The Shady Dragon Tavern is where all the members of the Adventurer's Guild meet. Members of the Guild gather here to swap yarns, chat with old friends, or make contacts for the next adventure. All classes and levels of members mingle freely, from novices to experts and from fighters to wizards.
Sam Smallsole owns the Shady Dragon. He has two serving wenches, Gwynne Cutpurse and Ariadne Beornsdottir. The cook is Friar Fergus and the ostler is Lachlan the Warrior.
Friar Fergus lives in the Cook's Bedroom across the hall from the Maid's Bedroom where Gwynne and Ariadne sleep. Upstairs at the far east end of the building, Sam and Lachlan share a bedroom.
During the day, Lachlan is outside, although he comes inside and sits at the table next to the bar when things are slow. Gwynne, Ariadne and Sam relieve Fergus when he is tired of cooking or has a day off. Sometimes Lachlan tends bar with Sam, and at night he serves as a bouncer if any problem comes up which Sam cannot handle alone. Ariadne, Gwynne and Sam sit at the small table by the bar (in the northeast corner) when business is slow.
A good meal at the tavern costs a silver piece. Ale and beer cost 3 cp per mug; wine costs 10 cp per glass or 2 sp per bottle, of wine. All rooms are upstairs, and are rented on a basis of how many beds are in the room. A bed costs 3 sp per night, the entire room 12 sp. If the rooms are all taken, Sam will let guests sleep in the tavern for 10 cp.
The rooms are clean; each bed has two blankets and a pillow. Each room also contains two benches. The doors lock from the inside, although Sam has key he can use in an emergency. Although a trusting soul and one who always lends a helping hand to someone down on his luck, Sam likes payment in advance
The Tavern floor has ten tables as seen above, Sam the halfling owner is tending the bar and Gwynne is waiting tables, the place is fairly full of people about sixteen patrons are here, Behind the bar is a board with various bounties listed "name, dead or alive and reward listed"
The Orpheus' Company has taken the table in the north eastern corner of the room which places them two tables from the door and two tables from the hearth.

Daxori will stroll in and take a seat at the table in the center of the room such that she can easily observe the Orpheus' Company without being obvious. She will then attempt to attract Gwynne's attention to order a bottle of wine and enough glasses for all of her new friends should they choose to join her. The whole time she will be attentive to any conversations she can manage to overhear (Perception: 15).
Slowly walking his way in, Belorin looks around seeing Daxori seating at a table and make his way over to take a seat. His shield and warhammer still smiling.
(Ruthor scuffs his boots heavily as he walks over to the center of the tavern and sits at the middle table next to Daxori, and proceeds to pick at his red beard as if to discover a chicken wing from his meal this morning. with his right hand he pulls his helmet off and thumps it on the table in front of him. Removes his pipe from his belt and knocks the pipe on his forearm with the ashes falling onto the bench next to him. Leaning forward he grabs the candle on the table to light his pipe and then puts it back. With one heavy draw from his pipe he exhales the smoke through both nostrils)
Speaks aloud "Tavern ain't to shabby.. It could use some dwarven stools though; if this bench tilts backwards the whole lot of ya will fall on your arse's!"
Thurmun is the only one so far who can make out the most of what is being discussed over at the Orpheus' Company's table.
Orpheus is speaking to the group " I spoke with Clifton Caldwell, a local merchant, who has recently purchased the Old Antilles Castle, about five miles west of town the castle had not been occupied for some time. Clifton had purchased the castle for a ridiculously high price.since he had always wanted to own one. But when he went to visit his new home, he found that it was overrun by monsters! He was lucky to escape with his life. He has hired us to rid the castle of its monstrous inhabitants so he can move in."
He raises a tankard of ale, "here to our success tomorrow and may many more productive adventures be on the horizon."
The half-orc Sod raised his own Tankard, "To our first adventure, may we all survive and return wealthy."
Bluster the Halfling asks " What is he paying us?"
Orpheus " he's paying us 100 gold pieces apiece, in addition, of course, to all the treasure we find. and he has paid us half up front."
He the produces several bags of coin and gives one to each member.

With a sly smile Thurmun leans over to Daxori,
"Seems these Orifice Cleaners do have some coin after all..." he whispers, "might be we could help lighten their load an beat em to the punch. What say we check out this Antilles Castle fer loot an pad our pockets before our big job?"
He continues to listen and watch for any useful details. (Perception: 15)

Daxori nods agreement to Thurmun's suggestion as she ruminates on what she knows about Old Antilles Castle, its history, and its new owner Clifton Caldwell (History: 18). Her eyes bright with delight at his colourful use of language, she adds in a whisper,
"It might be a good way to test our mettle as a team, before we are too deep in to pull out safely, as well as provide us with coin to buy provisions for our quest."
With a warm, welcoming smile, and a slightly mischievous glint in her eyes, she looks around at her new found friends and asks,
"What say you gentlemen, are you up for helping out your fellow man?"
Daxori's face relaxes, her gaze becomes unfocused and she appears to be looking off into space for a moment, muttering quietly to herself,
"That name sounds familiar..."
Her eyes widen suddenly, a delighted smile returning to her face as her gaze turns to Enzo. In a clear, quiet voice, strained with barely contained excitement, she says,
"I am starting believe you are right, friend Enzo, and it truly is Pelor's will that we complete our quest. I have just remembered that Old Antilles Castle was originally owned by Arik Antilles, a companion to Rogahn the Fearless, and that he built it with the money he earned serving Rogahn. I think we will find valuable information to aid us in our quest in that castle, if we have to courage to seek it."
'If I heard correctly, there are monsters in a castle that someone else has been paid to remove, and our plan is to go there first. Risk our lives fighting monsters. Hope to find some treasure and clues so that the Orpheus Company can safely collect a reward'
Gwynne arrives at the table with your bottle of wine and glasses for the five of you. " here you go Sweety, that will be two crona (sp). Is there anything else I can get for you folks?" As she sets the bottle and glasses on the table.

"I - I'm sorry lass I can't be acceptin of yer flirtatious namecallin, I'm a man in service to M'lady here..." He looks down, his face flushing as he rummages for 3 silvers. "I hope this ere helps mendin yer broken heart..." Thurmun gently places the coins in Gwynne's hand, gives it a gentle squeeze and gives her a knowing smile and a wink. "I'm sure ye could do better than this ere tunnel rat."
He shyly looks up to Daxori with apology in his eyes, "I'm sorry yer graciousness, please furgive the lass, she meant nuthin by her misguided admirations." Thurmun turns his eyes back to the wine, pours Daxori's glass and offers it to her with a slight bow then perks up with a thought.
"Ye folks finish up yer drinks, I'ma go 'visit the jacks' n freshen up. We should be off fore these Odeous Clods head out themselfs." With that he leaves the table and heads 'for the washroom' skimming by the Orpheus Company table for a closer listen and looksee. He appears very drunk while carrying his own half filled glass... though he hasn't even taken a sip.
As Thurmun stumbles past the Orpheus Company he seems to be looking else where when he runs right into Orpheus himself. "Hey there little one watch where your stumbling, there are up in coming heroes hard at work here."Orpheus helps Thurmun gain is balance and sends him off away from the table with a firm hand on his shoulder.
The rest of the group barely takes notice as they are all gathering up their coin pursues and making plans for the equipment they may need for there newest job.
Daxori graciously nods her thanks to Thurmun for the wine, even managing to avoid rolling her eyes in the process. Once Thurmun leaves for the "jack" she hands Gwynne an additional 3 coppers for her trouble, quietly adding,
"That one is turning out to be quite the colourful character... I don't think we will be needing anything more."
She then proceeds to pour a glass of wine for each of her companions, finishing with,
"Drink up gentlemen, it looks like we don't have a lot of time to tarry if we want to get that worm."
"Thanks for the tip Sweety,"replies Gwynne as she takes the coins and places them in her dress, "That one seems to be quite the roguish rake, so watch yourself around him,"As she picks up her tray and moves to another table.

As you group gathers out side the Shady Dragon Inn & Tavern, a man runs up the street waving his hands, as he gets closer he has dark hair a stylish mustache and beard.
"Ah there you are Daxori, when master Cadarius told me that you left to seek membership in the adventures guild, it dawn on me that all our conversations for the past month was more than speculation, and that you truly desired to put you magical talents to the practical tests that we spoke of. So here I am to help!"
As he looks around and suddenly notices all of you, "My how rude of me I am Willard Elventosh, wizard and Sage, also a friend and colleague of mistress Daxori."

You all stop and look as a voice shouts "Hey there on the stairs!" As you see 5 uniformed guards lead by a corporal approaching your group.
The guards stop about ten feet from your group and the Corporal steps forward and addresses you. "I am Corporal Fellthrush, and several of you are in breach of the town ordinance regarding prohibited weapons, only daggers, swords, & staffs may be carried. First You with the warhammer and the Dwarf with the battleaxe, give your name and weapons to my guardsmen and you can retrieve them at the town gate upon your leaving town."
"Also, keep in mind that though wearing Armour is not illegal, citizens will be highly suspicious of armoured persons wandering the streets and we may be required to investigate reports, so I would advise against wearing it unless you are just arriving or leaving town just to avoid any delays in your daily business."
With that all said he awaits you replies.
