George checks on the status of the roadblock to the north as he comes back in with the last of the work crew.
He's eager to hear about updates since they left town. They need to think about crafting some more effective weapons and armor - worried about those bikers hooking up with the prisoners.
Simple shields, spears and breastplates would let them drill a militia..... wonder if Gunny can handle something like that
Spears are easy, tie a knife to the end of a long stick. Shields are a bit harder but doable. Armour, especially metal armour will take a lot of work and trial and error.
The Mayor calls your group together; Max, George, Eva, Juliette, Herman and Uthvern. "You did such a good job on the road we have something else for you." You see a couple of the horses with supply packs and a cart. "We are going to trade that bear meat to Waldport." She gives you a massive list of useful items "Anything from that list plus we need to warn them about the escaped prisoners, Big Elk is closer to them than us. Also get any news you can about what is happening in other parts of Oregon. Especially Portland, Salem and Corvallis."
“Will do.” Eva looks at the list and what things are needed. “Also since we are going farther out, can the town spare anything else for our journey?” *ooc also since it’s been a couple of days I can safely assume that I’m fully healed up*
'Happy to help - we should probably also think about specialists with skills that can be traded back and forth'. I know we have the good Doctor here - anybody else in town have any unusual or interesting skills we could offer? A blacksmith? A midwife?'
After the shock of fighting a freaking bear went away, Juliette was able to have a little rest for acouple of days before they had to head out once again.
"I can’t do much, but I’ll continue doing my best for sure!" That was the thought she decided to keep in her mind. She couldn’t turn back now - there was nowhere else to go. So she joined the team, preparing to leave for a longer journey out of town.
"Also, is there anything we need to know about the road we’re using to get to the town? Maybe, the terrain or something else, that could potentially make our journey more difficult? Better to be prepared for it"

You are all healed, Xbows are supplied to those who need range weapons. Body armour (AC12) and shields (+2AC) to those who can use them. Swords or spears as well to those who need them. On that list is wire, you can make chain mail armour from wire. It's just a lot of work.

In the first town meeting you where told that a Tom had a steam powered paddle wheeler. This is where people found out that steam power doesn't work either. At present Tom is trying out an idea of reversing the drive train, putting the paddles in the river and using water power to do stuff. If you can find someone with a mechanic engineering background who could help make this work that would be very helpful.

The Mayor "Actually your job is to be the negotiator, you are the best talker in the group. The road is in good condition and as you approach Waldport you should meet some sentries who will see you into town. Ask to meet their mayor, Frank Blair, and tell him why you're there. I know Frank well and he's a level headed fellow."
Uthvern is silent in the background taking it all in as he had basically taken on the bodyguard position in his mind. This trip would be strenuous, of that he was sure. He would be ready to face whatever challenges placed against him. "I'll try my damndest to make sure we all stay alive. If we go against criminals, I will remind them of whom they should fear."
Your little caravan makes it to Waldport without trouble. You are coming to the guards at a barricade on the road between the towns. All looks fine to Eva and George but Uthvern notices something amiss, the guards are wearing Waldport PD uniforms but he sees an unusual number of tattoos.
Uthvern tells the others without drawing suspicion, throwing in a laugh to make it appear as if nothing is amiss.
"Guys, I don't know how the police feel about tats, but those guys have quite a few. And I mean quite a few. Might be the prisoners. What do yall want to do?" Laughing loudly, "No way, they did that! Unbelievable!"
Another night’s rest should heal you up.

Well I guess Uthvern will go around and try to keep the townsfolk morale up 😂😂😂 before getting himself some shuteye

Herman suggest George not to hunt
”there is plenty of food that otherwise will rot from the fridges and you can always bump in those prisoners, and don’t do it alone”

George - Are we on horseback? How far a ride? How far a walk?
The horses have packs and are pulling a cart. It’s about 10 miles.
George rides a bit ahead of the group - looking for signs of life, particularly the prisoners - also looking for anything of interest to salvage -
perception 7
Eva will be at the rear of the group to make sure no one attacks us from behind
Perception 3
Well I guess Uthvern will be in the middle of the pack standing and looking around as well cause why not 😂😂😂 Perception: 8
Rolled a nat 20 whoo

How many of them? What do they were? Weapons? Are there civilians or others around?
