The halfing smiles in return to Edeleth's comment. "I'll make sures I do! I think culture is fine and all, but I'd rather be out with the trees and the plants. I tries to not stay in towns too long except to pick ups some work and supplies. I did gets surprised when I sees the place up and moving. Can't say I sees that before." The halfling turns away from the bar and plops down on the stool top facing the two playing the game.
"Name's Roscoe. I've seen druids out in the wilds, but I don't have all their fancy magics. I just let this do the work for me when I needs it." Roscoe pats the hilt of the battleaxe strapped across his back. The weapon has definitely some wear and tear over the years, but it's been fashioned so that the halfling can wield it. "If I sees any groves, I'll make a note and tell yas all about it. Sometimes, I feel like they call to me. Could just be the birds though." Roscoe gives a light chuckle.
"Good to meet you, Roscoe," says Edeleth. "Perhaps when my work in the city is finished, we could travel together, and you could show me your wilderness."

Roscoe smiles a little at the thought of little pockets of wilderness within the city. "I see." The halfling swirls around on the stool and stands back up toward the bar. He waves his now empty glass toward the barkeep with a toothy grin. "All done. More, please." Roscoe watches over the tavern with the funny name as he attempts to settle into the new town. Suddenly Rosri clutches his mouth, gags, and hurries toward the privies.
Edeleth sighs and looks at the chessboard. If the halfling robbed people as well as he played dragonchess, he would spend most of his life in jail. Still, Edeleth had to admit, if there had been somebody with trap training to help him break into that Dream Circle grove down on the coast, where they had refused to allow a Land druid entry, he would not have had to go on the run through bandit-ridden forests.

Peshley came out of the library, her mind-boggling over the spells she had learnt and the new possibilities she had available. Just simply learning about using glyphs to store spells for future use blew her mind. Excited by this she immediately went to work testing it out. Taking her belt she added a magical glyph imbued with Feather Fall. the last thing she wanted was to be knocked unconscious and fall off something, unable to save herself. Climbing to a high ledge she jumped, and just as she hoped, it triggered as soon as she had fallen 10 feet. Peshley reset the glyph and considered her other options.
She next took her staff, something she always had on hand, and looked at it carefully. What can I do to you? Thinking back to the Chicken Tavern, and trying to chase after something that quick again, she realised that she needed something to be able to use at range. Magic Missles. That will do. But I don't want to set it off by accident. Peshley added the appropriate glyph and considered the trigger. This one had to be more active than simply falling. She had to actually choose to use this. Finally, she came up with the idea of pointing the staff at her target and saying the words 'Fire now.' Fire on its own was too risky. That could come up in conversation without her thinking, but 'fire now'? Less likely.
Peshley sat back and admired her work. The other things she thought about was finally finding a familiar. She knew she should have done it by now, but nothing had drawn her yet. However, sitting in her room in the new Hanging Chicken Inn gave her a fresh perspective. Watching the birds wheeling about beneath her she finally knew what she had to summon. As the sun set, Peshley sat cross-legged on the back porch overlooking the void. She reached out with her mind, summoning the winds and drawing to her a young hawk. When the hawk lifted its wings to fly, a brilliant blue plumage was revealed and which gave the appearance of glowing as it flew.
Grunda pulls herself up the rope and to safety. "Hello little one," she says in her melodic voice, "It appears I owe you quite a debt."
OOC: I know this is out of order with my other posts, but won't change overall story.
"That was...I don't know how I did that, but, Woah"Peshely stood gasping for breath as the adrenalin drained from her and she realised what she had just done. "I need to...Man I gotta eat. You know I would love to chat with you some more. I never really had a chance to talk to a Goliath before. Come find me at the tavern later. Ask for Peshley." Peshley carefully makes her way to the door and climbs across to the neighbouring window on the newly secured Inn.
