Laaz the bartender/owners walks up at the perfect time to hear the end of Mazes' request. "It ssseems William is out of commotion for a few dayssss. He got pretty shhhhook up from the days eventsssss and drunk himself under the table. Dont worrrrrry though, thiss happens everytime he witnesses someone getting brutally hurt or killed. "
"Thokk, I'm sorry for all the interruptionssss. . . I will give you a few days of free bed a d booze for conssssolidation."
Looking at the new girl in the group Laaz says questionably, "so you are the lllllasst minute bard Romero sent? I will pay you depending on how well you entertain the crowd."
He then returns his gaze to Maze "I have never seen the crowd ssssso riled up by an entertainer, if you ever want a job performing once a night then let me know" "sssssssss" he hisses in an oddly attractive sounding way then fills the container of ale.
"Mhm" and a roll of the eyes is the only answer Maze gives to Laaz proposition.
Sitting in silence in the middle of it, Maze listens to everything people have to say, well "hear" would be a better choice of word. Indeed, all she understands is that Gia is gone for two days, leaving her right after a quite unsettling experience... The bard that was supposed to gather her stuff from the performance has vanished to cry his eyeballs out... Now, she has simply asked for a bath and not only isn't she given one, people are jabbering nonsense around her with a complete lack of consideration for her own desires! So, she does the only thing that comes into her mind. She stands up, letting out a loud roar and throws her chair violently at the wall, making it explode on impact. Then, panting, she yells "Can't a princess be treated as such!"
After this burst of frustration, Maze feels herself getting dizzy. She feels that she's losing control, again... She then falls on her knees, darkness filling her peripheral vision. With a tear in the eye, she just wishes that this time, she'll simply faint...
"Can I not be paired with her?" Sarcastic remark dropped flat as yet another royalty (the amount of aristocracy per square foot of a lowest class tavern continued to grow) did not express a slightest wish to use that one-in-life-time opportunity but instead demonstrated all the signs of a truly royal "rage in desperation" and though did not faint afterwords, did not look so good either.
"Is there any healer among us?" Nawien looked at Zephire, who apparently knew everyone.
Still idly twirling a dagger on one fingertip as she watched the scene unfold, the 'bard' sighed with regret and reminded herself never to pretend to be royalty. It was probably all right for an orc--with little tribes and clans on every other mountain, there were probably zillions of orc princesses floating around. Human royalty was more identifiable. Probably not as hard to pretend to be a human princess as an elf princess, though.
Now a Duchess or a Countess or something...maybe someday. She started pondering possible names and tragic back stories.

The Baroness Rowenia Di Plomphery Del Meringue. That would be the name, she decided. And she would be escaping from a peasant uprising in her country. No, that would be no good, it would mean that the commoners hated her. Searching for the peasant farmer she had secretly married, and who her evil family had sold into slavery? No, the snobby-nobs would despise her taste in husbands. Okay, hunting the evil wizard who had turned her entire family into chickens...and served them to his minions as pot pies? That was a good one--nobody sympathized with cannibal polymorphism. Chickens were a bit silly, though, maybe deer or rabbits or pheasants. Told right, that story could probably bring an entire tavern to tears. And bring in all the free drinks and financial support that a bereft noblewoman on a quest for rightful vengeance could possibly require.
Oh. Wait a minute. She was sure she could equip herself with the appropriate wardrobe and accoutrements of nobility, but a truly convincing persona, one which could not be legitimately questioned by a suspicious, interfering, self-righteous busybody or a small-minded, small-town judge, required a certain amount of paperwork. The sort of paperwork which required the most skilled and expensive forgers. Forgers who Layla Patayla, wandering banjo-less bard, could by no means afford. Nor could Trillia Lethwaite, shipwrecked ex-first mate of the sunken Mobius. And Ratfoot the Blade, back-street juggler and professional provider of convenient distractions for unlawful enterprises, most definitely not.
Now that she thought about it...hadn't someone just offered her a chance to earn untold riches? What if the elf was serious about that?
What could she lose by trying?
"Okay, I've thought about it," she says. "Deal me in."

Thokk - Once inside of his room he makes sure to lock the door and even goes so far as to put a chair in front of the door under the doorknob. He then sits on the bed and takes all of his gear out of his pack and rearranges it so that any gold that he has will not be so easy to obtain he makes sure to keep the 25 gp that he promised Laaz as the other half of the bargain and while the food and drink were good there were several interruptions throughout the evening, but he did make up for it by giving him a free room...he decides to add 10 gp to the pile and decides to give to Laaz in the morning after he has had a good sleep as it has been a trying day.
It seemed nobody in the group planned to take care of raging orc princess. On the other hand, it looked like barmen knew perfectly well what to do and could handle the situation. Feeling the darkness fill her, Maze put her face in her hands and wait, resigned. She doesn't have enough strength left to fight it with rage, so she simply takes large breath and try to calm herself, while expecting the worst...
When Maze open her eyes, everything is calm, everything is quiet. Most importantly, there's no blood around and she isn't naked! Taking this as a win, she smile and stands up. Looking around, she sees that she's all alone, that no one came to her nor cared enough if only to ask if she was alright... wiping a tear away with her finger she thinks, "looks like I will have to get used not to be the center of attention anymore. I really am alone now..." Then, taking care not to disturb anybody, she silently walks upstairs and head for her bed. Simply falling on the mattress her last thought is "Enough for a day, need to sleep..."
The gale-driven rain strikes hard, stinging and blinding, and the deck is slippery with rain and the blood of the fallen. Snoggin, the ship's gnome carpenter, slumps against the mainmaist, pinned in place by a long, steely arrow through her chest. The arrows of Raninon Nevermiss, the Grey Elf, still hiss through the air and pick off sailors, even though the pirate ship Octophoon is retreating rapidly: the enormous sea beast they had summoned doesn't seem to care which of the ships it attacks, and Captain Saloosh is not fool enough to stay and argue with it.
The Mobius jolts as the monster rams it again. First mate Trillia Lethwaite nearly loses her footing, but continues to bark orders, trying to get the passengers and crew aboard the lifeboats. The first boat is being lowered already, and Trillia sees that the captain is aboard it--the filthy bilge rat. A storm wave breaks across the deck, a mast snaps off and falls in a tangle of rigging and torn sails, the dwarf children are screaming in terror, and that idiot stubborn druid is refusing to board the lifeboat without his potted plants. Trillia turns to order Ogg, the orc guardsman, to pick the druid up and carry him aboard when the monster strikes the ship again, cracking Trillia's world in half and sending her plunging down into the dark, cold depths.
She comes up gasping for air, flailing at the blankets around her, and sits panting while she slowly remembers how she ended up in an inn room.
"It's for nights like this that they invented breakfast in bed," she finally says, pulling the bottle of rum from under her pillow and taking a generous swig from the bottle. She had spent far too long as Trillia Lethwaite, and now Trillia is haunting her. Why hadn't she jumped ship at the first safe port and changed her name again, the way she had originally planned? Was it because she had lost her nerve and was looking for a safe place? Was it because the crew made her feel like she belonged to a gang again? Was it just stubborn curiosity to see how far she could get on a set of forged credentials, a captain who didn't check references, and some friendly lessons on yelling orders? She had managed to get promoted to first mate without knowing what she was doing, and she had believed it possible to make captain. Now, thanks to the experimental summoning rituals of an incompetent pirate queen, she would never know.
Well, that life was gone, sunk to the bottom of the sea, and now she is Layla Patayla, a bard who no more knows how to play music than First Mate Trillia Lethwaite had known how to sail a ship. In a few days, 'Layla' will probably feel like home. If not, she will try out being Baroness What's-her-face.
Meanwhile, she would say goodbye to her old life. She supposes she should start by having a drink in honor of each of her lost shipmates.
"This one's for you, my cabinmate Slithizz," she says. "You found yourself at sea serving under an officer who knew nothing, and instead of turning me in, you tried to teach me how to sail, and failing that, you taught me to fake it. I'll miss your unflappable personality, your weird lizard eyes, and your bongo playing. But not your raw fish breath."
She takes a pull on the bottle, corks it, puts it in her pocket, and goes downstairs to see if anyone else is up yet.

If yesterday is of any sign of the future to come it should be interesting." He then walks back down stairs and says, "Laaz! Where are you? I am a being of my word and you may have the rest of your payment for last nights meeting."
Walking down the stairs you notice the Elf Zephyre from last night's meeting. He stands propped against the wall and as you approach he turns to face you, seemingly waiting for you to wake up.
"I hope you don't get offended but I entered your counciens while you slept, I've done this with everyone from the meeting in Hope's of understanding everyone even more. You've had a pretty interesting life haven't you? He continues talking without waiting for an answer as though he already knew what the outcome would be.
"If you are to help in our quest, I will need to know what exactly you are capable of. Do you know any bardly skills, or pirate skills? I just don't know where to start, what I might be able to teach you, or who to even place you with depending on what skills you do posses. You can definitely deceive and distract better than most, and you are quite charming with you words, not to mention fairly attractive. What I'm getting at is that you have the potential to be many things and be very good at them. So what would a goal be of yours to achieve throughout your life? Maybe I can help you achieve them with the correct guidance."

I'll miss your unflappable personality, your weird lizard eyes, and your bongo playing. But not your raw fish breath."
She takes a pull on the bottle, corks it, puts it in her pocket, and goes downstairs to see if anyone else is up yet.

To your surprise you are the first individual to wake, except for the warforged that sets motionless in the same position he entered restmode. As you call out for Laaz and turn the corner of the corridor you are greeted with an energetic lizardfolk smile.
"Thanksssss mate, this'll help with some of the repairs from lasssst nights endeavoursss."
He glances at the coins and there weight before excitedly saying "Ahh now that's good for businessss, if I keep having nights like lassst night then I'll be able to upgrade the place a bit. I will get the cooks to make a special breakfast for everyone in good favor of the adventure to come. "
He walks off hurriedly behind the doorway that's shrouded with a black linen behind the bar.
