"Ooh, just as soon as you're getting comfortable...." Berdam grumbles as he gets to his feet. "Can't answer for me brothers, but I'll be there, lass. Count on me if you need a bit o' knowledge."He gives Lilandraa wink and taps his head before limping off up the stairs and stops mid-way before shouting down, "Oh, we going now or after a little shut eye?"
The owner looks at Berdam. " Tomorrow should be fine. It's a three hour walk straight east. You better get some rest before going. I'll wake you at first light with some ham , cheese and a freshly baked slice of bread ."
"That sounds lovely, Urgala!" Turning towards the other group, "Name's Branlinn. It will be good to have new companions. That means new stories for the road."
After any other introductions, Branlinn picks up his backpack and heads towards the baths that the serving girl mentioned earlier.
Briel nods, "New allies are always appreciated, makes it easier to take down whatever you find in your way." She stands up, picking up her longbow and quiver, "I think I'll head to bed now, see you in the morning."
Lilandra raises an eyebrow at the wink given by Berdam, unsure of his meaning. She shakes her head and listens to the others.
Well met, I am Lilandra. I look forward to our journey together. But .. looking at Birel.. I to am in need of rest.
After introductions she gets up from the table and starts to walk then turns back to Evan. You can play your tunes tomorrow during our travels. She mentions having seen him pout most of the evening.
( If you want to roleplay more of the night don't hesitate to make a flashback. )
After a good breakfast and several motherly recommandations from Urgala the group sets of. She has also given each of you 10 gold in advance on the 20 she has promised.
Due east toward the Ferinal Farm to find out what has happened to Thom. You come across
The weather is rather nice on the early spring morning but the road leaving the town is not well traveled. It takes a couple of hours to reach the path leading to the farm.
( If you want to talk or make special preparations tell me. )
Dressed once again in his traveling clothes, Evan plays a compilation of lighthearted tunes on his lute as the adventurers travel eastward. Walking and playing, Evan engages the dwarves:
"It would be a boon for our small party to be joined by one dwarf; how much better does it bode for us to be joined by four? 'Fortune favors the bold,' and I know of no people braver. Tell me, where is your home? Are you all kin? How came you to Triboar?"
After breakfast Lilandra makes sure she saves some bread to give a bit to each of Urgala's dogs, trying somewhat to do it without Urgala seeing her. She will smile at the dogs and hold a finger in front of her lips to shush the dogs and then depart for the journey.
As they travel she will quietly hum along with Evan's tunes and fiddle with the bags on her belt to entertain herself while walking.
While they are not on a well traveled road Lilandra will keep an eye out for any herbs along the road to fill her component bag back up since she has used some ingredients casting spells over the past few days.
Staying alert she will be looking at movement as well. (passive perception 19, actively looking 11). When finding some mushrooms or usefull flowers she will pluck them and put them into her bag.
(not looking for anything special yet just rp'ing some herb gathering)
Branlinn asnwers Evan: "Bold, aye, but you might find some of us fair unbearded. Berdam here hails from Mirabar, while Kalas, Wallace and meself from Citadel Adbar. We're no kin, as far as we know. We were only passing through Triboar to make a delivery after spending some time helping the folk in Phandelver. What can you tell me of yourself and your companions?"
Branlinn speaks lightheartedly with his old companions and the new ones, getting to know them, and he's rather enjoying Evan's tunes.
As the group leaves the main road to follow the path to the farm it becomes apparent really quickly that something is wrong.
At first the smell of smoke hits you, the acre odor making you gag then the silence and then the smoke alerts you. not to far to the east and at the end of the path several farm house stand burnt to their foundations.
The whole area is blackened and a few human bodies litter the ground.
You are still far away from the carnage but the gruesome sight his hard to behold.
Berdamhas remained relatively quiet throughout this whole journey, as per. Keeping a journal, cross-referencing on a few smaller books he has on his person. The smell snaps him out and he is quick to look up at the scene that is being drawn towards them.
With deft hands, he straps his books away. A mumble blessing in Dwarvish as he takes a few quicker strides (for a dwarf!) and tries to ascertain what happened here...
"All-Father save their souls!" Branlinn closes his eyes to give a quiet prayer, then adds: "Whoever did this are probably gone. For houses to burn to the ground... it did not happen this morning."
Branlinn advances towards the scene, steeling himself against the smell.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
With the change in the sights and smells of their path, Evan transitions to a somber melody. However, as they reach the proximity of the smoldering farm houses, his lute falls silent. He stows it and readies his shield and rapier. "Does anyone see anything?" Evan will try to scan beyond the scorched earth for any threats or places to conceal a threat -- a tree line, for example.

Kalas stops dead in his tracks. Something has triggered his danger sense. Shivers course though his spine.
The rest of the party is already searching through the ruins Berdam looking for clues and Lilandra finds to living souls but several of the bodies crushed by large stones.
Berdam sees signs of large creatures tearing walls down and ransacking the farms but also a few lesser creatures footprints.
Out of the corner of the eyes they see that trees have been literally pushed aside to let a large creature or more go further east.
Motioning to the large stones that crushed the people.
In a voice brimming with anger - "There be giants about. And they aren't afraid of being found out."
Kalas uses his heavy cross bow to direct Branlinn's attention to the east, where the trees were uprooted.
"I’m no ranger but that trail looks easy enough to follow."
To the DM: Can Kalas estimate how long ago since the attack happened? And would he know if there are any other settlements in the east (where the trail was headed)?
( I ll move the thread forward as soon as a dwarf answers )
I ll move things after a good night sleep.

After that she will head upstairs.
Kalas will deposit his backpack and other items in his room. After taking off his armor he massages his shoulders and joints.
He puts on some normal clothes, hides a dagger in his boot and goes to take a hot bath to ease the knots and cramps he feels.
After the bath he retires to his room where he sharpens his battleaxe before sleeping.

"Any foes about? Does anybody see them?"
