Now beyond the window, thanks to her large lupine companion, Avia takes a good look around this new chamber.it is a large square room, 70 feet on a side.
Almost all of the remains of glass from the windows are on the on the inside of this room. Immediately next to her is the door that Kysdiane attempted to open. On this side of the door, instead of a bar, it's a flywheel.
In the center of the room is a large contraption with nine small (1-ft radius) domes. Three of them have some visible crystals looking like they had forced the domes open. Unfortunately, due to her vision being greyscale, working with only her darkvision, it is near-impossible what kind of crystals they may be. There are other machines scattered around the walls, but without an energy source, they may as well be graves of whatever process had occurred here. Many remains of parchment lay on top of what may have been wood at some point in time
In the southeast corner, she sees a small panel tucked away on the wall, its metal plate warped, rusty, and slightly ajar.
Kysdiane clicks his heels together and the sides of his boots sprout wings as he flies up to the window and flies straight through. Once on the other side, he mutters to Avia, "Got any light?"
Expending one minute of usage from his Winged Boots.

Avia takes out her torch. She then takes out her tinderbox and uses that to light it. She also can use magical tinkering on it to make it a little brighter. Does she see anything else? Does she recognize the crystals?
Lia waits for the door to be opened as well. "Should I bring these crystals with do you think?" She calls, as she starts to put the crystals from the chest into her backpack. "Guess it won't hurt..." She says to herself as she stuffs the last into her pack and then moves to see if the others are havign any luck with the door.
Now on the other side of the door Kysdiane looks to try and find a way to open it. He sees a large, flywheel-like handle (pretty sure I mentioned it here).
As Kysdiane and Avia investigate the other room, Lia and Gulgus agree to take the crystals with them to see if they would be of any use in the near future.

Avia walks into the room, holding her torch and inspects to see if she can find any pieces that haven't deteriorated. She also checks to see what the crystal types are.
After lighting a torch, Avia does a more thorough inspection of the room.
Looking though the scraps of paper, she is able to see various notes how certain heats and pressures can affect the quality of crystal growth. A few even detail on a then newly-developed crystal that has the potential for possible inter-planar travel. A final one is regarding which growth chambers were active, including a diagram. The diagram lines up with the domes where the three crystals are emerging from. Is the last one still in its chamber?
She then examines the crystals emerging from underneath the opened domes. The crystals seem to be a sort of white, vaguely iridescent variety of corundum. They seem to be the same kind of crystal found in the machines in the chamber one floor up. They don't seem to be growing from the machine itself, but on a platform on top of it and under the dome.

Kysdiane steps up to the flywheel and attempts to turn the wheel so as to open the door for the rest of the group. Before beginning to turn, he calls upon a bit of his infernal power. If it doesn't budge, he calls out to the rest of the party to try pushing at the same time.
Kysdiane gets a good hold of the flywheel and finds it much easier to operate due to an unexpecte burst of strength that made it seem as if the rust was not present at all. A few turns of the handle go by very quickly before the limits of its mechanism are felt and he opens the door which lets out a loud, metallic groan.
Entering the door, Renata's attention turns to the crystals in the room that are emerging from the opened domes. She diligently makes note of their color, size and shape, and asks the party, "they seem to be growing crystals in this room, perhaps a growth chamber? There were supposed to be nine," she counts the number of domes using the torch that Avia has lit, "but only three of them had grown." She walks to the cornor with the small panel and tries to open it.
Kysdiane opens the door for the remaining members of the expedition and they all hurry inside. In an effort to make sure that nothing will surprise them as they search the room, Gulgus closes the door.
Renata takes a look around, noting the growing crystals before opening the panel. Inside there are three empty slots, a small lever and, a gauge that ranges from 0 to 100.
Avia looks to the other side, checking what's there.
