hello I am a semi-experienced dungeon master [roughly 2 years] that is looking for players in a campaign [4 to 6] I will be running the campaign between 7 and 9 am on Sunday mornings Australian eastern time, please post a character description and a rough idea of your experience of PbP.

Head Sorcerer and creator of the worshippers of Levi Rocks
I've been meaning to play this character for a while, hopefully this will be the best campaing for them:
Name: V'rekh Race: Tortle Background: Outlander Class: Sorcerer (Storm Sorcery) Backstory: V'rekh used to live on his own near the water pond. He was most happy when the wind was blowing and the rain falling on his shell. Lately he has started feeling the magic rise inside him and the urge to see the world. One day when the storm was raging and the full moon was barely visible between the clouds he decided to gather his posessions and started walking looking for adventure.
I have a few months of experience in the play by post world, more on paper. I can post daily in this forum.
Quick question: should the stats be rolled, picked with the stadard array or point buy?
probably for the first week or two just to discuss characters and so on, we will come up with some permanent times after that session, they will probably be longer and more frequent but it depends on everyone's availability.

I think the advantage (and disadvantage) of forum PBP is that roleplay is not restricted to a specific day of the week or time of day, since many people can't manage to fit that into their schedule. If you were willing to be more flexible with the times, something like "you have to post at least once a day, or twice a week", your game would move a lot more slowly, but you would get more applicants. Also the more stringent you make the application requirements (detailing how to create stats, what sources are and aren't allowed, whether or not custom background writeups are required), the more seriously players will take your request to join the game. There are a lot of people, both DMs and players, who flake out on their games for reasons justified or not. Showing that you're committed to a game by adding detail will draw like-minded individuals to want to play it.
I would very much be interested. I am a DM my self (though not pbp) and was hoping to get a chance to play this way. I have played in a pbp game for some time, but am no expert.
i would probably play either a tank/support or utility wizard.
I would be interested if the timeline was not so restricted. Being able to play PBP is awesome, since it allows for no worrying about having to be online at a set time. If you are willing to relax that being online at a specific part of this, then I'd love to play.
thank you everyone for your ideas if you guys want it we can change or even completely get rid of the time slots we can do this as a post when you please style of playing. That first session was all about getting everyone's characters down and so on however that can be easily changed please send me any further ideas as that would really help with this campaign.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Here is my character then...
Ability scores: 171312181210
(Will take point buy if the above don't turn out ok... Need some specific scores to get this character built properly. Lots of multiclass requirements.)
Name: Leann
Race: Yuan-Ti
Class: Paladin to start. Will be going some levels of warlock, wizard, and bard before done though.
Background: soldier
Backstory:
Leann was sent to infiltrate the humans of the mainland some years back. She found she enjoyed being with the humans, and even warned them of an impending invasion by the Yuan-Ti. She has been marked as a traitor, even more so since she has started following Torm.
thanks mate I'm glad that you're able to play, a yuan-Ti character will be great. we should be able to get started soon we just need a few more characters.

Are you saying that you will be posting in this play-by-post campaign once a week in a two hour time slot?
