Alten is going to look around back towards the edge of the market where we came in. Is there a homeless guy who looks like he’s been there for a while by chance? If not, Alten will head for whatever shop/stand is in the best position to watch people coming into or leaving the bazaar.

There are a number of beggars situation in various corners of the market. There's one near the entrance with a view of the market and the tunnel you entered by. Grimy looking male human with an overly large coat on. No shoes and a pan out in front with some loose change in it.
I kneel down beside him and keep my voice relatively low. How much loose change is in the pan? I would assume it's probably just a few coppers in a place like this?
Good day. Maybe you can help me? I'm trying to locate someone on behalf of a friend that we need to talk to. Did you notice a man {insert appropriate description that Alten can give} come through here recently?
I drop a couple of silver into his plate
There is additional reward if we locate him.

Talien and Shake make to the potion shop. An elderly looking crone of a human woman reads from a book behind a makeshift counter. She wears what appears once a green dress fit for a ball. Now it has faded and lost its frills. A black cat with strange wavy grey - almost purple stripes sits atop the counter next to her lapping from a bowl of milk. She eyes you as you read the various labels...
The names continue like this across multiple shelves and you read them until the crone asks in a gravely voice, "Lookin' fer anythin' in par'ticular?" while looking you over with a milky eye.

There is but a few meager coppers in the pan. The man looks upon you in surprise as you drop in the silvers.
He opens his mouth and the smell of rotten teeth and stale beer washes over you, "Seen someone matchin' tha scription' come through bout' few minutes ago. Followed by rats he was. But, can't really say where he went... my stomachs a bit empty ya see.. and it makes me not remember so well when alls I can think bout' is the grumblin".
As far as food goes, this is all I have on me. Maybe a snack will settle your stomach a bit.
I pull out two more silver
With four silver, you should be able to find a substantial meal or two after your snack. It's yours if you help me out.
The man tears into the ration. In between bites he says, "Never saw this feller before. Know most folk who come through here. Be surprised if I told ye. Anyways.. he headed straight down that way *(pointing deeper into the market)*. If he kept goin then he'd leave the market and be back in the under-city pathways. All sorts of people get lost in there.. usually up to no good... Hey! Fer some more silvers I can tell ya which counsel members wives buy their beauty stuffs here. Bet that's werth at least 2 more silvers! Eh? Hows about it?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Grom will use Prestidigitation to clean himself off
then he will have his spell book cast Detect Magic, and then he will take the book and pocket it as to protect it down here... he will then start to make his way thru the market looking for anything that catches his eye...

Both the potion shop and shop with all the random stuff light up like a Christmas tree... you'll have to pick one and we can go into more detail.

seeing talien at the potion shop he will go towards the random stuff
Talien walks toward the potion shop and begins looking around in the shop. Are there any labels on the potions assuming I make it there?

I’m not sure why I would need to know council members’ grooming habits, but I’ll keep it in mind.
What’s your name, friend? I’m Alten by the way.

Do you happen to know anyone reliable who knows the under-city pathways, by chance?

"Suit yerself."
"Name's Clay. Clay Dickenson. And sure. I know the pathways pretty well. Been livin' down here awhiles.."
Nice to meet you Clay. If we don't find the guy in the market and assuming we decide to try the pathways, you interested in a guide job?
I’ve put the other 2sp in the cup.
