10,000 years ago, the skies blackened at the wake of an ancient evil, a dragon who’s name must not be spoken, less to awaken him from his slumber. His breath brought the end of days, and he reigned with wrath upon the people, his scales the deepest crimson, claws stretching like mountains, and eyes orbs of magma. He ravaged the cities and towns of the world, and brought evil unseen, until a group of heroes, who deleted the deepest caves and slew monsters of evil, arose for one last battle. They clashed for seven days, and seven nights, battling the deathly foe. When the skies parted, both the warriors and the dragon lay slain, and the world shattered. They tried to rebuild, but soon sought easier lives, and so they left their bravery behind, and they have been turned weak by the silence. But the evils of the world are returning, and if we are going to survive, we must learn our old ways, and fight back our end
Or face oblivion...
Hunters of the Spire-lands is a 5th level adventure for dnd 5e. We will be hosting either on play by post, or discord. We will be playing with hopefully 4-7 players, with a little wiggle room. You may multiclass into anything, mystic will not be allowed, as well as a few of the other Ua subclasses. I am on the fence about blood hunters, but I will decide once I see them being played
Character Name: Inssol Class & Race: Gnome Fighter Alignement & Background: Soldier Place of Origin: Parts Unknown
Backstory: Inssol has been traveling for as long as he can remember. Well, he's been traveling by himself for a few months. He comes from a lineage of nomads who will travel the world, selling scrolls and potions alike to wanderers and townsfolk alike. Due to their size, figuratively and literally, they strayed from big cities for fear of being robbed. Inssol, though he understood, did not share this fear. Living in a world were just about everything and everyone towers over you has filled his eyes with a sense of wonder. So much so, that Inssol didn't even wait until he was of age to ask his parents to be an adventurer. They were skeptical at first, but with his growing skills as a swordsman, they saw it was plausible for him to live on his own. With the promise to send letters every month, Inssol set to find quests.
Okay, so a few questions beforehand. How are the ability scores being decided, and what is the starting equipment? Is it just the class's starting equipment or is there some additional money involved since we're not starting at level 1?
Regardless of your responses, I'm interested in playing, and I'll be posting my character soon.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Name: Alivont
Race: Protector Aasimar
Class: Warlock (Hexblade) 2, Paladin (Crown) 3
Background: Soldier
Backstory: Alivont was one of the few brave enough to protect his town, and served in the town guard happily. However, he soon began to have visions of evil returning and overtaking the world. Not knowing what to do, he consulted the town priest, who revealed to him a secret: he was an aasimar, and the visions were from his angelic guide, Alia. The priest suggested meditation. When Alivont did this, Alia appeared before him and told him of the coming evil, and tasked him with protecting it. The aasimar accepted this quest, knowing he would be protecting both the town he loved and the world, soon enough.
Backstory: Marfaen was born a bastard child in his human family, having a brother that was the kid of these parents that took care of him while he was growing up. With Marfaen not being the father's kid, he wasn't given the most attention a child would desire, so he grew secluded at home until the day he decided to seclude himself from society. In his late teen years, without telling much, he left into the forest, not knowing what he wanted to find.
Turns out he found something, or in this case, someone. A wizard who taught him the basics of magic. Said wizard lived in a cabin by herself, and after Marfaen decided he discovered enough about the arcane he set out on his objective-lacking mission again. Weeks passed before he had a vision, something that he knew was important but couldn't decipher or even remember most of it. He decided to set in learning more about Divination, seeing if studies in that area could at all help him discover what was the meaning of that vision.
What he learned led him straight in the mystic stories of thousands of years ago, and how the future looked, which all then put him into this journey.

As a boy Torin was injured in an ally fight and was left for dead by the gang he scuffled with. The famous mercenary Reymond Raollin who was completing a job next door stumbled across Torin. Reymond had lost his nephew (who he treated like a son) just five years before to a plague in his home village. When he came across an unconscious Torin in the bloodstained ally way, his heart skipped a beat. The resemblance to his lost nephew was striking. Reymond took pity on him and rescued Torin. He raised him as if he was one of his own, and taught him how to fight and how to make money hunting wanted criminals. As Torin grew up, he longed for something more from life. He couldn't explain these feelings but he knew that he was destined for something greater. After his last bounty, he decided to take a journey north to discover his roots and where he came from.

Omg guys! Thanks so much for the amazing response! Sorry, I was cleaning about the house
For ability scores, we will be doing standard, rolling 4d6s and choosing the top three. You get a free 18, but one of your stats must be 9 or lower, to add a bit of imbalance and specialization.
You will get 700 gp, 100 pp, 1200cp. Do not worry about equipment, you will be getting strong equipment very soon
this campaign won’t be like other campaigns, as I’m styling it almost like monster hunter, where you hunt massive monsters, and return to a hub world for rp and to buy cool stuff with earned currency, and craft crazy weapons from monster parts
Thanks for responding! I'll be changing my character's ability score rolls by editing the message with my character application, and I'm currently removing the starting equipment on my character to keep just the amount of money you said we should have.
Edit: Forgot to add a side note, I didn't have any idea that's what I had signed up for, and although I kinda wanted a normal campaign, I'm still up to try something different, so I don't see why not. I just hope my character's backstory is still acceptable even in this new setting I just discovered I'm getting into.
I can only be in this game if we're using PbP. I don't have a Discord account, and I'm not ready to create one to play a single game of D&D, so that's why I vote in favor of Play by Post.
