Kaylyn continues to attack the bugbear focusing her hex on him unless he is killed, then she will shift to the most injured rat and move the hex onto it.

Combat Summary:

Royan and the fiery-skulled Skeleton continue to duel, sword versus shovel, the flimsy but flexible flaming corpse matched with the skilled and shielded barbarian. Then a final shot of flame from Kastix burns through the 3rd cervical vertebra, and the creature collapses into a pile of bones, the shovel sticking vertically out of the stack.

The shrieking bugbear finally drops its hand from its face, to reveal one missing melted eye and drooping facial skin from the last attack. He manages to fend off Ireniana's sword swings as he turns to flee, crying to his hounds to cover his retreat. They surround Ireniana and harrass her with their gnashing teeth, with one managing to take a small bite from her exposed ankle.

Ireniana's determination to slay the bugbear suddenly vanishes as she feels an intense urge to avenge herself on the rat that just bit her. With a yell of rage, Ireniana slashes violently at the giant rodent, exerting herself until the beast lays in a bloody pulp at her feet. Her vengeance satisfied, Ireniana gapes at the body, wondering "what was I thinking?"

As the bugbear disappears stumbling back down the tunnel it came from, Kaylyn hurls her final blast of eldritch power at the remaining rat, which rolls across the floor and lies motionless, smoking slightly.

The heavily-wounded bugbear has fled into the tunnel. All other enemies are dead.

Erky: I will allow you to confirm whether to still use the Bag of Tricks and the Cure Wounds, before declaring any further actions.

"Told you everything here is going to try and kill us," Kastix stated as he will fire bolt the corpse to burn them just in case, "Especially undead things. Born from Nercomancy," Kastic will pick up a skeleton's skull and show it to party to emphasis his point. 

Ireniana spits in the bugbear's direction and says. "Coward." She puts her swords away and examines the room for any more threats.

“Ohh noooo!!! My Whip!! Ugh!!” Says Rhayna frustrated. She calms herself down and starts to record the room and what just transpired in her Journal.

"You are certainly right, young man, about dangers here and Necromancy in general. But I have to say, those bones looked quite innocent. Which, probably mean, my inexperience on the matter is bigger, than I would be willing to admit"

Erky moved close to Kastix, looked at him a top of his broken pince-nez, "tsk-ed" a couple of times and said a short prayer to Oghma (that Cure wounds, for 9, please).

"I think I made a grievous mistake by travelling without one of our fury companion. Allow me to rectify it" he put his hand inside the bag and threw the fur-boll on the ground. 1 

Giant weasel did not thrilled him but Erky accepted it as a sign of faith. "I guess we are stuck with that animal. Let's get the best of it then."

“He will be back soon with others. We should stop him.” Royan starts after the Bugbear and Trades his sword for a javelin. Royan will stop just inside (10ft) the tunnel. 

The tunnel leads into a small rough cavern, the floor of which is stained and smells of blood and animal musk. Light from glowing fungus reveals the eastern niche, which holds a pallet of matted furs, a wide wooden board on which a variety of weapons are affixed, and a great cloak of patchy black fur hung on a slender pole. To the edge of the niche are two large nests made of hair, dry fungus, and refuse. The tunnel continues out of the cavern on the northern side.

@Erky: Let's stick with Giant Weasel. That was the original roll after the Jackal died, back in post #936

"Let's send the weasel first," Kastix says peeking in. 

Erky nodded, patted innocent animal on the head, sighed and said the needed words: "Go, boy, sniff the cave."

Ireniana nodded and motioned the weasel to move forward.

The giant-sized weasel gallops into the cave. It is gone for about a minute before it gallops back again, standing at the mouth of the tunnel and looking at Erky.

"Either it means we can enter or he wants to show us something. Let's proceed with the caution." He showed example by slow careful following the animal.

Rhayna absently minded follows the group while taking notes of their location in her journal.

With the weasel leading the way, the party travels along the tunnel, which slopes steadily downward. A variety of tracks can be seen, including those of the bugbear, the giant rat and the giant weasel, as well as signs of the hunter's prey being dragged back to its lair, and the group deduces that the bugbear uses these tunnels to hunt for game deep underground, and probably knows them well. Fresh drops of blood can be seen on the ground for the first hundred yards, but they soon peter out. After a couple of minutes of travel, the tunnel splits into three forks, and the weasel walks in circles, sniffing the ground, until it stops again and looks at Erky, cocking its head sideways as if to seek further instructions. Recent tracks can be seen in all three tunnels, and all seem to lead further from the citadel and deeper into the darkness.

Erky set down to give his little legs some rest. "Where to now?"

”One moment.” Royan inspects the tracks trying to tell which we’re most recent and if any of them look like they were made by a someone moving in a hurry. 

Kaylyn follows along with the others as they make their way through the caverns.  when they reach the crossroad she stops and tries to listen to see if she could discern which way to go.

Perception 10

"Eeny, meeny, miny, moe," Kastix trials off as he pooints at route in turn. 

Ireniana will follow the others as well while keeping an eye out for any markings or ways that lead to another trail.
