Cyndral lingers a bit towards the back of the pack, taking notes on which fungi Shiskakli collects, which they skip, how they're prepared, and a few dozen other small details as they proceed along. Much of what he writes, it sounds like he already knows, but there are strange gaps in other bits, things anyone who'd lived the majority of their life in the Underdark should know, to which he simply nods and writes things down.
Seeing Cyndral follow and take notes Shishakli slows down and gives him a bit of a lesson in how to find things that are edible, which are poisonous, where water can be found, etc. He's been alone for so long, and learned most of this from his parents, and then just time alone. Never having had someone to share the knowledge with, he finds he's somewhat excited to teach it.
Everyone keeps moving through the passages keeping a reasonable speed but stopping enough for foraging to continue.
NPC Foraging 9
Verim scribbles rough directions of how long you travel for before making a turn and Cyndral continues making notes, focusing mainly on Shishakli. El keeps a lookout, aided slightly by the light of Verim’s shield but listens out more than anything.
El Perception check 19
The passageways split into a number of different directions, Gnarls and Tobias being at the front begin to make their way down one of the passages as Shishakli’s senses kick in, he sniffs and notices something wrong about this passage (Passive Perception 14) managing to call out to stop Gnarls from moving ahead and more importantly, breathing in any more. Shishakli recognises the very faint smell of toxic gases that are filling this chamber and knows that they will hurt anyone who breathes them in.
The group continue down a second path to the left which too has the same faint smell, eventually you settle for a third route, still the same narrow corridors but this one appears to have a slight decline in its direction and opens up slightly further down.
As everyone makes their way down the passage you hear a clatter of metal against the rock floor and a shouting of "You ******* idiot! Someone's coming, get into position!" another voice says "Ah, crap, sorry boss" and a bit of muttering, in total you all hear 3 separate voices but El hears a fourth that says "Wait until their in before we jump out"
Once you round the corner you will see a small cavern with a single stalagmite to one side (These count as Half Cover) The three bandits appear to be wearing leather armour with masks covering their faces, each with a light crossbow in their arms aiming towards the tunnel you currently reside in. They each have a scimitar attached to their belts. Their leader, dressed in black with a slight shimmer to his armored breast plate stands ready wielding a scimitar and a dagger.
Gnarls will creep forward until he can see B2, but no further than S14. If he can see B2, he'll channel his inner rage, and fire a crossbow bolt at it.
"It sounds like even down here highwaymen are a problem,"Tobias says to the group behind him. "Look sharp, people!"
He charges in past the halfling, taking position next to the rock jutting out from the ground. "Don't you all have better thing to do?! We have you four well outnumbered! This won't end well for you!"He raises his hand toward the figure to the figure hiding in the tunnel to his right, beginning to glow with a radiant fire. His glare passes to all that he can see, waiting to see if they will heed his warning.
"Consider that a warning shot!"he says indicating Gnarls's shot.

Ready, Sacred Flame on first bandit to attack, 7 radiant on failed DexST, DC 12. No benefit from cover on the ST.
Something inside Gnarls triggers as he hears the people in the cave, his thoughts go to previous fights and he gets himself ready for what’s about to start, with a deep breath, he runs forwards, crossbow in his hands, scanning the dimly lit cave for a target. Due to the strange workings of the Underdark, Gnarls can see reasonably well in this strange light that is neither a bright light or darkness, it reminds him of fighting at night time under the light of a full moon. Not letting his thoughts distract him, he releases a bolt the flies through the air, hitting the arm of the masked figure attempting to hide in one of the small passages that lead off of the main caved section. The bolt glides through and creates a tear in the bandits clothing that soon becomes a slight shade of red in the area that the bolt skimmed.
Tobias moves forwards and stands ready. As he hears the Bandit captain call out “Ha! You think your numbers will match our skill?”
Cyndral snaps into action with a small bit of hesitation, being sure his notes are tucked away as he dashes a step or two forward (W18.) Chanting familiar words of protection, he leans against the wall and conjures shadow-stuff to wrap him in a protective layer of the Weave (Mage Armor) and does his best to look ahead and survey the situation. Between the tight corridor and the obscurement of the cavern ahead, he's unsure just how many foes there are, or how useful his mostly-ranged magics will be, so he pulls his shortsword into his dominant left hand while gesturing to those behind him.
"Ebra-" With a start, he realizes he's begun to give his advice in Elvish before forcibly shaking his head and continuing in the common tongue. "Everyone not equipped or skilled for a close-up fight, fall back to the last bend in the trail, protect yourselves! Those of you who think you can handle it, it seems we have several foes ahead of us. Eldeth, care to show us what that Dwarven sword of yours can do? I'll support you all from here with my spells, but give a shout and I shall be near as your shadow to fight by your side."
”Bandits? Right I’d better alert those at the back”
Verim hopes the light from his shield cannot be seen but for a short moment turns it to red to alert those at the back of danger, he then snuffs it out. Verim feels a strange sensation as he channels his light energy from his eyes, those who are looking at Verim can how see a light emanating from his heart along with the vessels surrounding it, he breathes out.
(OOC - False Life is an action, and so, using the hide action with stealth wouldn't really work, with the roll being lower than their passive perception it doesn't make too much difference but it is something to remember)
A slight glow comes from both Cyndral and Verim before dying down once more, Verims increase in resilience and Cyndrals increase in protection both kick in fairly quickly as they both move forwards slightly. There doesn't appear to be a reply from Eldeth once Cyndral calls her, the distance of the further back group could be more than 30ft. You can all asume that they should be on their way or cautious after Verim's change in Light colour.

El runs forwards and mutters "I could kill you with my eyes closed" The sound seems to resonate through the chamber in an odd sort of whisper that echos, the Bandit hears it but seems to shrug off any ill effect. El runs back into the chamber for cover.
The now slightly illuminated Tobias stands with his spell at the ready as a crossbow bolt flies towards him but misses, the attack is received with a counter action as the bandit that has just fired the shot is met by a blinding light that erupts right next to where he's stood, the radiant flames licking at him and beginning to burn. A second bolt is fired at Tobias as he manages to leap to one side, avoiding the shot.
Gnarls sees some movement in front of him and anticipates a bolt flying towards him, while still in a rage he jumps, ducks and lands in one smooth action, avoiding the incoming bolt.
Shishakli, seeing the party ready for action, runs up to U17, and seeing the bandits thinks to himself "alone I would have avoided this group... It will take some time to learn how this group deals with threats..." then seeing the bandit straight ahead of him (B2), takes his shortbow out and attempts to hit him with an arrow.
Although thinking he could avoid situations like this alone, Shishakli also feels good for a moment. No longer being in captivity or rushing to escape, dealing with bandits and thieves rather than Priestesses and their trained guards, but most importantly, using his trusted Shortbow. Crossbows are simple enough to use but the feeling of drawing back a bow, getting the angle right and releasing to see an arrow flying at such a distance is so much more satisfying. He fires and the arrow travels right over Gnarls’ head, through the cavern and directly into the heart of his target who stands for a couple of seconds before taking two steps backwards and falling to the floor.
You hear the captain shout out “Argh! You’ll pay for that!” As he runs forwards with both weapons in his hands, he ducks behind the stalagmite and sees Tobias and swings towards the half-Orc. Tobias sees him and lifts his shield to avoid the captains scimitar, the sword bounces of but comes down for another blow which Tobias also deflects before feeling the cold tip of a blade push through a small gap in his Armor as the captain shoved a small dagger into Tobias’ side.
Cyndral, seeing the bandit swinging away at Tobias, abandons his former plan and dashes forward to give his newfound friend a hand. Doing his best to squeeze through his allies, he dashes beside them, trying to split the enemy's attention and relieve the weight of the attacks.
The half-orc winces as the bandit's dagger finds its mark. He glares at his foe. "You were warned," he says through gritted teeth."Now, you will... BURN!"With the last word, the cleric's mace is engulfed in holy fire. He brings his arm up to deliver a powerful blow down upon the apparent leader of this band.

Tobias’ mace is engulfed in flames. The light shows off the features of the bandit captains face, his expression somewhat surprised by the half-orcs abilities. The expression soon changes from surprise to the look of pain as the mace is swung right into the stomach area of the bandit. He lets out a yell as the mace hits and a small amount of blood flies out of his mouth.

Gnarls screams a blood curdling cry, swept up in his battle-lust. Dropping his crossbow, he runs to N13 planning to attack the Captain, but seeing the other bandit hiding behind the stalagmite, opts for the easier target first, drawing his shortsword and swinging a violent backhand slash at B1.
