OOC: In preparation for the upcoming encounter, here are my first round actions. I am not going to be free at the same time due to a meeting tonight so I thought I would preemptively post it, particularly with such a high initiative, I don't want people to be having to wait for me to get things started.
Peshley shrieks a little at the sight of the large Alpha spring forward. She immediately raises her staff and shouts “Fire Now!” as she points the wand toward the large beast. As she does so it triggers the spell stored there to burst forth, sending three glowing darts streaking toward the hyena. She then moves back away from the entrance, trying to put some distance between her and the creatures.
Cast Magic Missile using the glyph of storing on her wand.
Once again, I am dividing combat into "init' groups":
PCs who get to act before enemies/enemies/PCs who get to act after the enemies.
Uther, how about this: You may decide to have used Thunderclap or not. If you did, no friendly fire. No one got hurt, and it looked very cool. Also, you may roll an INTIMIDATION Check DC20, with advantage prior to the start of combat to keep the Hyenas at bay.
Then after that, Peshley and Laeivis will take their turn
Old violent habits die hard. Laievis, already prepared to fire, shook his head, put down the weapon and quietly prayed to Meryn.
If not interrupted, he will try to cast in quick succession: Sanctuary on self - Bless (1st lvl) on Uthar, Peshley and self again, - and Enhance Ability/Bull's strength on Uthar.
Laievis You will have to do one turn at a time
Sure, but this are the things he will try to do. (In case of sudden emergency and my inability to post in time)
Actually, correction: Mage hand and Sanctuary should fit into one turn, right? (Cantrip and bonus action) Then Laievis would try to do both - Mage hand to grab some bonfire coals and burning pieces of wood to trow it in front of the cave.
Peshley unleashes a burst of magic missiles that slams into the Giant Hyena as it charges. It growls in pain, and staggers a bit.
Laeivis holds his hand out, and a spectral hand appears, lifting a small bundle of fiery wood from the campfire, and drops it right in front of the cave entrance, while at the same time casting sanctuary, blocking off the cave entrance.
The Hyenas spring forward, but stop right in front of the fire, and start to whine and growl, cowaring from it as if looking for a way around...they are unable to attack this round....
Now Saerirra, Cade and Uther may take their turn. Uther, since you rolled a good attack earlier, and the Hyenas are now only 10 feet away from you, you may keep that action/attack roll/damage (I hate to waste a good roll...). I will describe it all as soon as Saerrira and Cade take their actions.
Cade - Going towards the entrance of the cave (about 15 ft away from the entrance) sees the flames that have blocked the entrance with Uther behind them and what appears to be hyenas in front of them. He looks back towards Baron and says, "Baron to me!". He will then look at Laeivis and say, "Laeivis...make your aim be true and aim for the big one!". Still having his sling loaded with a ball bearing will bring it up just in case.
Movement: 10 ft away from tent to the campfire. (guesstimating)
Bonus Action: Bardic Inspiration for Laeivis
Action: Held for a later turn.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Thokk / Level 1 / Half-Orc / Rogue - The Legends of Ring City
Saerirra would look at the small wall of fire between us and the hyenas, a bit of a grin coming on her face.
"How about we have the big brute do our work for us?"
Main Action: Cast Crown of Madness, Giant Hyena must make a Wisdom save throw DC 14 If it fails, it is charmed by me, and it must make a melee attack against anything I choose BEFORE it moves. Naturally not picking any allies. It can act normally if there are no targets in range. It can reroll the Wisdom save throw at the end of each of its turns.
Movement: Not too much, just enough to get to Taranonn, and the small pony if it's close to Taranonn, and just give them a reassuring pat.
Laeivis holds the Hyenas away from the cave with the mini firewall, and the Sanctuary spell. But the Giant Hyena pounces on Uther, who was standing outside the cave, and bites him for 6 piercing damage, sinking its teeth into his torso...but as the Beast is holding him in its mouth, Uther unleashes a mighty swing of his axe on it, and slashes its back, causing it to howl. The axe left a sizeable gash on the Beast's back, but it is still fighting...
Laeivis gets 1d6 bardic inspiration from Cade, who moves back into the cave.
The Giant Hyena rolls a 7 on its Wisdom SAVING THROW!
As it is yanking Uther around in its mouth, it stops, and a magical Jagged Crown appears on its head. It lets go of Uther, tilts its head sideways, looks at one of its nearby "underlings", and growls, displaying a distorted grin on its face, like a glimpse of madness...
Finally, Peshley gains 1d6 bardic inspiration from Saerirra.
Double bardic inspiration! The DM shares his favorite Fantasy Soundtrack of all times
