"Yes, Meepo, you did very well with what you had," she confirms. "I think we're about to have company and these plants are not our friends. Do we stay or retreat back to the last room? I imagine they'll certainly come after us now. In some ways, I guess that means the plan worked..."

Yes, I'd say a mask of any sort would help. You can roll saves with advantage should the need arise. The shuffling sounds as if it is getting closer...
Talien, out of the gloom (30ft in front of you) you can make out a pair of sickly glowing green eyes... behind (maybe 5ft) that is two more pairs... and behind those three more...
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Sorry, I cannot get the map to open to save my life, can Rees seen the blights yet? If she can, she’ll fire an arrow at the nearest one, if not she’ll hold her action until she can see one. (Assuming sneak attack, but if not it’s only 1d6 damage)

Attack: 19 Damage: 16
The blights are still 30ft out.. Still 20ft in front of Talien, so he's not yet engaged (so no sneak attack, sorry). Still.. your arrow takes one of the needle blights in the head and the glowing in the eyes extinguishes.
Alten is up... two larger blights with thick vines covering their bodies shambling out front... two of the things you fought before that fire needles behind them.
I declared a readied Eldrich blast. You're call whether an enemy has "threatened" one of the party.
If the blast triggers - Attack: 22 Damage: 7
If possible, I'll move my 30' towards enemies.
I believe Alten would view the mindless plant monsters as a threat (based on previous encounters) and release the blast.
The force of impact sends bits of vine and sap flying into the air from one of the vine blights shambling forward, but its still shuffling. You move into melee combat range with it and as you do its body stiffens and its arms suddenly grow towards the ground. They appear as if they're rooting. A split second passes and grasping roots and vines shoot out of the ground in a 15-foot radius centered on the blight.
Alten, please make a DC 12 strength saving throw as the vines attempt to restrain you. Additionally, the area within the 15' radius is now considered difficult terrain for non-plant creatures.
The vines attempt to wrap your legs, but you stomp on them and kick them off. But, the second vine blight comes into it's combat range (reach 10ft) with you and attempts to constrict you with its vine like arms...
Attack: 11 Damage: 8 bludgeoning damage, and a Large or smaller target is grappled (escape DC 12).
Edit: Wow, I actually rolled well. Please make another strength saving throw... I'll say with advantage since your last one was a crit and I don't have another way to really reward it.

I'll ready an Eldritch blast. Trigger is if a hostile entity threatens a party member.

Talien begins to walk to the sound the group hears. He suddenly sprints to the sound after about 10 steps, sword drawn to attack.

Shake tears a piece of fabric and ties it around his face then knocks and arrow and prepares to shoot.
