For Branlinn, the fatality of the scene strips it of any urgency. He was deep in prayer when Kalas starts speaking of giants, but that was enough to drag him back to the surface.
"Don't forget about our mission.", then, raising his voice so the other could hear him: "We're looking for a young lad and we know two caravan guards were sent here, too. Are any of the dead armored?"
Branlinn looks for any sign of the caravan guards.
(Did we get any details about the young man we're looking for? I realise we didn't actually ask in character...)
While the others try to find any survivors, Kalas tries to determine what was the size of the force that attacked and its composition. All the while he periodically checks the East in case the marauders suddenly come back.
The single large set of foot prints tells a clear story. The creature, with large human like feet has wrecked the farms. Tearing the roof and destroying wall. Then after a while it left to the east through a dense forest.
The others foot prints show a large number a goblins treading through the wreckage probably searching for valuables and food.
They are the ones who did most of the killing. The wounds on the bodies are made by crude edge weapons.
Two unfortunates were crushed to pulp by a large stone or something similar
Evan calls out to the party, "Ho, friends! Here is the body of the young man, Thom, but the two guards may yet be alive! Here are two sets of tracks headed east! We must hasten after them before misfortune befalls them, as well!"
Lilandra closes her eyes for a moment after hearing the ill news about finding Thom. She then strenghtens her resolve and with a stern face she starts marching to follow the giant tracks.
We must rescue the survivors. We are their only hope.
The tracks are easy to follow. They go right along the large path made by the large creature. You follow the broken trees and the stamped ground east.
About an hour later you hear the grunts of a man. He is unarmed and visibly wounded. He sits arms limp on the each side and his back to a large log.. The sun is still high in the sky.

"Giants..." Birel says breathlessly. She takes a deep breath, "Okay then... at least we have something to go off of now."

Looking at the horrific scene Lilandra talks to herself. Why would they do such a thing. These people posed no danger to them.
Lilandra will try to see if the farm was an animal farm. Thinking they might be here for food.
(Perception 21 to see if they had animals or other something else the giants might be here for)
They are growing bolder to attack people like this. We must prevent them from destroying more farms in the area.
A mix of anger and sadness goes through Lilandra having her not focus on the task at hand.
Berdam tries to recall if he knows anything about giants in this region....
"Someone must have survived, they must've see what happened...?" Bedam eases closer to any buildings or anything someone could be hiding inside.

Kalas looks for Branlinn (or Berdam) to report his findings.
"As far as I can tell, there was only one giant that passed through here. Maybe a dozen or more goblins accompanied him."
Evan.
The two guards are not there and you find the body of Thom amongst the fallen.
Two sets of booted tracks have walked the same path has you and have left to follow the trail of the giant. Probably the two guards.
Evan calls out to the party, "Ho, friends! Here is the body of the young man, Thom, but the two guards may yet be alive! Here are two sets of tracks headed east! We must hasten after them before misfortune befalls them, as well!"
Birel nods, "Let's get going then, don't want to fall to far behind."

"I'm with ye." Berdam speaks, after giving a silent prayer with the dead in mind.
Kalas grunts his concurrence.
He then tries to track the marauders as best he can.
