Ryner picks up his cup, his gaze still not even glancing at the guards, and raises a seemingly toast like motion, "Aye. I do have working ears. But no worries, I be leaving today, so you won't being hearing me talk for a long while." If the guards are satisfied with his answer, he'll make a move to go towards the wagon, spotting the barmaid out of the corner of his eye (passive perception is 13 XP). "Thank you for your hospitality."
He gives his a glance and nods his head before tugging his hood a little more over his eyes and climbing into the back of the wagon, letting his back rest up on it's left side.
Once they're underway, assuming Marius is driving based off what he said last night, Ryner will spend his time in the back of the wagon, scanning behind them for anything that might be following them or have the potential to harm them or the mission. If he finds that they are (relatively) safe, he'll pull out his lute and strum a small tune.

Salazar shrinks more and more in himself from the dressing down. Even if most of it wasn't necessarily directed at him. He keeps his head down, and says nothing to the guard until they chose to leave or allow folk to go back to business. (Passive Perception 14) After a soft sigh, he turns to go snatch a bite of breakfast when he sees Luneth scowling at Ryner. "I know, Zalidar. But this is a lot harder than I thought it'd be."He whispers over his shoulder.
Salazar brings up his bowl of breakfast up to the injured man if still around, offering it along whle looking the man over. "Its not much, but there should be 5 dragons(gold) in your pocket. Thank you again, for your assistance getting me here. But please, for both my sake and that of your family, really thinking about things before committing to such a dangerous course. We both know the roads aren't always safe. And if you're alone, what of your family then if something should happen?" He waits a few seconds to let his words sink in, then reaches out to cup the man's cheek. "What once ways be made whole again."While the words may not register, the warmth from them alone lifts the man spirit before a light pours into him from the contact(Cure Wounds: 8). Bit by bit, the swelling fast fades and dizziness fades into background noise.
"Until next we meet." Intent on not saying another word, Salazar joins the rest for any final preparations.
Salazar will trade with Marius as the need arises, citing along the way having a way with animals. Other than that, he is in the back doing his best to avoid looking at Ryner for more than a few seconds. His usual excitement is tempered by wariness. Nevertheless, he finds moments to lose himself watching the passing scenery, or keeping watch ahead and off the sides for any signs of trouble.

Marius takes the seat at the head of the cart, once the horses are properly fastened, of course, and checks on the supplies in the back, before gettign the cart moving. Various peoples mill about as the cart rumbles by, most looking for a moment in interest, before going back to their business. The man that Salazar had healed fed, and bestowed, had nodded, but chose to stay where he was, thinking, though now much more clearly. Eventually, you all make it outside the south gate. And continue down the road, peacefully. Ryber is too distracted by the playing of his own instrument to notice anything of any particular interest, but his performance is actually quite decent. While not the best you've ever heard, it does.. lift something within each of the passengers spirits. Even the horses seem a bit happier.
Going along the road, to the right, is the vast sea known as the Sword Coast. The water stretches on for miles and miles , a tiny puff of smoke, barely visible in what seems an eternity away in distance, where another fate is being decided and a prophecy fulfilled on an island nearby, not that any of you know that. To the left, great plains and grasslands, sloughed with small patches of snow that rebel against the sun sweep across, in fertile fashion, eventually leading to a massive forest known to everyone as the Neverwinter Woods. Aside from passing caravans, merchants, or guard patrols, the warm sun on your skins, mixed with the cool breeze made for nearly a perfect temperature.
The trip was almost entirely uneventful. Eventually, the cart pulls up to a three-way sign. One reading Neverwinter, and pointing in the direction in which you all just came. Another pointing forward, saying "Leilon." And one more, pointing off to the side, saying "Phandalin.'
Marius just shrugs as the issue with the guards seems to resolve itself easily enough and he eats his breakfast and heads out to the wagon. Once everyone is situated he will get up on drivers seat and set off. When he enters the drivers seat he works to place his glaive in the wagon in a way that the handle was easily accessible to him should a fight break out. As they begin to hit the snow filled road he hears the sound of Ryner's playing which sounds great in the backdrop of snow that always seemed to do funny things with sound. Perhaps it had been too long since he traveled with good music as he found it a bit harder to pay attention as he drove as his mind kept drifting to the music.
Thinking back to his knowledge of the region (Survival20) and considers the signs and chooses the correct way forward while considering the time of day in order to determine if he should start looking for a good spot for making camp.
Even Salazar cannot sulk forever. While not a chatterbox by any stretch of the imagination, its clear over time from increasingly furtive glances thrown at his two compatriots that words were itching to come out. Finally, he sighs around the three-way point, takes out a pen, paper, and finds a place to wedge the ink where it wouldn't immediately fall over short of a massive disturbance. "So, uh, seeing as i-its gonna be a bit 'fore we get Phandlin. Probably another two to three days, maybe, uhm... I-I've been curious to know where you both come from? A-as I said before, I-I-I'm from Candlekeep. That is a... ah... quite a bit south from Neverwinter. Past Amn, if you've been there. Was on the road for a month and a half, I think. Or was it two? Been a bit."He chuckles nervously before clearing his throat.
"I-I know Marius mentioned being apart of uh, Merchant company, right?"He asks of Marius. And if after receiving an answer from Marius Ryner chose to ignore the more general question, he nervously waves his hand off to the side to try and get his attention.

"I said I was from a mercenary company...well clan sort of it is a family business and we are based in Melvaunt over at the Moonsea," Marius calls back to Salazar to answer his question. His tone is friendly enough though it is clear he is trying to focus on the road for dangers.
Ryner, still mostly focused on strumming his lute and checking behind the wagon, answers without really looking, "Not really from anywhere. Just travel around." He shrugs and pauses playing to place a loving hand on his blade and pat it, "Azi here is the closest thing to home I got I suppose."
((Not going to make this a 3 day trip Mehmen. besides, Phandalin, even in the module is only about a day and a half, and you're already at the 'day' point))
Being so entranced by the music from Rasec, who was just so many hours earlier a source of potential consternation, and now was playing quite decently over the beautiful vistas, kept Marius distracted for almost the entire trip, though luckily he was able to keep enough attention that the cart didn't hit any rocks, or small boulders that may have been lodged into the road. Salazar was distracted by the music as well.. for the first half of the day, before other things caught his eye. He saw various birds and animals going about their business. Nothing of note came from behind the cart, though at one point, rasec did witness an Al'Miraj being chased by a lone wolf, until they both had taken a tumble over the edge of the high cliffs, their fate beyond that, unknown.
Once at the sign, Marius let out a soft breath, thinking back to his knowledge of the region, which was much more than most would expect, but perhaps his history as a mercenary had allowed him to pass through here sometime before. The sun was falling softly over the sword coast, the ocean set ablaze with the brilliance of it's fiery majesty, signaling the oncoming of evening within the next hour or two at most. Marius can see that he can choose to press forward, and perhaps make it to Phandalin by the early morning, or setup camp, for the night, and begin just before dawn.Either choice being valid at this hour, though the horses would need atleast a half hour to rest, drink (from the pockets of muddy water left by the snow) and the wet grass near it. By now, the mud had mostly began to dry, and snow had once more, began to fall.
Marius looks for a spot to set up a camp that would hopefully be more defensible if possible and leads the wagon to any if available. As he slows down and stops he looks back and says, "we are not too far from our destination but far enough that it is probably better to just rest through the night and head out early in the morning. Horses will need some rest and so will we, I can take middle watch...with three of us if we take 4 hour shifts we should get enough rest." Should the group agree with Marius he will start working to hitch the horses and start setting up a basic camp for them.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ryner shrugs, just going along with it. The idea made reasonable sense, and there was the chance to ready up before reaching the destination, as opposed to arriving there tired. "Sounds fine." While Marius hitches the horse and makes camp, Ryner will check the perimeter, looking for signs of danger or other possible dangers nearby.
Despite Marius' best efforts to find a more defensible location, the area around them was either flat grasslands, or sheer cliffs leading to the coast itself, unless the group wanted to walk another chunk of miles to the nearby forest. Assuming they chose to stay near the relative safety of the road itself, just off to the side, Marius is able to setup a simple camp - Given the lack of tents, it was a simple campfire, and some bedrolls, as the snow continued to fall softly throughout the evening. The campfire keeping everyone warm, even the horses sidling nearby the warmth as much as they were allowed to.
I'll need a perception check from each person as they take their shift.
(Apologies for the small post, but I can't do much more without assuming actions or rolling for you :P But don't worry... stuff will begin starting to happen soon. ;3)

(I wasn't expecting there to be three days of filler rp, but thanks for the clear up on the actual time frame. We can chuck it up to Salazar's inexperience.)
Salazar furrowed his brow at Ryner, started to open his mouth to say something, then stopped and just shook his head. "Moonsea.. Moonsea... That is away west, right? Huh. You have come QUITE a ways for work."He grins before a worldly distraction lured his attention elsewhere. There are no complaints or even a word from him about stopping early for the evening. Rather Salazar appeared silently giddy over the whole ordeal until offers to take watch prompted him to excitedly raise his hand. "I can take last watch then. It will give me time towards the end to begin morning prayers. And it's the early bird that catches the worm as they say?" He admits, scratching at his head in embarrassment.
In spite of the cold, Salazar trusted the layer of clothing to keep him warm as took up watch from the cart. Occasionally, he steps away to do a short circuit well within the campfire's light, and even stokes it as needed for the others. But during what felt like quiet enough moments for it, he slips out a book again to write down the days event, and what he learned from the others in a tongue very few outside the keep could remotely recognize.
Marius finishes work on the camp with silent efficiency as he makes things ready and sets up the fire near enough the wagons that he can sleep by leaning against a wagon wheel with his glaive within easy reach should he need. When it comes time for his watch he finds himself struggling through it after the long day of driving the wagon and he finds himself yawning more often than not...
(Sorry gotta choose between rolling or passive, and on watches it has to be a roll since everyone wouldn't be equally as perceptive every single time they were on watch. Otherwise, any undesired perception, Investigation, or Insight roll of 10 or lower would be moot, as you could just say 'well i go with my passive then' making those rolls moot :P)
Ryner stays up for the first shift, and notices nothing. The chill wind howls softly, the moon overhead providing the world with it's beautiful light, illuminating the snow that continued to fall in silence. On Marius' shift, the night was even more silent, other than the many yawns cracking through the otherwise placid region. The horses slept standing up, occassionally swatting a fly that bit it. Otherwise, Marius was just too taken in by the silent beauty of the winters night. On the last shift, Salazar's shift starts out normal, him waking up in the fashion he usually does, and beginning his morning prayers, when divine light fills his eyes, his head, being forcibly turned by his patrons power, his vision almost zooming in to the forest in the great distance of the barely lit sky, in the dusks darkness. Salazar can see a pack of wolves at the forests edge, among them, a much larger beast, though clearly not a Dire wolf... after a moment, revelation is bespoken unto him.. knowledge flows through him. A small pack of wolves, led by nothing short of a Worg.. an evil beast. Somehow, Salazar felt this would be important, but beyond the knowledge they were watching the group from afar, Oghma refused to reveal more.. this would likely be a trial in his life.
Marius' watch was blessedly boring which was a blessing and curse in that it allowed for others to get their rest but made it exceedingly difficult for him to stay focused. Throughout his watch he tends to the fire using the collected firewood to make sure it doesn't burn down but also attempting to be conservative in rationing to make sure they had enough wood to last until the light of the morning. Along with this he would patrol a bit to both keep himself awake and get a better view of their overall camp in case an enemy tried to sneak up from behind.
Finally after four hours, of which Marius calculates based on the movement of the stars if visible, he approaches Salazar and wakes up the stuttering scholar so that he could finish the night and allow Marius to get 8 hours of rest.
Salazar comes out of the vision in a cold sweat and wide-eyed with terror. In spite of emotions threatening to overwhelm him, the Cleric holds firm to focusing his attention towards analyzing the vision in detail, and confirming at the very least the pack's direction. Only once satisfied it wasn't them he sighs in relief, clutching his holy symbol, mumbling words in an otherworldly tongue. Words most overhearing it to be prayers.
Afterwards, he continued his watch with handaxe in hand, and eyes glued firmly on the horizon in the direction of the forest. He refrained from waking the others knowing they needed the rest. A single word of power is ever at the back of his tongue for that remainder, promising to amplify his voice at a moment's notice. If the morning comes without incident. By the time the first rays pass over the campsite, Salazar's eyes are near bloodshot from staying on such high alert. But finally freed of his duties, he wakes Marius first with a few gentle shakes, half-mumbles something about, "All is safe for now. But keep an eye out on wolves tonight if we stay any closer to the forest. Led by something dangerous."

Rasec seems to continue to sleep, for some reason, very exhausted. Marius wakes up, not long after Salazars warning to be mindful, should the group need to camp out in the forest that was soon to be approaching. The snow had fell heavily the night before, the ground, cart, and party were all covered in sheets of it, until they moved. The entire land around them had been transformed overnight, winter white spread everywhere except a few sparse chunks of the nearby forest. The horses seemed to be shaking from the cold, but were otherwise fine. And though the terrain would prove a bit more difficult than the day prior, the horses could manage it, with only some time lost in the bargain. It would perhaps take an additional hour to get to Phandalin than expected, nothing to fret over. Gundren would understand right?
As the group does their morning rituals before heading out, including any eating, prayers, etc, and in Rasecs case, snoozing with a light layer of white coating his entire body, the party breached the forest itself. The sun finally began to peak through the clouds, sheddign it's warm rays in tiny beams of brilliance through the tree's, allowing warm spots to kiss the skin of everyone, but only for the briefest of moments.
Some time passes, and just as the forest fully surrounds the group, two brown lumps in the snow ahead catch Marius' attention. Surrounding the brown lumps, were black-red spots in the snow, as if the snow around them had been tainted.
Rasec/Ryner (lol), previously in deep sleep, wakes up with a small start, as if having a bad dream. He takes a moment to swipe off the ice and snow covering his body before glancing at the lumps on the road.
Taking one look at them, Ryner glances about the forest, then at his teammates, "I'll check that out, you guys stay with the cart."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
After having mentioned the two bodies, or what appeared like bodies, on the road Ryner seems to want to inspect them so Marius slows down the wagon and says, "make it quick the snow has slowed us down and I would like to make a timely delivery."As they come to a stop he prepares his bow should it become necessary as well as using his higher vantage point on the wagon to scan the area for any threats in case there was an ambush set up.

(Oof, sorry, I thought my post went through XP)
Rasec/Ryner (lol), previously in deep sleep, wakes up with a small start, as if having a bad dream. He takes a moment to swipe off the ice and snow covering his body before glancing at the lumps on the road.
Taking one look at them, Ryner glances about the forest, then at his teammates, "I'll check that out, you guys stay with the cart."
After having mentioned the two bodies, or what appeared like bodies, on the road Ryner seems to want to inspect them so Marius slows down the wagon and says, "make it quick the snow has slowed us down and I would like to make a timely delivery." As they come to a stop he prepares his bow should it become necessary as well as using his higher vantage point on the wagon to scan the area for any threats in case there was an ambush set up.
