Milo chuckles a little “You’re telling me you ruffles someone’s feathers? I’m shocked!” Letting out a sarcastic sigh and laugh. “Let’s go meet the man.”
The carriage stopped outside of an impressive Estate, though to a discerning eye, the architectural style of the building was more contemporary than that of some of the neighbouring houses, and it’s façade seemed ever so slightly newer. Whoever lived here was wealthy and powerful to be sure, and they weren’t afraid to show that their status had come about recently, within the last generation or so. Tarian had seen the building before, but it’s immensity still gave her the creeps.
Leaving the carriage, she tipped the driver, and Milo and her stepped up towards the door, using the large knocker to make her presence known. After a short while, the door opened a few inches, and the face of an elderly black human butler appeared. Tarian remembererd Arc calling him Lucius, so she did the same. Before he could say anything, she said: “Lucius, please tell Master Cannith that a representative of Mr Sparks and one of his investigators would like to talk to him.”
The butler, recognising Tarian, responded: “Ah, I’m sorry, but the young Master is busy at the moment. Would you like to leave him a message?”

Arc was pained for a few reasons, the first and most conscious, being that this meant his Uncle's health was deteriorating faster than they feared. But the second, more subtle reason, was that he had mistaken Arc for his father. A comparison, while harmless, annoyed Arc enough for he himself to take not in his mind. He wasn't his father. He never would be.
Taking a moment to breath and clear his emotions, he spoke with his usual polite demeanor, "Uncle, I have spoken with the awoken warforged you asked me to meet with. It appears that her trainer was a worker of yours who, rather the utilizing the common training program, focused on treating her with compassion. While unsure if this was the direct cause for her change, it certainly adds to you past theory of extreme emotion stimuli."
Arc glances about the room again. He opens his mouth to speak again, this time, a little gentler, more worried, "Are you sure you don't wish to meet with her? I'm sure that she'd love to meet you. And the outdoors would do you good."
Thia would make her way from Uptown to the Forge once again by foot. She wouldn't run this time, rather just walk with focus through the streets. She was making her way back to the Golden Gear to check on Corti, surely she's fine, but she wanted to check all the same.
After some time, Thia would finally spot the sign of the Golden Gear and enter the establishment once again. She'd nod hello to the barkeep before taking a look around the room.
Tiberius looked at Arc, insecurity and the painful realisation of his own confused state in his eyes: “The warforged, yes... Maybe you’re right. It’s been a while since I’ve actually seen them... We need to fix the mistakes, they need to be fixed... Terrible if they were to malfunction upon arrival...” Taking a few moments to collect himself, Tiberius looks back up at Arc, seemingly sharper than before, with the steely look returned to his eyes. “Take me to this unit, I think it’s time we met.”

She doesn’t look up when she hears the door open, but when she hears Thia’s voice greet the barkeep she jumps up, slinging her lute onto her back and running over. “Thia! It’s good to see you! I am so sorry about yesterday, I must have been more tired than I thought.”

"Hi Corti!" she'd chuckle in relief, but would instinctively reach up and check Corti's forehead as it to check for a fever. Not that she was expecting anything. "No worries. It happens to the best of us some days." She'd wink, plenty guilty of it herself. "I'm glad you're alright. Were you about to play?" she'd ask curiously.
Tarian looked down at Milo for help just as he began to light his pipe. You’re on your own on this one, Tarian. Tarian drew a slow breath to collect her thoughts. Looking for criminals is so much easier. If this was some flophouse in the Docklands, I could just force my way in. There’s no way I’d get away with that here in Northward. Time to… use my words, I guess.
“Mister Lucius, sir, I don’t believe we’ve been formally introduced. I’m Tarian, Docklands freelancer.” What did Lucius call him, again? That’s right… “Young Master Cannith requested that I return to him for some work he needed done. He didn’t give a time for me to return, just ‘at my earliest convenience.’ And, well, here we are.” She shrugged. “Now, I’m a pretty patient woman—stakeouts require patience—so I don’t mind waiting. The weather’s not terrible, so I can wait outside if I must, but I ask a bit more courtesy be offered to this gentleman here.” She gestured politely toward Milo.
“May I introduce Mister Milo Spudsder, associate of one Mister Sparks, who also has a request of the Canniths. Now, I’m not privy to all the information above my pay grade—I’m sure you can relate—so I’ll let Mister Spudsder relay his own message.” Tarian looked down to Milo. “Mister Spudsder?”

A one Mr. Brandt, would happen to know where he is staying?” Milo says as he paces back and forth on the front porch, looking out into the road most of the time.
"Sorry sir, I am not aware of all of Master Cannith's associates. If there's nothing else?..." The butler was polite, but firm on not letting them enter the estate, or disturb his Master. He made moves to shut the door in the face of the two people whom he had only now been formerly introduced to.

Corti is a bit surprised at Thia checking her temperature, but doesn’t flinch away. “Yes,” she says in response to Thia’s question, “I play during the day if I’m around, nothing as flashy as my night shows, but enough to give the few guests we have in the daytime something to listen to.” She pauses as she pulls her lute around to cradle it in front of her, “Is there anything you’d like to hear?”

"Hmmm..." Thia would take a moment to think, but truly she was just excited she'd get to hear Corti play. "Do you have anything new you'd like to try out? Or maybe yet...What about 'an old favourite'? Something soulful, or that reminds you of a time with your mentor? Hopefully something that'll spark joy." She'd smile encouragingly.
Corti grins at Thia’s request, “I know just the one. This was her favorite.” She sits on a nearby table, strums a chord or two to check her tuning, and begins to play.
The song was one of the first she learned, so she knew it well. It was an old folk tune, and it began sounding sweet and lighthearted, but soon the chords morphed to sound more melancholic. Corti’s voice soon joined her lute, singing the story of a girl who climbed a mountain in search of a magical tree and a pitcher of water that she needed to save her brothers. As she finishes the tune she stares at her instrument, remembering the first time she had played this. After a moment she looks up at Thia and smiles shyly.

Thia would take a seat to enjoy Corti’s tune. She’d close her eyes and sway to the tune for a bit before opening her eyes again to watch Corti strum and sing. When she finishes, Thia would clap, the gold crest of the new Veiled Valour patch on her jacket sleeve catching the light as she did, “I can see why it was her favourite.” She’d smile, “I enjoyed it very much! Thank you Corti. I’m glad I finally got to hear you play, and I hope it’s not the last!”
Thia would wait to see if Corti is eager to continue playing, if so she’d relax in her seat to enjoy. If not, she’d wait for Corti to settle and get comfortable. “Corti, something’s been on my mind and I’ve been meaning to ask. With all the excitement lately, it keeps slipping my mind, so I hope you don’t mind me asking. The little redhead, Leo that was with you at the rally, how did you come to know him?”
“Oh, Leo! Well, he and his friend, Merrix ah- Carlo Merrix, turned up here just the other night. It was a tough crowd and they were really the only ones interacting, so I went over and said hello.
