Varis creeps back, wide eyed and describes whatever the hell those things are to the rest of the group as quietly as possible, and suggests running very fast in the other direction.

Back and ready to DM and chew bubblegum. And I'm alllll outta bubblegum.
Endurance also thought the same about Yuldra going to them to say hello, so yeah same wavelength ish. And then will run after Varis. But it isn't really possible to do so quietly in heavy armour and no dex modifier
It's been 4 days so I assume everyone leaves the city. You leave the city and notice the infected begin to come out of the buildings. There are maggot guts around their lips. Looks like you know what the maggots where for.
You find yourself standing outside the city. What now?
Varis gets the map out. Ok...ok....ok. If we move up north, there's another town that already says "ruins"...maybe this had the opposite effect on that and made it better. But just north of that over the mountains is a shrine to Bahamut...and maybe he didn't let it fall into disrepair?

"Or maybe he's now a maggot eating mushroom with wings that breaths fire. Or soup. I hate soup. Still, can't be any worse than here. Seems odd, a harbour town and not one single ship..."
You all start heading north across the scrublands. All the tall grass here appear to be dead but not infected. This seemed like a good sign until you come to a large pit with strange plants. Unlike other infected plants, these large shrubs look like they were born from a combination of the fungi, moss and algae without any host. The plants are fungus shaped and covered in green moss. Algal vines wrap round it to provide even more stability. Finally at the base of each of these plants are 4 leaf-like spikes. The top bears a strange large flower that is a sickly green and purple. The flowers emit a purple glow.
Yuldra, how loudly did you say that?
I think Endurance and Yuldra are in tune now, on the same wavelength, she probably just thought it.....

I don't buy that unfortunately. You could have just thought it though.
So Varis, what do you do?

What does the party do?
Yuldra will heed varis' advice. But quietly if possible

Shrine sounds fine to me.

To the shrine then! Yuldra will lead just in case there is soup.

So what are you guys doing about the pit?
Any way to get around it?

I mean you can take the long way and go around it but it will take a few extra hours.
Well...shall we take the long way, or shall we brave the spiky, glowy plant things?

"The plant looks pretty flammable. I can probably hit it from here if I light an arrow...."
