Hawk grinds his teeth as he takes the javelin full on. Lucky he has armor on, but wasn’t enough to stop the javelin from going through a little. He pulls it out, shakes off the pain, and fires another arrow at the Ogre:
Attack: 9 Damage: 12 (Slayer’s Prey extra damage: 1)
As the fighting intensifies, Zook remains silent throughout the battle and focuses on his body movements and his mind. He concentrates on the energy flowing through his body and the extreme agility that has allowed him deflect two of the missiles that came his way. He’d practiced and repeated those maneuvers countless times during his training with The Masters, but this was the first time he’d had the courage and confidence to attempt the moves against an enemy.
Feelign emboldened by his success, or at least his partial success, Zook now shifts his mind towards a much more powerful state of being and channels the power of his ki. Taking a deep breath, he concentrates on the air that he draws from the atmosphere around him and feels the coolness enter his lungs. “I am the wind...” he whispers to himself in a small, breathy but confident voice.
He draws strength from his breath and moves to within 30 feet of the ogre that just attacked Mandaway. Securing his stance by placing his feet firmly on the ground, the little gnome thrusts his fists forward, exhales with a loud shout and sends a strong blast of air towards the brutish creature. (Fist Of Unbroken Air) The elemental energy released from his attack is powerful enough to drive all but the strongest creatures back, knock them prone and deal a punishing amount of damage. He then uses the rest of his move to back away.
Damage: 14 (Strength save DC12 is half damage and creature is not driven back or knocked prone.)
The ogres large form resists the wind a bit but is still buffeted. The goblins continue to bolt, making it out of the cave and around the corner. Mandaway and Bert are up
Mandaway fired his crossbow at the ogre Zook had just attacked then called on Eldath to steady himself again.....noting that he was using most of his energies just to keep himself upright rather than helping his companions with a little shame.
Bert fires another arrow at the ogre Zook is fighting, getting more nervous as this fight ticks on. Did the goblins leave the cave to flee further underground?
Attack: 14 Damage: 6, sneak attack: 7
He'll use his bonus action to move a bit further into the shadows deeper in the cave and hide (stealth: 9)
The goblins flee outside from the cave. One ogre goes down. The other gets angry and attacks the not hidden Bert with a great club. (don't think anyone was in melee for an AoO) Attack: 11 Damage: 15
Goblins have got far away enough to not be part of combat so you are all up
Bert only has to duck half a foot to miss the massive swing of the greatclub, which makes a sound passing through the air above his head that pops his ears.
In one fluid motion he shoulders his bow and draws his rapier and tries to stick it into the ogre with a yelp. As he does so, some arcane energy infuses the blade, and (if the attack hits) the ogre is surrounded by a swirling globe of dangerous-looking crackling energy (he cast the cantrip booming blade).
Attack: 15 Damage: 7
Bert uses his bonus action to disengage from the ogre, and uses his full movement to run as far away from the ogre as he can, not really looking where he's going. If the ogre moves at all, it takes 7 thunder damage, assuming the attack hits. He doesn't even notice the swirling globe behind him in his panic. He realizes that he did something magical when he used his rapier, but part of it was instinctual and the rest of it was forgotten due to fear.
With the first ogre down, Zook rushes back in to engage the second one, his mind and body tuned in crystal clear focus, his breathing controlled, but ready to intensify like waves about to break on rocks.
Holding his quarterstaff at his side, he charges towards the beast at full speed, feints to the left and telegraphs a swing across the ogre's belly. At the last second, Zook instead steps right, spins his body halfway around and jabs the point of his staff backwards at the ogre's lower back, aiming right for the kidney. Attack: 24 Damage: 9
Then, finishing his spin, he uses his momentum to hightail it back out of the ogre's melee range. He squares off with staff in both hands across his body, ready to defend himself if necessary.
(Spending 1 ki point, using Step of the Wind to Disengage as a Bonus Action. I don't know how far Zook had to move in order to reach the second ogre, but can we say he moves back 10 feet?)
"Well, that happened! Do we think that the villagers fled here? If so, they might not be doing well, if these goblinoids were here. Should we try to go find them? I hope each of you is okay, that was a little sudden," Bert says, wiping his rapier on the clothing of the ogre and once again trying to collect half his arrows.
He will look to see if the ogres or remaining goblins were carrying anything interesting, and then look around the cavern for any traps or interesting items left behind.
As the second ogre goes down, Zook lowers his stance and lets his body relax. He even starts to get a little bit giddy from the elation of having achieved success in battle with the biggest, most dangerous creatures he's ever fought. Happy that his bravery and concentration held fast in the face of such large and savage foes, he begins jumping up and down in place to release some of that extra stored energy, using his staff to help hold himself in the air for a brief couple seconds with each leap.
Then, letting go with one hand, Zook grabs a pinch of fleece from his belt and creates a brief illusory musical tone of a final triumphant V-I chordal resolution from an imaginary string quartet that sounds overhead.
"Advantage gnome, elf, cat and guy with curly hair! Excellent work, team, you are all very good with your bows! And Bert, those fast reflexes certainly serve you well. Whew!... a little slower and you'd have quite a big dent in your head!"
Eventually, Zook begins to calm back down.
"I suppose we should search this area and see if we find anything of value, and then see where these caves lead. I count six tunnels. How should we proceed?"
Are the ogres still staying and fighting?
Yep
After joining more my signature got out of hand so I am now a proud member of the extended signature club!! :)
Mandaway turned and fired at the more aggressive looking Ogre, then lifted a hand towards Bert with thumbs up.
Attack: 12 Damage: 9
Guidance for Bert:2
Bert targets the same ogre from hiding with his longbow.
Attack: 8 Damage: 10
He'll hide again, this time a bit further inside the cave, away from where the ogres are headed (stealth: 17)
The ogre hit by Zook and Mandaway decides to go after 1 Mandaway. He moves up and smashes with his club. Attack: 17 Damage: 10
The other one throws a javelin at Hawk. Attack: 24 Damage: 7
Both ogres look hurt but not quite on deaths door. Hawk and Zook up

There is nothing of interest in the cavern, not even in the ogres den. You loot 3GP 4sp and 21cp from the bodies.
(I am numbering the tunnels 1-6 gong clockwise from the enterence. Pick your tunnel that way)
