The robot replies to your questioning of his doings with the elf "Biologics, I attempted to apprehend this Elf for questioning of his involvement in the illicit substances trade that has caused statistical spike in the sentient biologic mortality in this municipality. This Orc’s involvement is as a possible minor accomplice and I calculate he is what you biologicals deem a “petty criminal”. Based on his method of attack against me, he is a possible trafficker of non-sentient biologic specimens. There is no need to inform the constabulary at this time. This Elf must be verified as a source I. The toxic illicit substance trade. There is compensation offered by the municipality in this matter but only for correct suspects"

Thokk - Taking a sideways glance towards the newcomers while trying to keep his attention on the mechanical being Thokk begins to think about how best to get out of this situation that started out as a simple trade. Thokk thinks, "It's getting a bit crowded around here...what should I do? Why does this thing keep talking?! Wait...what did that thing say? Apprehend? Questioning? Petty Criminal?! Why you...!" , Thokk then says aloud, "Whoa, whoa, whoa... [Thokk drops the bow and arrow on the ground] Now, I am not claiming to be an expert and I don't know how they do things where this Thing [Thokk points at the Warforged] comes from, but typically you'd want the person that you are wanting to question...ALIVE! Marun struggled to grapple with this idea of the mechanical creature. It couldn't possibly be a suit of armour that was being worn and the way it interacted with people around it made it feel like it didn't have a soul. It was as if a pot or a stone had suddenly started to move on its own and talk. It was far from what he had expected when he exited the tavern, and now to hear that it had killed someone? Could you trust something that didn't have a heart beating in its chest, or was it as cold as the steel it was made out of?
The half-orc holding the bow suddenly became very angry, turning on the mechanical man who seemed to be accusing him of a crime. Even though the anger was not directed at him, he felt the fire burning behind those words. This was familiar territory. How else was a captain supposed to control the will of dozens of unruly seafaring rogues, whose only thoughts were their next fight and their next pinch of gold?
The tension was thick and Marun could feel things bubbling up. He would have to decide quickly which side to support in this moment. He had inserted himself too much into the situation already to simply step back, and besides, it had been a few days since he had last cracked a skull. From the little conversation he had caught he figured that this half-orc and an elf, now seeping slowly across the pavement, had met and were involved in some, possibly, illegal activity. Marun could hardly hold that against them, but they had managed to get caught. This machine had tracked them down and tried to 'question' the elf, resulting in the scene before him. "Could it be some kind of law enforcement?"If so it might have the backing of the whole city, but then again it wasn't exactly living. Not like the rest of us anyway.
Marun stepped up beside the half-orc. "Look," Marun stared at the eyes of the machine, searching for a glimmer of something more than mechanics behind them. "I don't care who you work for or what you are. That was a person you just killed, and there's NO ONE to say it was justified except you, the...thing...standing over the body. That's not the way things work under my watch. Now, I would thank you to think about your next actions very carefully"

Looking at the scene as I walk out, I can see that it is complicated, thinking "maybe I should have stuck to my ale, and that young Larzz, he may know something of what's going on" however decide to stay outside. Something obviously has gone wrong, and someone needs to pay, but who?
"They're some big words there," speaking to the confessed killer of the elf, "and I might be a little in my ale, but tell us plainly what it is that the Elf has done (or you say he's done). I don't think you're part of the city guard, so who are you working for? And like he said,"I gesture to the Dragonborn standing near me, "watch your next words"
I look at the Orc with the bow "And don't think you're out of the fire sargh (Orc)"
OOC: On my phone so unable to color.
Thokk- Unsure of what else he can do in this situation decides to play it plainly...addressing the Dwarf and the Dragonborn he says, "Look...I could have left any time I wanted. In fact, the very thought had crossed my mind because this Elf is no one to me and the only thing we share in common is equally being victims." (Uses his finger to indicate the Elf) "I too was attacked as well and chose to defend myself from an obvious threat...had I not there would be two dead bodies in this alley for the rats to feast upon."
Now addressing the Warforged, "And You...you said that there was a reward for information possibly about this Elf to give to the so-called 'corrupt' Municipality...why?"
While this is happening Thokk takes hold of his pouch with ball bearings.

Marun shook his head. Did this thing not grasp the basic concepts of communication. Well if he couldn't get it to listen to threats or persuasion, the only other options really left to him was force. Looking at the ground though he was not sure if he wanted to take that route just yet. The orc seemed to have some ideas of what to say so Marun let him continue to speak. With that in mind Marun eases off to one side, looking to be in a flanking position with the machine and rests looks around to assess the best place to position himself in the event of a fight.
Investigation: 18
OOC: Marun is lower in intelligence so doesn't see alternatives easily when he doesn't have time to consider them. In pressure moments he reverts to tried and true methods - Intimidate, sweet talk or bash :)

*ooc* sorry its so big.
He looks toward the elf for a few moments before turning toward everyone else in the alley. "What the machine says is true, this elf has been a key component to a very deeply and corrupt ring of deaths. Its a shame he is dead, I could have used him to get even more information however. . . thats the least of my concerns. This elf was of high nobility and humans and elves have never got along too well. I can take care of that situation however, if anyone is interested in stopping all of the sudden, staggering amounts of deaths all around Arkadia then speak now." He then turns toward Thokk specifically before adding "And if its money your after, there will be plenty if the tasks are complete. Dont decide too hastily however, the adventure can get very dangerous."

Backstory
Marun jumped a little as the elf landed on the ground and he grabbed out his axe. Taking a defensive stance he heard what he had to say while watching the reaction of the others. Money was always good. He would need that if he was to regain any sort of position to challenge his former captain. This person obviously had influence as well. Maybe this was the opportunity that he eluded him so far. "I've seen enough danger to know that it finds you whether you look for it or not. I would rather be the one swinging the axe than dodging the blade. But as you suggest, aid is not free. My life is worth quite a shiny sum."
"That Orc isn't half silly," I think to myself as I listen to him attempt to get further information from the creature, seriously considering the Orc's suggestion, "not that I'd trust him to keep his word of course, but some extra coins in the purse may come in handy., let's see where this goes.Information must be more precious than diamonds to that thing, it is so reluctant to share anything."
I heft my battle-axe and watch carefully "If you think about running, just consider that an axe to the knee is a great leveller"
**OOC - I was typing the above when the DM posted his post, edited to add in extra information after the elf drops in (also edited to refer to correct character in thoughts)**
Taken aback by the sudden appearance of the elf, I shift stance and address the new interloper
"So, it seems that this little alley has become quite popular tonight,"I give a harsh chuckle, "but what are some random deaths to us? And why should we get involved in something that would normally be the responsibility of the guard? Would I be correct in thinking that either a) the guard doesn't care; or b) it's beyond their capability?"
"And who are you when you're not dropping into alleys on random folk?

Marun is actually dragonborne, or dragonken. Ur thinking of thokk
Thokk - Hearing a chuckle that seems to be getting closer when suddenly another figure is standing next to the war-forged and the dead elf which causes Thokk to become startled. He starts looking up and all around wondering if there are any more surprise elves to this evening. "Who in any of the hells is this pointy eared person?! How is he so quietly footed? Wait...that could be bad for me...unless I can get him to teach me how to be just as quiet! (I doubt it)." The New-Elf speaks and says,"What the machine says is true, this elf has been a key component to a very deeply and corrupt ring of deaths. Its a shame he is dead, I could have used him to get even more information however. . . that's the least of my concerns. Oh...he knows the robot...greaaaat. Why would I want to be a part of 'stopping the staggering amounts of deaths'? Oh...is he looking at me?" The New-Elf says,"And if it's money you're after, there will be plenty if the tasks are complete. Don't decide too hastily however, the adventure can get very dangerous." Once the New-Elf finishes addressing Thokk he quietly reaches into his coat pocket and touches the pouch of coins he had received from the dead High-Elf...while it has some heft to it, Thokk thinks, "It could always be heavier". Thokk listens carefully as the Dragon-Born responds to the New-Elf by saying, “I've seen enough danger to know that it finds you whether you look for it or not. I would rather be the one swinging the axe, than dodging the blade. But as you suggest, aid is not free. My life is worth quite a shiny sum.” And the Dwarf says, “So, it seems that this little alley has become quite popular tonight,” he chuckles and continues, “but what are some random deaths to us? Would I be correct in thinking that either a) the guard doesn't care; OR b) it's beyond their capability? And who are you when you're not dropping into alleys on random folk?”. After they have said their peace Thokk becomes uneasy about all of this and thinks, "This random Elf is expecting more random individuals to help in a cause that doesn't effect them personally...is the cost of more gold worth the hassle of whatever this New-Elf has in mind." For once Thokk is at a loss for words and waits to respond to this New-Elf to hear it's answers to the Dragon-Borns and Dwarfs questions.
As Rusty is scanning the alley way and roofs calculating any escape route, he catches a hint of movement and a moment later another Elf is falling gracefully from the roof. Rusty is impressed with the grace the Elf displays in his landing and his stealthiness, he can tell by the reaction of the crowd that none of those present were aware of the Elf's presence or decent. As the Elf addresses the crowd Rusty calculates that the situation is improving now that the new biological has confirmed all of Rusty's previous statements.Rusty is recalculating the situation and the percentage of it turning violent has dramatically decreased. Rusty makes note that yet again, where logic and deduction fail the suggestion of financial gain persuades the meat sacks.
The Elf has repeated Rusty's own mission and the Elf appears to be one that an alliance, even if a short one, would be beneficial, especially if they have more interactions with more biologicals that will require more finesse and charisma than Rusty has. Rusty will look at the new arrival before he speaks.
You, Elf biological of probable Underdark origins, you appear to be on the same operation as myself. I have concluded that it would be mutually beneficial to undertake this endeavour cooperatively.
* ooc * everyone please be patient i will address everyone in the alley today, now that mostly everyone has reacted to the post. I also have few other characters to get to that havnt been gotten to in couple dayz
Ben still looks confused before saying "The Elf on the floor does seem to fit my description" he then reaches in a hidden pocket within his over coat and pulls out a medallion. The medallion sets on a black shiny chain, the medallion itself is gold and has the same symbol from your "vision"? He holds it in his hand before adding "Alex never seemed like like the shady type. He also never mentioned anything other than how important the dealing was. If that is him we need to figure out what happened so the boss can take the "proper "course of action. (This is the opening to your post to be sure you can react efficiently)
- But we DO know what happened here - that thing over there confessed the murder.- Torn between instincts, screaming "run and hid" and curiosity Nawien become a bit irritated. - I do not know if he is some kind of vigilante or a bounty hunter, but he hunted down our customer and killed him. And if that medallion belonged to the customer, then it is definitely him - I was following that symbol in my visions.
- I think we should return, give back the medallion to Mr. Elles, and explain, that the customer is killed and marked as a criminal, so, better not to associate with him in any way, - she added regretfully. - Do not think we can learn more here.
Despite her words she did not rush away but was standing a bit of a distance from the body waiting for anything else to happen with a look "we were just passing by and stumbled upon a scandal" - pure curiosity, nothing else. She was practically projecting Innocent curiosity.

Nawien turned around quite surprised and very alarmed - the crowd she and Ben kept away from did not look friendly. The new face on the scene did not look friendly either - considering weapons and hunter-smooth movements - but at least looked beautiful. Say what you want about arrogant elves they are a pleasure to look at. And, apparently, have an amazing hearing.
- I am Nawien, - answered she as polite as she could manage, - and this is Ben. Greetings to you too. Not sure how much have you heard, but we indeed would like to know what had happened here. I am afraid we are at a big disadvantage here and got involved into something neither of us understands.
Listening did not kill anyone yet, and while elf is talking she could study him and figure out what to do next.
Questions are - what she can tell about him? (from his attire, weapon, speech patterns and accent, manners and so on) Can she detect if he is saying the truth?
Waiting for the ringing in her ears to stop Sumazura will sit up with a surprised expression on her face and say
"What in the 9 hells just happened?! That blast knocked me down from over 30' away."
Getting back to her feet she will check to make sure she and her walking stick are okay before looking back to the fight.
Now that you've regained your composure you remember what happened.
When the massive bright energy directly collided with the kneeling tribesman there was a booming effect as the energy mass reflected off of him shooting in the air directly above.
The crowd that surround the two also seem to have been blasted back, alot of them unmoving and some stagger to there feet, ears bleeding. The Elders still set on the raised stage unharmed, untouched.
"Blasphemy!" your hear the offensive tribesman say. He then runs up and kicks the knelt down tribesman hard. The victim still sets motionless.
You think to yourself "should i help him? If he keeps doing nothing surely they will kill him"
Grabbing a rock she finds on the forest floor she will throw it as far as she can into the forest in a direction other than back towards the village she just came from. Hunkering down she will wait to see if the tribe moves in to investigate.
"I hope they fall for it, I don't know what I'll do other wise..."
If they do more towards the sound of the rock she will dash towards him.
You take a nearby rock and hurl it hard. The "rock" you grabbed was more of a boulder and as it collides with a distant jungle tree there is a loud cracking noise. The Elders break there attention from the two being judged, the native that was praying now seems to have stood up from his trance and turns his attention toward the attacker. A few of the tribesmen go toward the disturbance however your plan hasnt worked to your liking, you think to yourself atleast they arent beating him to death anymore...
You suddenly notice giant eyes peering from a distant bush. What ever it is doesnt seem hostile.

Muttering under her breath at the big eyes she sees "Come on look at me, we need to help this guy."
Sumazura will try to gain its attention by making bird sounds before flagging it closer to her with her hands.

The hidden presence in the bush doesnt come forward but instead the large prowling eyes youve seen fade to the shadows. You hear a few shouts comming from the direction of the tribesmen, several them now approach your exact location swiftly. Two of the Elders point in your direction, the others still fixate on the match before them.
Discussing what to do next you and Ben dont even notice the elf that has approached from behind. "Hello" he says, startling the both of you before continueing "My name is Zephyre, im sorry to intrude but i may be of some help as to what is happening and what "that" is" he points at the medallion in Bens grasp and waits for a reply.
The elf stands about 5'11, he has two big daggers on either side of his richly made belt, the attire he wears itself looks similar to the below description
*OOC* Your character is unaware of the happenings several feet away as you and Ben have been completely distracted and occupied with each other.
"Well where to begin?" He seems to ask himself more than you. "I came to Ring City to find out what is killing everyone and why, and order of some sort your could say. I watched over the city a week or so in search of anything thats out of the ordinary, however in all that time nothing happened until I seen the elf that is laying on the floor dead nowsnooping around the back allys of the city. He has very powerful sway in Arkadia due to the fact that he is a master of chemistry and an illegals smuggler. I followed him a long time as he gathers materials from various sources. It would appear that he needs the medallion to fuse the materials.
Hes not lying, thats for sure. Its strange though, unlike most beings that youve encountered, this persons aura, no presence seems off. His wepons are unlike anything you have seen or read about, they dont even have elvish qualities. His speech is very well, with a definitive elfs accent. He looks toward Ben expecting more question but returns his gaze to you as Ben just shrugs his shoulders in a dissmissive manner
"My name is Zephyre, and im part of the royal guard at The Floating Isles. The part that isnt corrupt atleast." he says this looking down at the dead elf once more before becoming furiously passionate saying " "Some" random deaths have ended almost a thousand lives, well in a sense. The only guards in the city are all huddled around the inner rings, this tavern sets on the out skirts of the last ring of ring city, meaning that there isnt even walls to protect you from what creeps out of the forest at night! Besides even if there were guards its like you said, the situation would be far beyond there capabilities, not to mention the amount of corruption that backs who ever is behind this would destroy any further questions from authority figures of any kind." His voice has steadied and he doesnt seem intense anymore as he turns his attentions to the mechanoid almost within reaching distance of himself.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
“So we are either canon fodder, or you think that because we are some random scum off the street we will go overlooked by whoever is doing this. Either way the odds don’t look too good. The more you speak the higher the price is going.” Marun continues to watch this new figure carefully trying to figure out how much he can trust the strange elf.

I know you had mentioned something about 'illicit substances'...perhaps we could all benefit from this situation. For starters, you just said you have no interest in the reward, but I'm sure, (Thokk looks at the others while saying this next part), WE wouldn't mind a little extra coin in our pockets and you get your information...afterwards we all part ways. What do y'all say?".

Back Alley of "Lightning Toad"
*************************To everyone behind the tavern except Nawien for obvious reasons*******************************
All of a sudden there is a playful chuckle from the roof across the lightning toad, the laugh seems to fall from above getting closer. From above an elf drops toward the cobble stone right beside the the now pale elf lying on the ground. He seemingly lands hard yet your suprised when not even the slightest noise is made. He stands about 5'11, he has two big daggers on either side of his richly made belt, the attire he wears itself looks similar to the below description
TheWise
Marun jumped a little as the elf landed on the ground and he grabbed out his axe. Taking a defensive stance he heard what he had to say while watching the reaction of the others. Money was always good. He would need that if he was to regain any sort of position to challenge his former captain. This person obviously had influence as well. Maybe this was the opportunity that he eluded him so far. "I've seen enough danger to know that it finds you whether you look for it or not. I would rather be the one swinging the axe than dodging the blade. But as you suggest, aid is not free. My life is worth quite a shiny sum."

This elf was of high nobility and humans and elves have never got along too well. I can take care of that situation however, if anyone is interested in stopping all of the sudden, staggering amounts of deaths all around Arkadia then speak now." Thokk thinks to himself, "Well, well, well...my night has gone from being dull to interesting to utterly insane. Oh...he knows the robot...greaaaat. Why would I want to be a part of 'stopping the staggering amounts of deaths'? Oh...is he looking at me?" The New-Elf says, "And if it's money you're after, there will be plenty if the tasks are complete.

Cyst followed the whole murder scene with stupor and remained silent for the whole time, maybe still a little because of the drinks he had.
He then looks at the warforged and then at the newcomer:
Same operation? What the...
and then addressed to the elf, Cyst is interested in stopping the deaths , especially if there is a great retribution
Everybody would be interested in stopping the deaths, who wouldn't?!.. unless you are an healthy undertaker.
But in the end, who are you and what the heck is going on here?!
* ooc * everyone please be patient i will address everyone in the alley today, now that mostly everyone has reacted to the post. I also have few other characters to get to that havnt been gotten to in couple dayz
