As the crowd gathers, you all notice that most of the supplies seemed to have been taken, though by whom, you do not know. Other than they left the barrels crates and other containers where they had been, much to the dismay of the female Elf preistess who was busy moving them away from the shrine so she could begin her morning prayers, and chores. Clearly disgruntled by whomever had left this mess. The note having been blown away sometime in the night, now sogging in snow nearby, but enough people had seen it to garner a crowd.
In that crowd, as Vimak called out his challenge, a Gnome, who was likely a farmer or other similar laborer walked up. It took him a moment to get up on the chair, if there was one, otherwise asking for one to be brought out for him. Regardless, when his height issue is dealt with one way or another, he turns to face the goliath with a smirk. W-Why hello there goodsir! You're the largest human I've ever seen! Muh names Qelline Alderleaf, I run the farm on the southside of town. N-now I may be small, but never underestimate a farmer! the tiny man says, flexing his tiny, but admittedly shapely arms.
Setting his copper on the table, and taking up the position..... 15 - 11 - 8
Initially, he gets the advantage, bringing your arm at a 45* angle to the table, likely catching Vimak off-guard, but only furthering his resolve, as he gives the little man a run for his money, and overpowers him a few moments later - However just before his arm fails, he puts up a good fight, managing to slow your advance before finally losing. Well fizzlesticks and applecrumbs.... good show sir!
"Indeed," Vimak says, "farmers are strong. And you, sir, are a strong farmer!" Vimak slides the Gnome's copper next to his. He glances at Gilari, gesturing toward the table. "Would you like to wrestle someone from the crowd? Or shall we put the furniture at risk?"
He also looks around for Cirrus and Bastille, wondering what they are doing.
Basitlle is among the crowd watching the competition. She has put on her leather coat and picked up her backpack when she exited the inn. Thanks to her wooden staff and unique hair, she isn't too hard to spot among the people.
"I think there may be one more out there,"he lifts his arms to the crowd and spins in a slow circle casting his open palm across the spectators "that must be eager to see a win for the home side!" Gilari raises his voice slightly to project his words beyond the square "Who here thinks they can best me, Gilari Firmblow Luganano!" He waits as his words ring out to see who steps forward.
OOC: for the purposes of brevity I'll roll my three checks now: 152510
(I just thought of something that Bastille would totally do!)
When enough of a crowd has gathered, Bastille will go around and see if she can gather any info on the Red Brands since the party seems to be severely lacking information in that department. She will go around asking various people from the crowd and attempt to link their tidbits of information to form something more concrete, accurate and useful to the party.
Investigation: 15
Basically she's trying to use various villager accounts to form what can basically be called a database or portfolio of the Red Brands: What they do, where they are based, what their usual battle tactics are, if they employ any tricks or traps, what is their usual equipment like, how deadly are they, how many are there etc.
You can't drown someone with Create Water. If your lungs are containers than your bones are objects. Any Siege monster that attacks you deals double damage because it’s attacking your bones.
(My move is finally happening. THe campaign will be on pause until i have net acess again. Sorry, but we will continue when the move/internet are done)
In the meantime, after/if someone challenges Gilari, and it is decided that we shall begin, Cirrus will get the crowd's attention, "Ladies and Gentlemen! You are certainly a lucky few! For today, you shall witness two titans compete for the ultimate prize! Behold! The Scorningstar!" Cirrus uses prestidigitation to make a "Legend has it that this weapon was once wielded by a fearsome and bloodthirsty bugbear, and legend has it that his spirit haunts this weapon to this very day! And that the last thing that you see if you were to be killed by this weapon is the bugbear's terrible scowl!" Cirrus uses prestidigitation to create the faint sound of Klarg's furious roar. "This fearsome artifact can only be wielded by the mightiest warrior in the land, but how will we decide? A test of strength, my dear friends! Between these two stone kin behemoths! In this corner," he gestures to Vimak, "We have Hellbringer! A man whose sheer physical strength could turn a goblin to paste in a second!" Cirrus snaps his fingers to emphasize this. "and in this corner," gestures to Gilari, "we have Firmblow, who could decapitate a w- a dire wolf with one swing of his mighty blade!"
"Who do you think will win this epic clash? Place your bets before we begin!"

Vimak removes his shirt and armor. He hops up on the table and does all the bodybuilding poses: the front lat spread, side chest, rear lat spread, rear double biceps, side triceps, most muscular, and ends with the front double bicep. He kisses each bicep, right then left.
He poses again once or twice from the ground to encourage betting. Then, Vimak sits at the table.
(OOC: I will be going out of town tomorrow and be gone for 3-4 days. Can't post during that time. Please feel free to NPC Bastille until I get back. Sorry for the inconvenience)
OOC: I will be traveling to the other side of the world until the 19th of this month and have no idea what connectivity will be like. I will try and use my phone to post. Raiketsu, feel free to bot Vimak as necessary until I get back.
A burly Dragonborn steps forward, scales of black, with gleaming red eyes answers Gilari's call. Placing twice the intended bet amount down on the table, sitting with the confidence of a dragon itself. I hear your challenge, mountainborn. Let us test our strength. And with that, he readied himself, waiting for Gilari to do the same. 14 - 11 - 9 losing handily.. even moreso than the halfling! And with a frustrated grunt.... He gets up and leaves... walking away, embarrassed.
As all this goes on, Bastille goes through the crowd.. most are too engaged by the show / spectacle to care. But she gets a bit from several of them, who seem more mad at the redbrands than they are excited about the event. The commoners have no idea what battle tactics are but Bastille learns they usually run in packs, but hide with the commoners, to try to rout out dissenters, for extortion, or murder making them generally hard to find. And that they're always listening.. which may be part of why the other villagers seem less inclined to speak, out of fear. No one knows where their hideout is, however... the redbrands are seen coming and going from the farm area to the southeast. As for anything else, they're your typical thieves and thugs... wearing stereotypical armor, just colored red, under their commoners clothing. They seem like they dont ever do anything of value around town, unlike other townsfolk. And while they're not deadly alone, in packs they're fairly dangerous, much like wolves.
Cirrus Roll: 23
Cirrus' words make the crowd roar, it couldn't have been better.. they didn't even notice the slight hesitation at one point, but the noise drowns out anymore Bastille could use and learn. But people begin showering coins into the arena.... preemptively stopping anyone else who may have came to fight.. now everyone wanting to see Hellbringer and Firmblow! While these are mostly all commoners, the throngs of people shower a total of (18) 57 Gold when the money was counted up. ((Only use the number not in parenthesis)
As Vimak does his display much to the cheering of the crowd, thanks to Cirrus, as coins fly through the air. The duo do battle. ((VImak needs to beat 20, 17, 20. If a tie occurs, simply roll one more die. The winner gets the weapon.

Bastille will take this time to slip away from the crowd. Using the fact that half the village has gathered at the event, she will sneak off to the south East farms. She knows that trying to be sneaky would look suspicious. So instead she tries to be stealthy by acting like a someone who is walking there to visit a friend or for any other reason and NOT going to investigate the Red Brands. Not sure what to roll for this. Maybe Performance: 19 (Deception Also has the same modifier) Basically she's trying to not draw any attention to herself and seem perfectly normal and common that is going near the South East Farms. When she gets to the edge of the farm land, She will transform into a cat and walk about. No one suspects a cat. She will try to find the Red Brand hideout using the bread crumbs of information she got about the gang from the crowd.
I'll add that 57 g to my wallet for the time being.
