Kale... When you were using prestadigitation to mark buildings, the marks you left seemed to ripple slightly, as if something was moving inside of them, trying to get out.

Whitegaze will stand ready, no weapon in hand, but doing his best to convey his readiness for violence. He will move to stand behind and to one sde of Thursday, acting as if he was hired muscle, eyes wary for threats.
"Huh. Al-Ashari, Soveliss, what did you make of that?" Kale points at one of the marks he'd left on a building. "Is using arcane magic weaking the distance between those planes you mentioned before, or is that just a visual effect? I don't much like the idea of anything popping out at us from them."
As they enter the ruined courtyard, Kale will make his way to the well to read the plaque, picking up one of the smaller broken stones from the ground as he steps carefully through the rubble. He keeps an eye on the people milling about the edges, wary of anyone trying to approach.

"Would you mind if I look at the book? I have a feeling, the cards intended it for Kale and ... Thursday, but I am curious to look at it." Al-Ashari smiled to Soveliss. "I will return it to you right away."
"That would be most unfortunate" agreed Al-Ashari studying the mark. "Let's see who is it there. If anyone"

There are 11 homeless currently here.
At the well...
The amber plaque has been etched in celestial with the words “Throw a coin. Make a wish.” A message has been scrawled faintly in thieves’ cant onto the stone of the well, reading “three coins, one copper, one silver, one gold. ask for nothing you cannot afford to lose.”

"Of course, here." Thursday pulls out the book and reluctantly hands it over to Al.
Thursday walks by each homeless person and hand them each 10 gold pieces. "Remember us please. I hope this can feed you for a while. The Da-- er uh I'm a woman of the people, Thursday's the name. Bless you all. Better times will come."
Thursday starts scanning the area for any peering eyes or anything particularly out of the ordinary in this out of the ordinary land.
Perception: 21
With Whitegaze standing behind her, she looks back. "Ah, some muscle. You keep acting like that we'll get along quite alright."
Thursday reads the cant. Checks her pockets for silver and copper. Finding none... she asks one of the homeless. "I will trade 2 gold for a silver and a copper. If ya have it."
Kale squints his eyes at the kant and nods, but he can't make heads or tails of what's written on the plaque. "Does anyone here read this script?" he asks, turning to the others.
As you try to interact with the homeless you find..
The folk assembled here do little but mill about, and they’ve lost their ability to effectively communicate somehow. They just stare at you and the coins you try to hand out just remain in your hand, they do not take them.

Al-Ashari will try to speak with homeless telepathically - any answer?
And could you please check my previous post - I added some rolls for that Mark with someone inside it.
When you reach into the mind of one of the homeless you get the sense of someone who has been stunned. Their mind is unable to focus, let alone communicate with you.
“That’s odd. Perhaps a couple of us should sneak or check the perimeter. This place is eerie. And I’ve never met a person who didn’t accept free coin.”

That was the first thing actually making Al-Ashari sad - blank mind, what can be worse? In her books - nothing. "They do not understand anything. They are in permanent shock - no thoughts at all" informed she her group.
With that sad and disturbed expression she proceeded into the Auction House.

Was that with disadvantage?

You sense that it is just a warping of the magic, not that something is actually there.
And what about homeless crowd?
Kale got his answer about the magic.
