Yes, it was radiant. I appreciate you helping me parse this. think I read it wrong. I thought if it was radiant, there is no saving throw, and goes to one hit point. But I think you are right: Without the saving throw, it doesn't go back to 1 HP. So, I guess they just explode instead. 4 vs 10. If hit 2 else half. 5 vs 10. If hit 4 else half.

For round 3, Fizzwick would ram the sphere into the zombie by the stairs if it's still alive, and cast a firebolt at it. If the zombie is still there at the end of its round 3 turn, it would take damage again from the sphere. Alternatively if the zombie is gone Fizzwick would let the others help in the other room while he looks for his friend, moving the sphere up the stairs ahead of him while he heads in that direction calling out "Tsendur?! Tsendur?!"

He starts to send his flaming sphere up the stairs ahead of him as a shield against more undead, making sure not to burn Tsendur if he's there on the ground or anything. He yells the others "we have to find him!"
Aldwin takes one more look at the corpses that had risen and then exploded and nodded. "Right, they have waisted enough of our time. I'm right on your tail!" He calls out and follows Fizzwick up the stairs.
Lia will move slower after the others, keeping her crossbow ready and her eyes on alert. She would first go through to the other section of the ground floor, to verify no more undead were there, and checking those other doors there as well, before continuing up the stairs after the rest.

A muffled cry for help is heard from upstairs.
Hearing the cry for help, Gimdrak rushes to the stairs to follow the others and try to get up despite the section of staircase missing.

Also, not a big deal, but Lia would have healed 7 HP when zombie 3 died for good. From the curse she put on it, she regains 7 HP when it dies.
