Instead of speaking, he waits and listens carefully to the interchange, trying to assess if the monkeys are really wanting to be helpful or are merely luring them to a convenient place to attack...

"Son of a biscuit!" Finally able to clamber up from the ravine, Shae shouts in agony as claws slice through her shoulder. She scrambles to get up, trying to take a position to defend or be between a monkey and those affected by the scream. "Freaking Mondays..." she'd mutter to herself, trying to spot the leader monkey. She'd shout in what she believes is her monkey speech, "What did we do to offend you!?"
(Wow, seemed to have missed a lot... DEX check - 20, WIS save - 22, Initiative - 16)
Zip skips across the log with ease, "Like jumping roofs back home," he mutters with a chuckle.
The Monkey screeches immediately trigger a reaction. Zip reaches into his pocket and draws a trio of smooth stones collected from the jungle floor. Swinging his crossbow about, he drops one into the firing groove normally reserved for bolts, "Hunting time, kiddos!"
(First initiative round, he will use Magic Stone and fire off the first shot. Holding rolls until turn comes up)

Okay Zip and the Captain get to act before the monsters. After them, it's Shae, Maxine, Brax, Professor and Faekin, Nhar, Berrus, and lastly Falx. Cliff and Bertrand will take their turns at the same time as the professor. They are commoners, stats wise. As for the combat, I'll wait for Zip's actions, and then fill in those of the captain and the monsters.

Zip turns around and immediately fires off one of his stones with his special crossbow, hitting the leader of the pack straight between the eyes. The hit causes blood to trickle down across the leader's face, but otherwise the monster doesn't seem too perturbed for now.
The captain runs across the tree
(Acrobatics 8)
and using her momentum tries to stab the leader, currently flanked by Shae. Through the speed and surprise of the captain's move, she hopes to land a sneak attack
(18 to hit, for 12)
on the leader. Becoming slightly unbalanced on the log however, she misses the creature.
Disappointed by the result of their ambush, one of the monkeys launches at the stunned Flax, a wild flurry of claws and fangs
(two attacks, one with claws and one with fangs, both have advantage: 16 and 17 to hit, for 4 and 9 damage respectively)
Flax is caught in the throat by one of the monkey's bite attack, and although unconscious on the ground, is mauled by the creature's claws. A second monkey dashes forward and starts to bite the unconscious Nhar, also going straight for the exposed flesh on his face
(both rolls with advantage, automatic critical if they hit since Nhar is unconscious: 14 and 14 to hit, for 3 and 6 damage).
Without any mercy, the creatures bites down onto Nhar's exposed throat, tearing into his jugular and ripping out his windpipe. Within seconds, the poor guy is lying lifelessly on the ground.
Two of the remaining monkeys take the opportunity to screech again, and both Maxine and Faekin are wracked with a pain seemingly eminating from inside their minds.
I need both of you to succeed on a DC 11 WIS save, or suffer 14 psychic damage and be stunned.
The leader meanwhile, seeing itself cornered by Shae and the Captain tries to slash at Shae with its claws, trying to find any opening it can get. At the same time it communicates to Shae: "You don't offend. But your meat is just so delicious… I couldn't hold my brethren back! I'm looking forward to snacking on you!"
(attack 15 and 23 for 8 and 6 slashing damage).
Taken aback by the creature's appetite and evil intent, the first claw strike connects, rending the flesh on her arms. Quickly gathering her wits, she blocks the second attack however.
The last monkey on the floating disc leaps back from Faekin, clearly capable of defending himself, and covers the twenty feet to reach the Professor, trying to bite his legs
(15 and 20 for 5 and 6 piercing damage).
The Professor manages to avoid the first of the bites, but because of the uneven jungle ground is caught flat-footed for the second bite. The creature's teeth sink deeply into his left calf muscle.

Also, thanks Professor, here's a map to help you visualise things. Shae, Maxine and the captain are on the North end of the ravine, the rest of the party towards the southern end. Four of the creatures are south, two north of the ravine.

As Berrus starts charging one of the creatures, he hears an even more ferocious roar, as Brax, despite his broken leg, flies into a rage, and grabbing the shield off the floating disc, uses it to smash into the creature at the back of the column, hacking at it with his axe as he spins in a ferocious swirl.

His attacks cut deep into the shoulder and neck muscles of the monkey clawing at Flax.

Bertrand, eyes wide with shock at the sudden onslaught, fulfills his duty to protect the Professor by gripping his sturdy walking stick and moving up behind the monkey attacking Snively. He aims a viscous two-handed swipe at the feral creature!

Cliff fears for his life, but in the midst of the melee, he sees the monkey on top of Flax, attacking his defenseless form. Raging against unfairness of it all, Cliff recalls the bullies he has made back down in his life, and vows to do the same for Flax. Grabbing his cudgel, he moves over to the monkey and swings at it as hard as he can!

Feeling a searing pain in his leg, he draws his dagger and turns to flank the monkey with Bertrand.

Bertrand trips up on the roots on the ground and falls flat on his face. Cliff however, feeling the righteous anger of years of bullying swell up in him strikes the monkey square on its head, just moments after it has been hacked at by Brax.
The Professor himself summons the powers of elemental air, and sees the monkey in front of him confused at suddenly being lifted into the air.

Not knowing what happens, the creature is pushed into the the ravine. Clawing at thin air, the creature plummets twenty to thirty feet below, being swallowed up in the fast moving current of the jungle stream.
15 falling damage, plus 6 bludgeoning damage from being thrown against rocks in the stream.
