The lord of Arnon has hired you to scout out the western lands because of reports of orc raids. He has given each of you an uncommon magic item of your choice to aid you on your journey. You set off heading west and came across an orc scouting party. You made short work of them and proceeded west. You reached the plains and began searching for raiding parties. On the fifth night you camped next to some strange looking mounds. Nick the gnome was on watch and shouted in surprise and tried to run when a purple light washed over the group but all of the sudden you were sitting next to mounds identical to the ones you were camped next to but it was suddenly day and you were in the middle of a large foreboding wood. You can head north, south, and east (in the west the wood is followed by a rocky terrain. A strange intuition tells you not to go there.
(You can have one uncommon magic item but no items that allow you to fly)
“Well that was unexpected,” Aiden said, feeling slightly confused it had been night only a few moments ago now it was suddenly daytime. Looking around he saw that he was now in the woods. Aiden guessed the strange purple light had teleported him and anyone else to this place. “And I have no idea where we are.”
You see the druid become perplexed and suddenly very thoughtful, but not before you hear his half-mumbled offhand remark
"What a strange natural phenomena...."
As Elias is studying the new environment I would like to make a perception check to see if he's aware of whats happening Perception roll:7
As the druid familiarized himself with his surroundings he calms down a little and looks at the group with an only half-forced smile from the remnants of his nerves and shock. "Shall we discuss where to next? After everyone gets their bearings, of course."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Mabellis stands, as confused as the rest of her party, trying to understand what has happened. How is it morning? Where are they? The mounds are familiar, but how are they in the woods suddenly?
She looks to the trees and nearby plant life to see if she recognizes them. If she can identify them, maybe she can get a sense of where they are.
"Not quite a unanimous decision but its worth checking out; I'll see if i can scout ahead a few hundred feet and see if anything shows up. If all clear we can set out if the others agree"
Elias goes to scout about 300 feet to the east and returns with a reportof what lays ahead [Passive Perception : 15]
you see small critters scattering in your path. as your returning 100 ft from the mounds, you are lifted from your feet by a treant who growls "what are you doing in my peacful wood?"
Elias is somewhat startled but then grows a large grin and answers in a cheery tone:
"Hello, pardon my disturbance. I am a friend to nature and a follower of Chauntea; I was just wandering around observing my surroundings and admiring this beautiful forest, which I seem to have magically appeared in.... Would you have any idea where exactly we are, my good treant?"
He makes no motion of aggression, and even uses mild druid-craft to make the buds of flowers bloom on the treant.
Mabellis stays back with the rest of the party, but she's not so sure if it's wise to go off alone. Who knows where they are and what they can run into?
She looks to everyone else. "Theories on what happened?" she asks. "I get the feeling this isn't the work of orcs."
I pull out my yew wand, sit on the ground, legs crossed, and start ritual casting Speak with Animals
after the ritual I get up and go over to the nearest group of forest critters and ask what they think of me, and more about the treant if they seem talkative or intelligent. If their response is positive, or neutral, I ask if they can convey to the treant I mean them and the forest no harm.
I use a first level spell slot to cast Goodberry and give one to each of the animals as a reward if they succeed or are otherwise helpful.
this is all in plain view of the treant, to not upset him and demonstrate the point further
edit: Elias uses his free actions during this time to make the forest around him bloom, to a reasonable degree, with druidcraft
"So, friend, how goes your beautiful forest these days?
Also, as to my earlier question... Where exactly is this forest of yours?"
I thank him, tell him of my waiting companions, and quickly go to give them all word of events and ask them to return to him with me so he may meet them and answer their questions about this place as well
Edit: -5 goodberries to the animals and treant, 1 to each party members
OOC: everyone ask the treant your questions, he seems chill and wise.
Aiden also decides to stay with the rest of the party “ I think that purple light that washed over us last night may have teleported us here, wherever here is” He says, it was the only explanation the wizard could think of at the moment.

Odysseus looks around to see if there is someone else
Ooc: a better introduction tomorrow
,
OOC: you are all in a group together

Nature Check: 18
"My vote for direction, is to head back east to see if we recognize anything (or anyone). Any other thoughts from you guys?"
|Elias Petrichor|Wood Elf|Druid|Faewild Adventure|
the trees are mostly oak and she can discern that the mounds look exactly the same as the ones they camped next to
Oak. A common wood. Which means they could literally be anywhere.
"I don't have any objections," Mabellis says after Elias speaks. "Not much we can do here, anyhow."

He grumbles under his breath and then responds "why should i trust you, AND STOP RUINING MY BARK!!!"
he seems less grumpy but is still slightly agitated

He looks a little embaressed when you say its his forest and says "its not only my forest but i do take care of this part of it."
instead of waiting for you to return with your companions he follows you to them
OOC: i wont be able to post for the rest of tonight so i will respond tomorrow
