The rhythmic booming coming from deeper within mountain continued as the party moved forward through the doorway under the mural. Dor leading the way with his shield and darkvision moves under the mural and into the darkness beyond. It's a straight cooridore with no side rooms and leads to stone steps going down. They start to curve down in a spiral and after several curves around, orbs giving off a soft light are embeded in the wall. Down the stairs go and louder does that thump, thump get. Finally, the stairs end and the area opens up.
From the bottom, you find yourself in a massive underground gave. The steps come out of one end of the cave and it stretches for several over 300 yards. Bubbling pits of acid pockmark the floor here tossing up a noxious order, irritating but not unbarable. Looking over at the far end you see two large bonfires flanking something. You also see a large mass of creatures standing in before the bonfires. They sway with the rhythmic thump of two large drums.
At the beginning of the 300 yards, Dor ducks low, angling his shield in a way that it would look flush with the floor. He tries to stop from moving into their sight but just in case he turns and whsipers:
If we fight, shove 'em in the pits and stay together. Don't stop moving forward once it begins.
The group slowly inches forward and it appears that all the attention of the kobolds is focused forward towards the bonfires. Like shadows the group moves closer running from rock to stalagmite trying to keep hidden while avoiding the acid pits. Eventually, they make it as close as they feel the can without drawing undue attention. For a another minute or so the drum beats continue increasing in tempo and intensity. The crowd of kobold's energy seem to increase. They are hooting and jumping and then suddenly the drums stop and the kobolds go silent. At the same time the bonfires flare and for the first time you see a that between the two bonfires and rising high into the cave is a massive skeleton of a dragon. It's neck stretching up high up into the air and mouth agape as if it was roaring.
From back between the fires comes a small hooded figure. He wears a plethera of bones upon his body. A vest of small bones across his chest, a deer or cow skull upon his head and a skinny jagged staff. He holds up his hands as he faces the crowd and they all drop to their knees in front of him. Raising his voice to the crowd he calls out in a high squeaky voice in a language that only Elisha can understand. "Brethren!!! The time has come. The Dark father spoke to me in dreams. Seek the the mountain he said and we finds it. Go to the cave he said and we digs and finds it. Search he said and we did." He then reaches to the ground behind him and with some effort he pulls up an ornate sword, that seemed to distort the light around it almost as if it was absorbing. As he raised it high there was a collective gasp from the Kobolds.
His strength nearly failing, he dropped the point to rest on the ground. With one hand holding the sword up he motioned to side. From there three unconcious Hobgoblins were brought in on rough animal skins. Turning to the side he stares up at the dragon skeleton before him and begins to chant with in a quiet yet ominous voice. It as it grew louder the skeleton began to grow as well. As the chanting reached a high point kobold took the sword, raised it high nearly falling and then dropped taking the head off of the first kobold and then did the same with the next two. When he finished his chant the skeleton shook and then rumbled and it's mouth opened wide. From the depts of its massive jaw came a waterfall of acid. It spilled out of it's mouth into a what must have been a pit below for it did not spread. Almost as soon as it had started, had it ended and the skeleton stopped quaking and remained just as still as it had been before. Holding the sword aloff in two hands he called out, "I assend and then we shall rise!"
Moving forward towards the pit he stops at the edge and stares at it for a mere moment. He then jumps in. Immediately after there is a blood curdling scream. A scream that one would expect if jumping into a pit of acid. It goes on for 5, 10, 15, nearly full minute before all is quiet. Another minute goes by and all remains silent, a tension in the air. Then another and nothing. Quiet whispers break out among the crowd and soon the whispers are no longer quiet. Another koblod walks up towards the pit and turns back towards the crowd. "It still, he dea."
Before the kobold could finish his words a claw breaks the surface of the pool and grips the edge. Then another, and a form starts to rise out of the pit. A humanoid creature, massive size, at least compared to a kobold, with dark glossy eyes, shining black scales and two massive horns jutting out from its head. It tosses it head to the sky and lets out a roar and thrusts a clawed hand into the air holding the sword high. Where it once was large and unwieldly for the small kobold. This new creature was tall with rippling muscles and held the sword firm and easily with one hand. At the roar the crowd of koblods erupted in cheers and giggles.
„I would s.suggest we hide and try to observe what is coming. If we leave we run into it, and going deeper inside wont yield us any information.“
"Hiding and observing it is." Dor confirms while preparing to hide himself.

Hiding behind his dull wooden shield, Nadariel carefully moves closer to the fire, to see what is going on there.

Elisha will look for a stalactite or stalagmite to hide behind

I gesture to everyone to get the f out of here.
Elisha will nod to Nadariel and follow him out of the cave.
