Ignoring the cruel drow priestess, and the returning voices, as best he can, Bezel descends the rope. Disgusted by the decadent luxory of the chamber while wretches like he and his companions are enslaved in filth and left to die outside, the frazzled tiefling tears and slashes one of the cushions, calming only after Bell's reassuring touch and words. Taking a deep, calming breath, he finally responds in a tired voice tinged with gratefulness,'
"Thank you, feathered one. I... have many doubts and fears. Your kindness is appreciated. We will survive this, all of us... together."
Seeing his allies examining the chest, the gaunt, bronze-skinned tiefling walks over to examind the table.

Also on the table is a jewelry box, lined with satin and containing a small silver-framed mirror worth approximately 10 gold to the right buyer. There are some scattered about letters, most notably one that indicates that the convoy from Menzoberranzan has been delayed - which would explain why you haven't been transported yet. You notice that the paper doesn't sit flat on the table and see creases along every inch of it - as if someone had crumpled it up in a fit of rage and then flattened it as best they could afterwards.

Bezel will take the silver mirror and notes, thinking to examine the correspondence further once the escapees have reached sanctuary. While his allies are painstakingly focused on the seemingly dangerous chest, the tiefling with go and examine the alter.
