Edit: party check means everybody rolls? Need more successes than failures?
Sorry meant 1 person needs to roll and it will count for the whole party.
The group is surprisingly stealthy as you move about 300 yards deeper into the sewer. The air becomes stale and heavier the deeper you move in. There does not appear to be any storm drains in this section and therefor no light aside what's coming from Grom's spell...
You feel your foot kick a rat more than once, but they don't make a noise just scurry away from you in their own defense.
After what feels like 15 minutes you come to a crossroads. You can either go left or right. A quick investigation of the area reveals another sign of the Iron Hand in thieves cant scribbled near the top of the wall. It points you right. Assuming you go right..
You continue on for another 10 minutes towards the end of which you begin to hear a rushing sound that grows louder and louder. It sounds almost like water.
When you reach the end of the tunnel it opens up into this space:
You come out of the back left tunnel. The first tunnel you check appears to go back the way you came albeit it is separate so might turn somewhere, but you're not sure as it goes straight for the first 100 or so feet. As you walk down the stairs and head to the other side you hear a myriad of voices from down the major tunnel and see the dull glow of some sort of light.
You creep carefully across and find both tunnels atop the staircase on the other side go straight back for the first 100 feet or so just like the two on the other side. It is very hard to tell them all apart aside from them beginning in different locations.
You're calling the "major tunnel" with the voices the one on the lower level in the middle, correct?
Do we want to send sneakies down the main tunnel to scout it out and see if they can tell how many make a "myriad"? I'm willing to use a Bless spell on a couple with the best stealth (assuming Rees and Arxiux) to work together and scout things out. A good outcomes would be figuring out what's down there, how many, etc. Another good outcome might be Rees and Arxius luring someone out for interrogation without alerting the whole force?
The rest of us could take positions on the upper ledges against the wall and ready nonleathal attacks for the lured person? If our party members get noticed, they high tail it back. If a big number give chase, at least we have an ambush position

Talien pulls out his javelins, one for each hand and makes sure he has easy access to the rest of them, hooking his shield to his side and sheathing his sword.

Shake looks to the group and whispers to them, "I'll go ahead a bit and see what's what. If I run into trouble, the signal will be me screaming for help."
With that shake moves towards the end of the tunnel where the light seems to be coming from. Before moving forward Shake looks behind him to see what the wall looks like, then uses Minor Illusion to project an image of the wall in front of him.

Shakes' stealth = 12
You take a deep breath and smile at the group bravely then move forward behind your illusion. The tunnel is unlit which puts you at a little more at ease. You believe your little trick will work because there's not that much light inside to reflect off of it or make it shimmer in any weird way except towards the end.
As you get further into the tunnel the light grows brighter at the other side. It looks like the light of torches or braziers.
The voices grow louder. You hear quite a few now and they sound to be spread out amongst different groups. You hear some shouts, some laughter, and as you near the end it is more of a din. You pause at the entrance and find it opens up into some sort of market!
It is greasy and grimy, but there seems to be stalls set up and little shacks built up to sell things. Nobody seems to notice you as they go about their business. You notice it is mostly grimy looking humans, but there are a few rougher looking dwarves mixed in and there's certainly more dwarves here than you saw up top in the surface city.
Shake goes back to the group and reports. "There appears to be some sort of bizarre bazar up ahead. Lots of grimy humans, but a few rougher looking dwarfs in the mix as well. Maybe we should dirty ourselves up before we get in there. You know, to fit in better."
Talien takes off all of his gear and rolls around on the ground, he looks for a muddy/wet patch to smear a big streak across his chest. He says to Shake Like this Shake? as he puts all of his clean equipment on. Does anyone need help? He scoops up a handful from the muddiest section and moves to help Rees and Arxius.

You do a pretty decent job of muddying yourself up with the mud and grime down here. You smell odd now as well…
Speaking for myself, I don't want more sewer shit spread on me. I think we've got enough as is.
Let's go see what we can find. Stick to the story - just looking for the guy who was eyeing our bard.
Heading down the main hallway, assuming everybody wants to go that way.
You head down the main tunnel and sure enough find an oddly placed market just like Shake said...
Welcome to the "Night Market"...
You walk deeper in and find vendors selling food and an array of "interesting" products. The food stalls sell noodle dishes with thick heavy brown steaming broths, hot buns stuffed with various meats and spices, and skewers with some unidentifiable meats. Other stands offer "rare" spices and trinkets, animals furs that you are pretty sure are from endangered species, and larger fireworks that are illegal in most cities except for special occasions. Most of these venues are stalls along the walls of the sewer which you have noticed opens up into more of a wide cavernous room which is probably some sort of cistern turned into this ramshackle market. You do notice there are some recessed "rooms" with what appears to be more established "shops" and a makeshift tavern of some sort with bar seating along the wall. Notably there looks like there is a potion shop of some sort, possibly a fortune teller, and a shop with random sharp and shiny objects that appear to be relatively valuable.
Scanning faces, specifically looking for our target, but at the same time general threat assessment. Is anyone giving us the side-eye or seeming to pay us undue attention?

Quite a few grimy looking individuals with brown and black cloaks on here. Looks like being shady is the "norm" down here...
You don't spot your target. You might need to hang out a bit and ask around...
As you say, grimey looking guy with a dark cloak probably isn't specific enough for an ID on it's own. I know you posted the picture of the guy, but did our characters get a good enough look at him to get more details than that - the greasy dark hair, really long fingernails (almost claw-like), the rat skulls on the cloak, etc?

Rees got the description and the image is what she would have seen with how close she got, so any additional details you could pick out of that image work as well. I'm sure would have relayed as much as possible to the group, so you have a pretty good description, but amongst the crowd you don't find anyone that immediately sticks out matching what she described.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Shake looks at the crowd with a gleam in his eyes. "Hey guys, maybe I could play a few songs down here and gather a little crowd for you to interrogate."
Without waiting for a response Shake steps forward. As he does he pulls some spoons out of his pack. When he's a respectable distance from his companions he starts to beat the spoons together rhythmically and sings:
A few days before he turned 80 He was sittin' out back in a rocker He said, "What you been up to lately?" I told him, "Chasing a coin" And in between sips of coffee He poured this wisdom out Said, "If you want my two silvers on making a gold count
Buy dirt Find the one you can't live without Get a ring, let your knee hit the ground Do what you love but call it work And throw a little money in the plate at church Send your prayers up and your roots down deep Add a few limbs to your family tree And watch their pencil marks And the grass in the yard all grow up"
'Cause the truth about it is It all goes by real quick You can't buy happiness But you can buy dirt
Before you get caught on that ladder Let me tell you what it's all about Find you a few things that matter That you can put a fence around And then he laid it out

Performance = 20
You're performance truly have improved since knocking the rust off after being in that cage locked in the Sunless Citadel for what seemed like forever. Despite this the denizens of this market pay you no more attention then but a glance. At least they aren't throwing anything at you or being hostile. But, they certainly aren't engaging you.
After what was a nearly flawless performance of a very heartfelt song, Shake looks at the meandering crowd with consternation and a little ire. "Are you people the walking dead?!? I give you all a performance like that and all you do is... is... NOTHING?" He slinks back to his companions fairly deflated. "Oh well, I guess they don't like music. Well there is no way I am going to sing to them about Meepo then. Some people just can't appreciate art!"
Sorry meant 1 person needs to roll and it will count for the whole party.
