In Sleepy's pocket you find moldy wine corks and 2 silver pieces. In Dot's pocket you find a metal spork, some old rat jerky, and a shiny metal button. In Snot's pocket you find an extremely dirty piece of cloth used as a handkerchief, 9 copper pieces, 5 silver pieces, and 4 gold pieces. You also find the bone dice Dot and Snot used for their game (it is also covered in Snot's mucus).
After putting the coins in the party treasure sack, I put the corks, spork, jerkey button, hankercheif, and dice into a pile
Not much, Just a few coins to split amongst the company after we get back to town. Anybody want any of this stuff? Talien? Meepo?
“I will take the dice, though I might clean them first...” Arxius says frowning as she looks at them.
To Talien: "It has to do with anatomy. It's different for males and females of most humanoid species and honestly? If you don't need to urinate then you should just consider yourself lucky and not worry about it. As for eggs versus a womb, the difference is also biological. Birds, lizards, some fish I think? And probably other things the mother lays eggs and the young grow inside that egg outside of their mother's body. For mammals like humans, elves, dogs, deer, etc. the young grow inside the mother's womb and are born from her body rather than hatched from the egg. I don't know how you were created, it sounds more like you were built? But you'd know that better than me."
After that, she'll sit with the note from the rat man and work on decoding it while the others work on spells and target practice.
"I'll keep that in mind, thanks. He's working on something at the moment, so I'll keep plugging away and see if I can make any headway. I like puzzles," Rees replied with a smile. "I have a little experience with codes and things like this."
“It is alright, Meepo, you have to train before you can do it with ease. Even I miss occasionally and I have had my bow a long time,” Arxius tells the Kobold as she crouches beside him. A frown crosses her features briefly, a stray thought crossing her mind. She sees an elder elf with an ornate longbow, crouching and holding out his hand.
She stands up quickly. “Help me move these Goblins to the wall over there and you can use them for practice.”
Meepo leans his shield against the wall and struggles to help you drag the bodies. When you have the bodies in place Meepo stops and says, "Meepo usually not allowed to play with food before eating it. Meepo usually too hungry anyway. But, Meepo want get better with crossbow! We practice then eat?"
Alten goes into the hallway and sits down. He graps his holy symbol and begins his prayers to Torm. He finishes the active prayers and begins trying a mediation, trying to feel the mystical energy within and call it forth. In past efforts he has able to feel the magic within, but he has not succedded in moving it and focuing it on the symbol. He believes that when he can move and focus the internal energy on the symbol, that is when he will be able to cast a spell.

Grom will walk over to Rees. "What do you have there?"
Rees looks up from the parchment she's been translating, writing the decoded message in common under the coded words. "It's the note that the Ratman had on him. I'm just working on the code." She'll show him the half-decoded parchment.
Some time has passed since our paladin of Torm has last spoken with his patron. As such he leaves the party for a short while to find a quiet corner at the far end of the hallway for meditation and prayer. He brushes the dirt and grime away from the corner, takes out his flask of holy water, and sprinkles a few drops on the ground. He then takes an alms box out of his pack and places it on the ground he just cleansed. He kneels, then places a candle and a small amount of incense on top of the alms box and lights them. Clutching his amulet Alten takes a deep breath and closes his eyes...
Alten... you think about the battle you had with the goblins, then the ratman, and blights the day prior. You feel proud of your accomplishments and know Marta and Brother Tomin would feel the same. Your only hope is that Torm will see it this way too...
Your thoughts turn to the party you have been leading... Talien is a good companion in battle. Grom has proven himself quite capable, despite being an inexperienced mage. Chatra has been a pain in your ass, but thus far you have been able to curb his rash behavior. Rees and Arxius are deadly with their bows. Your thoughts linger on Arxius. She is so different than anyone you have ever encountered, yet so familiar... "Enough" you tell yourself as you refocus yourself on Torm.
You take another deep breath... some time passes and the dungeon slowly begins to fade away...
Your mind clears... then turns to darkness as you reach a state of silence and peace....
Then... a vision enters your mind...
Screams... Smoke... Fire....
Your eyes begin to water and sting. Your throat feels dry. Your lips and exposed skin cracked from the heat.
More screams....
The sound of metal clashing...
A woman running with a baby cradled in her arms...
Fire....
The pounding of what sounds like a thousand war drums....
"Waaaarrrgghhhhhhhh!"
The guttural scream of orcs!
You are suddenly back in Coalfel. You look down and see not the hands of a grown man, but those of a small child.
Buildings are burning every where. Coalfel is under siege.
You try to scream, but nothing escapes your dry throat.
An orc charges at you out the side of a burning building. You try to run, but are paralyzed with fear...
The orc is barreling towards you.. almost on top of you now...
Its shadow looms over you.
It raises its sword above its head...
And a blade explodes out of its chest.
The orc falls to the ground, struck dead. Behind it stands a knight in silver armor.
The knight reaches down to you with his right gauntlet extended palm forward and says...
"You have a destiny child. And it is not to die here today."
"Take my hand. Receive my blessings. And remember your duty."
"You will be tested. Remember..."
"Stand ever alert against corruption. Strike quickly and forcefully against rot in the hearts of mortals. And bring painful, but quick death to traitors."
"You will be tested."
"You will be tested."
The vision fades.
Your mind returns to the citadel. Your eyes snap open.
You are hot and covered in a slick sweat.
But you feel stronger somehow. Stronger than you have ever felt before. And you know what you must do.
You know you must lead this party and accomplish this task set before you for. For your parents, for Marta and Tomin, and for Torm.
“It is alright, Meepo, you have to train before you can do it with ease. Even I miss occasionally and I have had my bow a long time,” Arxius tells the Kobold as she crouches beside him. "It is not playing, Meepo. We are training. It is important," Arxius tells him. She sits down - cross-legged for the first time - beside him. "Aim for the bits you do not wish to eat. I want you to steady yourself. Try and quell your excitement. Take aim at the first Goblin and fire when you are ready."
Rees looks up from the parchment she's been translating, writing the decoded message in common under the coded words. "It's the note that the Ratman had on him. I'm just working on the code." She'll show him the half-decoded parchment.
Interesting... Grom strokes his beard..
Ooc: any roll I can make to try and help rees with this?

Talien will once done moving the caltrops, will go over to Rees and sit beside her. He places his arm around her as she concentrates on a piece of paper. He will wait while she works on this before continuing the conversation from before. Once it seems like a good enough time to talk to her (Talien thinks she is done but I would say there is a 1 in 10 chance she is not done) he says to her quietly (equivalent to a whisper but there is no strain), I do not know how I was made. It is odd seeing everyone here and knowing they were once a small thing. I have always been the same size...I have just learned over the time I have been alive but have never increased in size. Is it odd to become bigger every year and know that one day you will no longer be able to do the things you used too? I met an village elder near the tundra when I came here and he could not walk. They said it was due to age but I know warforged older than him that have no movement issues, most of them are Masters or Grand Masters. Will this happen to you one day? He turns his head and stares at Rees's while she responds, glowing blue eyes locked on hers.
(Chronologically this would be prior to Grom looking at it)

To Rees - if I see her working on something
You might ask Grom for help with that. Wizards typically are quite intelligent and scholarly. He strikes me as such, even though he is a dwarf.
