened within the web along with the body of its wielder.'
DC 20:
'Kay is still studying the form, fasinated by its suspended upright pose, back arched as though in pain with one arm reaching upwards and the other grabbing towards its own neck... when the form, no, the creature, twitches with enough force to send a shiver throughout the mass of webbing. Dozens of the tiny spiders scurry about the still twitching figure in agitation at the unwelcome movement.'
