A human stands upon a stage just before addressing the crowd. In a city that never sleeps, the number of people who pass by is in the hundreds. He is at first, apprehensive, hoping his message will reach those who he needs. He coughs briefly into his hand before exploding into an energetic performance.
“Greetings weary travelers! Artisans and Journeymen alike, listen now! A gathering of masters is about to take place! Only the best, and most dedicated craftsmen will be welcome. A young but talented prodigy or an age old expert could be your competition. If you wish to prove your metal, come with your greatest achievement and show it to the world!”
He takes a breath, and looks around at a somewhat captivated audience. They are seen spreading out the leaflets that the man had placed in front of the stage.
“Everyday for the next week, I will be here at noon on this stage. If you wish to participate, you need only show your skill...”
The crowd looks around, energized as well by his performance.
“...Best of luck to you all!”
Seven Days Pass
After the week was up, the showman stood upon his stage late in the afternoon and he announces the winners of his contest. Though many entered, these masters were chosen based on their unique design or expert craftsmanship that displayed a depth of self and skill. He clears his throat briefly before addressing the crowd and welcoming the winners to his stage.
"1. Laucian Xiolscient, a Half Elf Arcane Archer brought a handmade bow he's been making since he was a child in his father's shop. 2. Samwell Smith, a human duelist, brought a longsword depicting a battle of the ages, wrapped in handmade leather. 3. Prosinet Fizzlepurtet, A gnome wizard, brought an invisible potion of invisibility only visible to one holding the elixir. 4. Hopper Volistar, a Kalashtar monk, brought an enormous hourglass filled with diamond sand. 5. Arophanis, a Half Elf rogue, brought an expertly penned letter of the most exquisite handwriting. 6. Torke Aldrehas, a Yuan-ti warlock, brought a silver wolf hide charm necklace inlaid with gemstones. 7. Frostbite, a dragonborn barbarian, brought an ice sculpture he literally made himself. and finally, 8. Anyll Sungold, a half elf sorcerer, brought a painting of his dreamscape."
He allows the crowd to cheer the champions before continuing.
These fine fellows will receive the opportunity of the lifetime should they so choose. Our sponsor, the mysterious Mr. Wilcox, has paid great amounts of money to afford them this opportunity to visit his private residence and witness something so spectacular my words would fail to describe it. To this I ask...
Standing upon the stage, you now all have the chance to move about. The speaker is waiting just off the side of the stage, the sun is setting, and, your masterpieces have been carefully displayed on stands in front of you.
Sam turns to the man and bows deeply. His shoulder-length black hair drops down in front of his face, but he snaps back up and it falls back into place. "It would be my honor to meet Mr. Wilcox." As the man's eyes move to the others, Sam scratches his thin but dark beard.
He surveys the rest of the group, scanning with his pale blue eyes, making sure to keep his back straight and look confident. It's hard not to be impressed by the amount of skill assembled here in one place.
Prosinet looks around terrified at the fact that ANYONE is looking at him. "Umm I guess if someone would like to meet me... ah it would be rude not to... He's not scary is he, I am quite easily startled you see." He will not move until at least 3 or 4 other people move, not being the last, but certainly not being the first.

A large white Dragonborn towers above the crowd and the speaker. Concerned more about how much longer the sculptor was going to last on its stand he turns to the speaker.
"Do I have to bring the art? I will require my wagon again to move it. If we travel some distance, I have to do more work before viewing again."
Waiting for a response he is ready to leave the stage as soon as he is permitted.
This is an interesting bunch, yes. I should like to meet Mr Wilcox, too.
Especially interesting in the mix of talents and specialities....
A wizard who knows alchemy, and a monk who can make glass...
A fighter and a barbarian - both very relaxed, yet feet and hands always placed just so....
And something about the Dragon born tickles the memory... is that a disguise kit in his pack? That would match up well with Arophanis' modest talents in exquisite penmanship.
Arophanis then looks outward, to view the crowd to see if anyone is paying a professional interest in them

Torke Aldrehas
Torke stands proudly, showing the scales on his arms and the reptilian feet making him seem taller than he should be. He seems content with the fact that people appreciated his efforts to making his masterpiece. He fixes his leather tunic before speaking with broken speechand a rather tough voice, "Ah, of course. Mr. Wilcox will be interested in my works—as much as the others here on the stage."
He looks over to the setting sun in a noble's posture to deceive his actions as a wealthy man, rather than a "filthy outlander" as the commonfolk would say of his tribe.
Anyll Sungold is beaming from ear to ear! To think he was noticed for his weird, conceptual piece who would have thought. He is quick to bow in thanks to the host and gestures an applause to be all around.
Donning fine, red silks with large, loose sleeves trimmed with gold. His long, rich-brown is well kept; dead straight with the upper locks tied back with the lower to flow just over the shoulder and back. The impressive top half was hoped to be enough of a distraction from the bottom; faded black slacks met with simple leather shoes of a dark nondescript colour, echoing the strife to make ends meet.
In an impulse to impress and socialise, the takes to the white dragonborn and offers a hand, "Well, congratulations! What a pleasant surprise. You truly made the sculpture yourself?"
Frostbite, the Speaker turns to you and says that it won't be a concern so long as the sculpture remains inside the stand, which can be easily moved by the tournament workers employed by Wilcox.
Arophanis, you notice there are three men in the crowd who have not broken eye contact with the group. You also...
...recognize one of the men as a fellow "master" who submitted something just before you handed the Speaker your letter. The speaker and him were having what appeared to be a lengthy conversation, and the Speaker's eyes darted past you while reading the letter, possibly towards this man, just before he announced the winners. (You do not have to communicate this information, as it isn't obvious and only you would know.)
Torke, half because of the win and half because of your posture, you notice there are several members of the audience looking at you with reverence. To them, you a truly considered a master of masters.
The speaker then motions for the movers to begin readying the moving platforms for the stands and masterpieces. After addressing frostbite, he acknowledges everyone's willingness to go along and comments, "Then we will depart shortly. Please gather the things you may need for a couple of days stay and meet behind this stage before the day is out."
Hopper stands near the edge of the stage always watching and measuring peoples reactions. His dark brown eyes flicking from person to person. Still somewhat uncomfortable in large crowds since he grew up in a small monastery. He is tall but wiry. His appearance hides the true strength that his body is weapon. The monk clothes Hopper is wearing are a little more flashy than traditional monks. A deep blue lined with white thread. Hopper over hears Mr. Wilcox and grabs up his pack from the side of the stage.
Seeing Arophanis distracted Hopper jogs across the stage. Coming up beside Arophanis slaps him on the shoulder shouting “GOOD JOB! I’m Hopper and we should be celebrating. So Why the long looks out into a crowd?”
Arophanis shakes Hopper's hand, and leans in close
.I'm just keeping my eyes peeled...Especially since there are 3 goons keeping an eye us... One to the left, one to the right, and one in the middle. The one in the middle entered this little contest, but isn't on stage...
edit to add -> Before leaving the market Arophanis will buy a Healer's Kit, no haggling, though because of the time...and also still keeping an eye on the 3 goons, in particular if one of them follows him.
"Wh Wh Wh did you say about someone watching us? Thats not good, nope, nope, nope!" Prosinet approaches Hopper and Arophanis, keeping himself between them and the crowd. "Why would anyone be interested in us? Should we be worried... I'm kind of worried, what should we do? He looks up at the two with sheer terror in his eyes.

Prosinet, yes? High 5! I can see how your potion will come in handy:) For right now, though, best to take a deep breath, and count to 10. Best thing to do when you are being followed is to walk with a crowd, like being followed is normal...

Torke basks in the moment, finally feeling a rush of respect for his work before fading back into the rest of the group. He looms over the 7 others, seemingly at unease as though he has not met them yet.
