On he way back to Sir Yedder I would have made it known that Mordai would have liked one of the Fireball scrolls and that one of the main fights should carry the Amulet.
"Thank you Sir Yedder, Vitae was indeed mad and needed to be put down. Tarden is still at the lighthouse taking care of the peasants that were left behind and I am sure he would like some help. As for what's next on the list I suggest we take care of the Tails as they seem so to be the most threat to the town and innocents."
"As for payment, continued room and board would be great, and then we get to keep whatever spoils we find on our adventures. Anything we don't need we can pass it along to you. Does that work for you?"
Responding to Reginald, Sir Yedder says: "Well, magical surges are the byproduct of someone casting spells, as far as I know. They can be good or bad, interesting or boring, anything, really. I don't know if that is in any way notable, so I would not really care about it".
Then, he agrees with Morgan: "Yes, as far as threats go, that is the more pressing one. However, both the monk and the elf are being extremely troublesome and if they were to be quietened, I would have more time to train men to deal with the Tails, so they are very important as well".
Finally, hearing Mordai, he says: "Friends, you dealt with Vitae, that has already earned you room and board without having to do anything else for as long as I am in Genmore. And the spoils are yours regardless, what's won by combat, shall not be taken without one, as my ancestors used to say. Tell you what, if you go to deal with the Tails and destroy them or make them disappear from here, I will pay you one hundred gold pieces. Additionally, for every one of them killed, I will add another ten gold pieces. Bring me their tails as proof. No need for the entire ones, of course, just the tip would be enough. What do you say?"
Tozo spends the time back introspective and quiet, carefully studying the books and papers he took from Vitae's sanctum, and saddened by the senseless exploitation of his followers. It would take an eternity to decipher all this, but perhaps it could be adapted to prevent future catastrophes from occurring. "I hope you don't take my silence as ignorance, friends. I am simply trying to understand what drove Vitae to this. Get inside his head a little, as it were."
Once they're in front of Yedder and he dismisses the concerns of the magical surge, he'll speak up again. "I am afraid I simply must disagree, Sir Yedder. I am most troubled by this notation, and I think Regi is right to be too." He shakes his head. "We should all be paying attention to this. What is unremarkable yesterday may swiftly grow to be a problem tomorrow. That said, I certainly agree that there's a time and a place for that, and all priorities must be balanced."
"Fine, let me see, southeast from the windmill, you say... Yes, I believe I know what could be meant by that. Fine, tell you what, you go take care of the Tails, and, when you come back, I will have at least some information about this magical surge. How does that sound?" Sir Yedder says, then waves you to go ahead. He does not want to discuss this matter further, at least not now. "Oh, and yeah, help yourselves, if you want additional weapons, you can take some".
Then, after looking you over, he says:
"Since you have chosen to go after the Tails, you probably should get some rest. You can go now, but you seem too weak to do so, go tomorrow, when you will have recuperated a bit, or the day after, when, in all likelihood, you would be completely healthy. What do you choose?"
Replying to Sir Yedder, "Yes I believe a nights rest would do us some good and then we will take care of your tails problem. Hopefully your research into the magical surge will prove enlightening and maybe bring some information about what happened to us. Thank you."
With that Mordai would enjoy a nice meal and then get some much needed rest to replenish his body and his mind.
“Thank you Sir Yedder, while it may be nothing. And that mage was certainly a mad man... he wasn’t a fool either. We will take care of the tails for you no problem. Do you have some sort of large sack? I plan on doing a lot of work here.”
As Mordai leaves Regi catches up, “Thank you. I’m not the best with words... I appreciate the back up.”

Gash- Lvl14 Goblin Wizard - The High Court of the Aasimar Queen
Based on the party's hesitation, Sir Yedder offers them room and board for the next two nights, so that they will recuperate. Two days later, they are completely refreshed, with Health Points and Spell slots completely recovered. Mordai is also given three sacks.
The party sets out in the direction the Centaur pointed them to, trying to scout out the Tails' camp and destroy it. Before they leave Genmore, Sit Yedder wishes them luck:
"I will be leaving quite soon to find out about the magic surge that you wanted to know about. Hopefully, I will be back before you, but, if not, I will be leaving Tarden in charge of the village, so you can go to him. Remember, 100 Gold for success, 10 more per each Tail killed. May Light shine your path, friends".
The party goes along the quaint village road. It is quiet, and rather nice, with picturesque visages along the way. After several hours of walking, a small river comes into view. the road crosses the river via a small stone bridge. Knowing that the Tails are beyond the river, the party proceeds with caution, but does not need to look for the Tabaxi for too long. On the left to the party, near the riverbank, nestled near the small forest along the river, you see smoke arising. Coming closer to the source of the smoke, you see that there was a small camp here, housing maybe one or two dozen individuals. However, it is set ablaze, with about a dozen dead Tabaxi laying around, their bodies awash with their own blood, some of them having arrows protruding from them, and others being clearly cut with a blade. Before you have a chance to investigate, you hear a voice with a very thick accent from beyond the smoke:
"This is a place of death already, no need to add your souls into the list of the departed. Turn back. Now!"
with this, a woman emerges from the campsite. She is wearing leather armor with steel parts, a sword on her belt and a bow and arrow on her back. She has blue tattoos on her face and red hair falling to her shoulders. Upon looking at her face, you are certain, that she is not human. Instead, you realize, that before you stands an elf. She looks like this:
Morgan’s first reaction is to reach for his sword and scan the area looking at the smoke, the bodies and finally the elf. He looks over her, her armour and weaponry.
“What in the... what happened here? Who do you fight for? Is this the tails doing?”
He pauses and looks to his companions and then back at the elf.
Morgan sees that the dead Tabaxi are reasonably armed and armored, in line with what Sir Yedder had shown them - Mostly leather armor and simple weapons. Reginald sees, that the dead Tabaxi are, beyond being killed, untouched, as if their killer though touching these bodies was beneath them.
"I need no help, nor do you know me" Says the elf, then continues: "Or are you the horse's men, who arrived here far too late?"
Responding to Regi before we left, "Not a problem, I am here to help, it was my pleasure."
Making sure to not fall behind the rest of the party Mordai walks alone seeking comfort in the silence, losing himself in his own mind. Trying to remember anything from his past, some type of memory had to be there somewhere.
He was jarred from his musing when the elf appears out of nowhere and is a bit startled with her abruptness. "Yes we were sent here by Sir Yedder and it appears we arrived a bit too late. I am Mordai and you are? Are there any more of you around so we can inform Sir Yedder that the tails have been take care of. Are there anymore in the area?"
"Of all the creatures in the party, and this filthy son of the betrayer is the one to talk? I thought that stupid horse had a better sense than that!
I am Kallista. I am here, because I had to do your job! If the horse was gallant enough to send hunters and quieten these animals quicker, I would not have had to kill them. And no, there is nobody else here, as I do not need help in quieting them, as they were disturbing the lady. Though there was a small band of them that left prior to my attack, so I may have to return here, if they do not remain silent".
She is about to continue her rant, but Kallista suddenly grabs her temple and concentrates on something.
"Yes, my lady. I understand, my lady. I will return now".
With this, she turns a ring on one of her fingers and, with a snap, disappears.
You are left alone in a field of carnage, with dead Tabaxi lying around.
"I think she was talking abut me, but I have no idea why. I will ask Sir Yedder wen we get back what she was talking about. I am curious though about the woman is she was just talking to, s she the "Lady" that Sir Yedder s talking about that wanted the wolves taken care of, that had a bunch of henchwoman or is she the possible "She" that Vitae was cackling on about. I have a sinking feeling we will see her again and I am not sure that meeting will be as amicable as this one was."
"Well so be it, lets get about collecting what treasure there might be around he camp and collect our tails. Then maybe can spot the trail of the ones she mentioned scampered off. Then we can possibly determine their number an follow them to see where tey are ling low. What do you all think?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
OOC: I Was going to roll party perception to see what you found, but since Morgan got a natural crit (even though they are technically not applicable fro skill checks), I will forego this:
The field is filled with exactly ten dead Tabaxi. All of their tails still on the bodies of course. They are untouched, so the party is able to go through them one by one. Moreover, there are some supplies in the camp as well, which the party can also examine. All in all, you find:
51 Gold pieces;
16 Daggers;
10 Spears;
8 Crossbows;
72 Crossbow Bolts;
9 Shortswords;
4 Battleaxes;
1 Padded Armor;
3 Hide Armor;
1 Chain Shirts;
1 Half Plate.
As the party is busy examining the dead bodies and loot, they hear a rustling...
Party perception:
Average perception is 3.4, rounded upwards being 4. Member with the highest perception is both Tozo and Reginald, with four. 4+4=8, so the party perception bonus amounts to 8.
Perception roll: 20
But they are quite late to react. They see several Tabaxi approaching them and barely have time to pick up their weapons. Those Tails that Kallista mentioned to have recently departed, surely must have returned to their camp.
There seems to be one fairly tall, older looking Tabaxi, one Tabaxi that seems female and looks like a wizard, and two more Tabaxi that are lightly armed and armored. They look like this:
It is clear, that there can be no diplomatic solution here. The four Tails are clearly distracted from seeing the carnage from afar, so the party automatically wins initiative, without needing to roll.
Here is the placement before the first round of combat:
OOC: Of course, the camp is littered with bodies of dead Tabaxi, but they have no bearing on combat, so I am not including them. The trees and tents can be used as cover and if the square is fully or mostly occupied by them, those squares cannot be navigated. You can start your combat actions now.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Mordai hisses at the sudden appearance of the 4 tabaxi and then once more speaks out some arcane words as 4 green balls of force swirl around his waiting for a release. e then points at the older Tabaxi and lets loose all four globes as they streak out and around the trees to slam into the creatures. At which point Mordai will duck down and scamper on over to t8.
Attack: 13 Damage: 17
[ooc: Still need to figure out how to roll Magic Missile dice in their roller. I am sure there is a way to do it, I just need to test some things out, so just ignore the attack portion of the roll above.]

Morgan moves to H8 pulling his blade out ready, he closes his eyes for a second and a small glow flashes for a moment around the blade until his body shines slightly in the light. Casting false life gaining 8 temporary hit points.
“I guess there’s no talking to them! Hold strong Reginald if you need to fall back I can hold them!”
