Cailee eagerly trailed behind Valyncia, feeling rejuvenated to be back in the forest (although it hadn't really been that long since she left). However, it wasn't long before that feeling dissipated, as the strange celestial ritual filled her with discomfort and confusion. She looked to Vallen, who had asked if Cailee and Valyncia knew the figure, and shook her head. "I've never seen this before. I can't understand what she's saying." She gripped her quarterstaff apprehensively; she didn't sense that aggression would help in this situation, but she also wanted to be prepared in case Valyncia or the strange figure instigated a fight. "Oh! The obelisk!" Cailee scanned the area, searching for the obelisk that she and Valyncia had uncovered when they met, wondering if this had anything to do with the weird event.
Vallen would look to Callie and nod, “What is the significance of the obelisk and this area?” He would then look back at the person and hyenas, still ready to charge in at any moment.

"Eight hyenas. We could probably take them, but that woman appears to be a wildcard."
Jubal eyed the figure from the interior of his illusory boulder. Her words came to him... was that Celestial? It suddenly clicked as he focused; he'd forgotten that he had just somehow acquired mastery of the language.
He listened intently, determined to uncover the secrets of her chanting.
"What? That sounds like... she's summoning something!"
Jubal kept an ear to the chant-song while trying to pay attention to the others as well. If whatever was buried here was in any way evil, he had to act!
Xinq reveals what he has discerned to the others, before casting his mind around for other thoughts - perchance he might detect the presence of any thinking, but as-yet unseen creatures.

Xinq's reveal sealed it.
"She's trying to summon her master," announced Jubal, now standing up straight as he dismissed his illusory boulder. "Or at least, that 's what it sounds like. Something about time, a deal being broken, and the path being clear, too."
Frowning, Jubal turned to look toward the still-chanting figure. "All things considered, we might not want to let this ritual continue until we know who it's going to bring forth."
The chanting figure seemed intent on continuing her ritual; she hadn't even acknowledged the others yet. "I think I have an idea; at the very least it might distract her long enough to stop this for now."
The bard fashioned words in his mind, set their volume, tone, and location in space as he gripped his flute. He then pointed two fingers toward the chanting figure.
Immediately a roar burst forth from thin air in front of the figure, the roar of a large, angry nobleman that Jubal was mimicking. "What are you doing?!" it yelled, the voice (deliberately) cracking and warbling a bit. Then, just slightly less perturbed, "Why are you attempting to summon me?"
Jubal casts Minor Illusion to generate the voice speaking to the chanting figure. As far as persuading her, it'll be either Deception or Performance, right?
You all hear the loud proclamation made from the disembodied voice demanding answers! It seems to be originating from nearby the figure before you but it's clear the voice is not their own.
The loud voice is quite startling to all those nearby and contrasts heavily with the near angelic chanting coming from the figure. The figure fails to respond seeming unaware of the world around them.
The figures dance, now more apparantly a woman in her early twenties dressed in dirt covered robes often worn by monks, quickens as her song gets louder. The Hyenas all converge on a single hole and dig with intensity. They're clearly not the best creatures to be using for this process. The dirt and grass is thrown aside revealing the red clay soil underneath.

This clay is what gives the Red Cliffs their name as most of the western Highlands has this type of soil until you get further into the forests. The density of the clay soil would normally cause problems growing crops in Thornwood. The farmers there were keenly aware of this issue. It is quite well known that Shamara blessed the land around Thornwood so that it would be able to easier grow the crops needed to feed the people of the region. It is with this blessing that Thornwood has done so well and had such large bountiful crops. These food troves are delivered across the region providing the people with fruits, vegetables, and meats from a wide variety of beasts. Without Shamara's blessing of the fields, the farming cities in the Lowlands would have to shoulder the burden for all of Koresica.

Xinq pries into the stranger's mind like separating the layers of an onion.
"Master must be freed from this burden. He aches while she takes what she wants. This was never the deal."

From what Cailee can tell, the gathering seems to be right near the exposed obelisk. You get the feeling that it is the reason they are here.

Jubal listens to the woman and hears her singing. The words are rather quick flowing but he's able to make out what is being sung.
Read if you understand Celestial:

We need you here,
The deal is broken
Your path is clear"

"Curious," Jubal remarked, a tinge of worry starting to enter his voice.
He looked around toward the others, wondering what to make of it all. Some seemed ready to attack, but like him, they were hesitant.
"Anyone have any other ideas?"
