Arliden sneaks up on one of the sleeping winged kobolds and neatly slices its throat. It dies without making a sound. Another winged kobold hears a noise and opens its eyes just in time to see a glaive swinging toward its face. The glaive cleaves the kobold in half. The last winged kobold wakes up to the sound of a hammer hitting the ground right beside its head. It looks around wildly, notices it's the only one of its kind in the chamber and surrounded by other creatures that seem intent on killing it (save for a seemingly disinterested dragonborn inspecting the room). It immediately begs for mercy.
Rex, while all of this is going on, you have noticed that there are dozens of dragon-themed talismans and amulets carved from bone, soapstone, wood, and ivory around the room. A few of them might be worth inspecting closer, but most are of terrible workmanship. You can also see piles of coins in various places around the chamber.
Rex hears a noise and turns around before pinching the scales of his brow. He releases a low grumble, “Are you kidding me? Did non-lethal interrogation not even cross you people’s minds?” Rex just shorts and walks over to each of the kobolds, muttering a quiet prayer over each.

Arliden looks at the kobolds, then Rex, then back at the kobolds, then Rex, "I mean look is there a reason we shouldn't be killing them? They literally just helped murder innocent townsfolk, I'm all for civil discussion so maybe I'm missing something here?"
Rex moves his hands along the makeshift symbols and sighs deeply, “Y’know... I used to be a part of this massive pile of terrak too. Used to steal, pillage, thieve... just a whole lot of taking other people’s stuff in general really,” Rex gives a sad chuckle at his own joke, “Not all of it was willing, not a lot of the people were left breathing either. World owed me, I figured. Made lots of enemies that way. That changed around the same time Io got a hold of me. So, I don’t know... I guess I’m hoping there’s another option. These guys may be evil, and just really all around horrible people, but they’re broken too. It doesn’t excuse what they’ve done and I know where to draw a line, but maybe some can change at least...”
Fjordix scoffed at Rex's remarks. The very thing that led these creatures to attack that town, to pillage, to kill innocent people was what had taken away his happiness. There had been enough of this mercy talk for today, in his mind every single one of these things had a choice, they chose to be apart of something evil, and in doing so forfeited their right to continue breathing. Still Fjordix wasn't so gone that he didn't recognize a bit of himself in what Rex was saying, he just didn't want to admit it, "I need a drink" he muttered under his breath as he helped to search the room and gather up any valuables or useful items.
Novot moves over to help Rex with the talismans, if she can. The red tinge around the sides of her vision slowly fades. **** you, Gruumsh. A few moments of looking at the carvings. "It...is difficult to know the right thing." She looks at her right hand, palm up and covered in a white gauntlet. "Retribution but forbearance. Kindness but justice. Help the hopeless but cut out the rot." Her hand drops to her side.
For that matter, **** you too, Torm.

As you look more closely at the talismans and amulets, you see four that have a unique, if savage, artistic flair. An interested collector might pay a good price for these. The rest of the search turns up 38 gp, 152 sp, and (oddly) 704 cp sorted into eighty-eight stacks of exactly eight copper coins each.
OOC: I'm going to take the bait on this, is there a check Fjordix can make to see if there is a rhyme or reason to the coins being stacked as they are? *falls down crazy man's rabbit hole*

Fjordix hears the sound of the hammer hitting the floor and quickly spins, drawing a hand axe to end the creature! Attack: 24 Damage: 5
OOC: Unless someone physically stops him Fjordix will throw the handaxe at the Kobold
LOL, Arliden was also going to immediately throw a dagger at the sleeping Kobold. So if needed Attack: 18 Damage: 7
A hand axe and dagger suddenly "sprout" from the winged kobold's chest before it falls over, dead.

Fjordix walks over and retrieves his handaxe from the creatures chest. "I know what I need to know for now" he said in response to Rex's question.
Novot's too frustrated to answer civilly.
