Natalia says to Niche quietly, Ibelieve that we have a few things in common you may not realize. I have known quiet a few different people in my work, and I think that I may know of someone that might interest you. He is an odd one, but he is looking for his past. I have given him an offer for my assistance but he has declined. I think that you may be able to help him, for you are the only other halfling I have met besides him that has been reluctant to talk about their past and family. She gives you a knowing look. Depending on how things turn out I think it would be good for you to both talk, or maybe it will just be a comfort because your kind in general tend to bond with each other and your family far more then outsiders. He is not far from here and I have plans to meet with him once we reach Phandalin. If this is something you get into and you can help him out, I will just be grateful and consider it a personal favor. I am sure that you will get along with him, odd as he is, may the Gods smile upon the both of you in this. Just know that things are not always as black and white as they seem, as I am sure you know. If you are willing to help me in this, it could be of a fair benefit to you, I want you to be sure in that. I believe that we will have to sit down one day and have a few drinks together in private and discuss a few other matters. But alas, who knows, it depends on how the winds carry us as to where we go. His name is Zandrich Osgood, and I believe he should be in Phandalin before we arrive, he is normally punctual, even though he doesn't always seem to be. Of course, he does not know I have moved our business timetable up, so I may just arrive before him and surprise him. (she chuckles at this and you have the feeling that the business that he is working on will not be completed before her move up arrival.)
DM note: (Both parts are important)
(sorry if the chronology is a bit messy but this was supposed to be when they were still on the road)
Niche let out a soft laugh with a hint of sadness, “This halfling you speak of, I doubt that we would share a similar past, or I’d rather we didn’t. But if they are as worth meeting as you say, sure wouldn’t mind finding a like minded fellow halfling. Well, since you insist, maybe I’ll try paying him a visit for my next job, curry a favour or two as long as the return is good. I haven’t experienced many people in my life that are as eager as you to offer a personal favour though, isn’t a common occurrence in my line of trade.“, there’s a hint of sarcasm in her voice but she quickly continued on, “Zandrich... can’t say I’ve heard of the name but I’ll remember it from now on. A more thorough discussion not on the road would be much appreciated too. Of course, if anything goes wrong know that I’m going to draw a line between you and this business you mentioned without hesitation. You seem to be one who enjoy surprises but I can’t say I share the same sentiment.”
Bran raises his hand and indicates option 1. A single goblin wouldn’t take down both horses. It’s better to return with the others and flush out all of the ambushers when they have safety in numbers.
Can we tell if the horses look similar to Gundren and Sildars?
You can tell from the distance with the perception already rolled that they are black horses, but there are not riders or items that you can see laying about. You think you might see some leather on the ground that might have been a saddle, but the color too closely matches the dirt of the road to be certain.

I currently owe a few favors to Zandrich and will be able to pay off two of his favors for this, and he will owe me one. So I do leave you to take a note in this case on how I do business. Tomorrow will be another good day for business I feel, I always seem to get a sense for these things. tonight maybe we can find a nice spot we can set up camp with a lower chance of the wolves visiting again. But a job is a job and the price Gundren is paying the lot of you is not bad. I will pay about the same for a longer journey, but as you know, it is not my call at the moment. This is very important to Gundren for some reason so we will have to carry on. as the crow flies and all. Did he tell you that while this job is rather short it is somewhat time sensitive. He does have a deadline so to speak.

I find gold a bit more reliable than favours as payment but either way sounds good to me. I’ll trust you on your sense for business, as for wolves as long as the watch is alert I think we’ll be ok. It’s true that more generous employers tend to be more strict on other aspects like the time, but so far we’ve been efficient on the journey.
Kal shrugs and nods. They will head back to the wagon and report what they've seen.
You both make your way back to the wagon to set up camp. You also tell the others what you have seen. Natalia is surprised at first but says nothing on the matter except We will find out tomorrow. It would be foolish to check tonight in the dark as goblins see well in the dark.
Looked like dey were usin' th' dead horses as bait. Dey may give up after dark. Don't know. I hate de idea of gobos tha close ta our camp while we're sleepin' though.
Overall your trip and scouting and return trip took about an 45 minutes as I do assume you walked back a bit faster due to the circumstances (This includes the time of this conversation currently. The sun is close to setting for the night with the bottom close to 'touching' the horizon.
“The night’s gonna be a hard one especially when there may be wolves around too.” Niche gave a rather worried look at the two who brought this news back, “I dont think we should provoke them when it’s dark either but would they attack us at night? Shouldn’t we hide the wagon a bit better than just the side of the road?”
She will try to look for large/dense enough bushes that will obscure the wagon a bit better.
Currently where the wagon is you have fair coverage due to the trees and shrubs. There are 2 fallen trees as you check the area surrounding the campsite that you would be able to use for hiding the wagon better. You could also camp on the forest side, (That is closer to the goblins) and it would provide you with more cover but the ground has the potential to be softer due to the recent rain.
Ifin ya wants, we can pull those downed trees over, maybe make use of 'em. Could move de whole camp site over, but I'm a mite concerned wit de softa ground and da wagon.

Natalia finishing heating everyone's meals for the night and letting them cool for dinner, says to Kal, I will give you a hand with moving the tree's if that is what you want to do. It makes no difference to me.
“I don’t want to get any closer to the forest than we need to either.” Niche is already sneaking small bites of the dinner as the two moved the trees, “I can take the first watch if you guys don’t mind, don’t feel quite sleepy just yet.”
(Switching up the watch order a little bit just for fun, also would be more in character since she’s a bit nervous about tonight)
Natalia eyes Niche taking bits of food but says nothing about it. I will take the second watch. She secures her bag in her tent and closes it after the trees have been moved into place for the covering of the camp.

Jes' depen's where or not the gobos come dis way when dey get tired of ambushin'. Dark won' stop 'em from attackin' ifin dey do come dis way.
Can Kal make a Survival check (advantage with Niche's Aid) to see if there is any way to hide the wagon better? Ignore if not necessary: 22

Do we need to do/roll anything for hiding the wagon and/or campsite? Any reason not to do a standard watch rotation (alphabetical) for overnight?
"Fiction is the lie through which we tell the truth." A Camus
No roll required on being able to hiding the cart (Survival already covered it, was a DC 10) and the watch rotation is up to the party.
Now if anyone does come this way, there will be a roll required from someone in the party. (goblins or a traveler)
