The dwarf then turns to Gunnar and just gives him a nervous nod before serving up to tankards of a nice, dark ale. Complete with a nice thick foam. "That one has a hint of coffee beans and dried plums. Real good stuff." (It is good stuff)

"4 bubbles, armored one." The dwarf says nervously.
The dwarf in front of Xarprax and Krumdak fills up three tankards with each of the three different ales and sets them in front of Krumdak. "That'll be 1 dew and a bubble."
The PexianTar Ale is as the name suggests thick, almost syrupy. It tastes more or less like sugared charcoal, but when you swallow it it burns down the throat like a strong spirit would do. The taste of the ale hides the alcohol taste completely and you're uncertain just how high of a percentage it really is. "Ale" is probably just a nickname.
"GOOD HUH?" The dwarves behind the counters says in unison as the group starts drinking their alcoholic drinks. Both of them smile with pearly white teeth almost shining through their black beards.

You feel as though you have swallowed a large lump of lead, your eyes fade to black for a split second you're about to fall of the chair, but you fight through it. Whatever this stuff is, it's weeeird.
The dwarf is visibly impressed with you. "By The Kinforger, you're a tough one!"
Do you brew this yourselves? Once I find a ship I'll need to know what a barrel goes for.
Verrynia leans forward and starts asking questions a bit more quietly.
What should a girl know around these parts? Big Man at the pier was talking like something is going on in town during the night. Sounds fun; I'm just not sure if it's the good kind or bad.
"Two Pexians coming up!" From behind the bar the dwarf continues, answering Verrynias question. "Yup. Brew it ourselves. Me n' my brothers. Only place north of the Arid Wall you can get the stuff 'else you have to go down to Pexia. For a nice full barrel? 12 droplets or so." He peeks back up and slides two Tar Ale over to Gunnar. "Ah. Well the streets are both good and bad at night. Good, cause none of the Scalecloaks bother doing their patrols, bad cause the Pursecutters run around snatching everything thats not nailed down. If you have a boat by the docks I even hear stuff disappears in some kind of fog. Not the boat though, just the stuff in the boat." He counts the coin and puts it in a box at the kitchen counter.
Khurah makes clear, again, that she's covering ONE of Xarprax's drinks. She addresses the nearest dwarf. "I'll take a chocolate- not milk with some cocoa in it- melted chocolate. You have this?"
After watching the others sample the different offerings, Xarprax finally orders a dark. He leans in to Khurah, saying, "It's a good thing you're paying. I haven't got a do or bauble on me." He then addresses the dwarf who asked about his quarry, taking on a look that is slightly pirate-y. "Phaendar Yinqen is short and skinny and has pointy ears and shifty eyes," he says, using hand gestures to pantomime pointy ears and shifty eyes. "Oh, and he has sticky fingers," the dragonborn says, waving all 10 fingers at the dwarf. "Maybe he's been eating honey sandwiches. They always make my fingers sticky," he chuckles, elbowing Krumdak in the ribs. "He been here? And, er, do you sell honey sandwiches?"
Gunnar downs both drinks while the dwarf reaches out his hand as if to stop him, but too late. As Gunnar gulps down the syrup he immediately regrets it. You feel as if something solidifies within you. You fall to the ground feeling like a rock is lodged somewhere within your stomach and you just can't seem to get up. The dwarf sighs and jumps over the counter. "Big Metal Man here can't take his tar better than a little girl? Now I've seen everything." He waves to the other dwarf behind the counter and who throws a pillow and a wineskin over the counter. The one that jumped the counter puts the pillow underneath your head and puts the wineskin in your hand, patting your fingers to ensure you have it gripped. "You're not gonna get up for a little while. Drink this juice. It'll speed up the process."
(You are knocked prone for 1 minute if you drink the juice and 1 hour if not. You are also considered poisoned while prone. Regardless, you'll be drunk AF from now on)
The other dwarf, after throwing the pillow and the juice over the counter can finally turn to Khurah while fixing a dark ale for Xarprax. "We've got coffee and cocoa beans, I could make a brew with those if you'd like?"
When he gets back up with the ale and puts it in front of Xarprax he smiles. "Not a bright one, are you? Sticky fingers means he's a thief right? In Pexian the words for thief and sticky fingers mean the same, actually, and to answer your question honestly. No, I haven't seen the guy. Sounds like a guy who hangs around the Catnip though, or maybe runs around in the middle of the night snatching stuff." He looks to the guy in the kitchen and says something in a language none of you understand. "Nah, we don't have honey sandwiches. We have sugar kelp balls though." He reaches over the kitchen counter where the third dwarf has found a large glass jar filled with round, brackish brown balls. They look like they stick to the inside of the glass. "You want a taste? On the house."

Verrynia quickly perks up and chuckles.
Now that's more like it!
Finishing the fist mug, she begins the second with a gleam in her eye.
The dwarf who served you the second ale laughs nervously as you start drinking the second ale. "Wouldn't down them too fast there."
