Talinian as you are looking at where Xamyra has her hand you can see a small shimmer, a magical field. You look up to the sky and see a bird fly, and then hit something, but nothing is there, it then stands on nothing for a moment, shakes itself off then flys off again.
Bones you also see the field, and as you are looking you see, but don't feel a small gust of wind, as a few bushes move and and a tree lose a few leafs, after a few minutes you see the same gust of wind, and the same bushes move in the same way, and the same leaves fall the same way.
"This is a magic field, there are so many that I am not sure what kind this is, and how to take it down."
"Hmm," Bones mumbles as he strokes his beard in thought. "If I had it prepared, I could misty step across to the other side of the barrier perhaps. But unfortunately that will only carry me across and no one else."
He then walks along, tapping the barrier at intervals to test it, occasionally reaching higher or bending low to tap at different heights (Investigation: 10).
Talinian considers the magical barrier. "Perhaps I could dispel the barrier. However, let us investigate it first. Baltor, fly along it and see if you can find an opening, perhaps at the top."
The owl takes flight and begins flying along the barrier at the up, down. He knows he cannot see it but he believes he can feel the air from his wing bouncing off it. Meanwhile, Talinian tries to determine if he thinks he can dispel the barrier.
Bones as you are walking around knocking you just feel the magic field. At some points it is cold, and others hot, some feel like death itself.
Baltor flys he finds the edge of the field and follows it, every so often trying to fly into, not at such a speed that would have him react as the other bird but enough to know he can not get through.
"Hmm, it appears to have different auras to it at various spots. Perhaps..." Bones wreaths his hand in flame with a fire bolt and tries to push his hand through one of the hot sections. If that does not work, he then also tries the same thing at one of the cold points.

ooc: Does Talinian believe he can dispel the field?
Bones as you are trying this the field seems to push in a little, the cold areas that you felt before may or may not have changed.
Talinian you can try to disepl it, but you are thinking it is a stronger spell than what you would be use to. But you do notice as Bones is pushing on the field that there is indeadly an illusion with the field, and you see blue skys and a valley briefly.
You feel that the field gets weaker when you first start, but then returns to it's original strength. Think maybe it goes from a solid to a jello that's too thick to break, then turns back to the solid.

Talinian pushes on the barrier, at first lightly and then with greater force. After a few moments, he tries to consider whether or not Misty Step will get him past the barrier.
He turns to Xamyra. "What do you think, Xamyra? Can we dispel it, perhaps get past it with Misty Step?"
Bones turns to Talinian. "Do you have your flaming sphere spell prepared today, my friend? While I can make a small indent with my cantrips, I'm wondering if something with a little more kick might open us a doorway?"
Talinian nods. "Yes, I do. We can try. I believe you may have uncovered a means of ingress." He glances at Xamyra, to see if she has any objections or other suggestions.
ooc: Assuming she doesn't
Reaching into his spell pouch, the tiefling wizard draws out the bit of tallow mixed with brimstone and powdered iron needed for the spell. Making the necessary gestures and saying the necessary words, he calls into being a flaming sphere, which he then pushes at the barrier, attempting to push it through.
The ball of fire hits the wall, and then is gone, but for a short moment, a small hole opens up, and then shuts.
"Bones dear did you say that you felt heat, cold and death? Perhaps all three are needed, at once? Clearly Talinia can handle the heat, can handle the cold are you able to handle the death part?" Xamyra looks confused.
Bones nods, "I can cast a spell to cause necrotic damage on touch." He steps forwards to the barrier and holds out a hand towards it, "Ready?" he asks the others, looking to them for their reply.

Talinian thinks this is a good idea but is unsure of the order or even if the spells should be cast in the same place. That's his first inclination but he ponders the parameters for a few moment and holds up a hand indicating everyone should wait. After giving it some thought, after first getting some divine assistance from Bones, he thinks either heat or cold should go first and death last and all at the same spot. Then he reconsiders, looking at his deduction from new angles, looking for flaws in his logic.
You tell me Talinian what do you come up with? its a good roll, but I want to know what you all pick in this instance. Would blasting all three at once open a large hole for the same short time, or the same size hole for a longer time, or would the fire open it, then the ice freeze it, and the necro kill it leaving an opening?
Mialee did her best to follow along, but somewhere along the line there just became so much outside of her expertise, she struggled to maintain focus. The warrior remained true to her nature, quiet. At most, she may have hummed lightly to fill the air with a gentle melody to set a comforting and relaxing atmosphere for the group to work in. Otherwise Mia faded to not much more than a shadow for most of the investigating, simply keeping a look out at their surroundings for any threats while the scholars reviewed and discussed.
When Talinian and Bone's would pause to look her way, it'd take some time before Mia would register that they were looking to her for engagement. Pulling the corner of her mouth to the side, she'd purse her lips and exhale through her nose. Bringing a hand to the back of her neck, she'd rub it as she'd try to compile and refocus her thoughts on the task at hand. Eventually her eyes would adjust to look at her companions instead of through them. "Well." Pausing to inhale a breath, she'd continue. "I don't have some great epiphany to offer." Mialee would admit. "The only elemental magic I can offer is radiance, and there's been no mention of it being of use in this case." She'd then dip her head in a form of an apology for her lack of contribution. "Truthfully, my advice is to go with your instincts. We have to start somewhere and try something." She'd give a gentle shrug, not feeling overly concerned about what approach they take.
After a moment though, Mia would look up once again. She'd decide to add something a little bit more constructive in respect for the scholars. "But watching you all work, maybe try a couple more experiments before committing to your hypothesis? Perhaps testing cold and then necromancy based spells separately to confirm what their effects are against the barrier." The warrior would tilt her head slightly.
Talinian smiles and nods. "An excellent suggestion, Mia. Thank you." Turning to the others, he says, "Bones, please try attacking the barrier with a necromantic attack. Let us see the effect. Then, Xamyra, you try your cold attack in the same area. Let us experiment some, first. I will try an acid attack. Then we will try the various attacks in different order combinations. Any questions?"
"Yes this is the battle field."
